For what projects/services did your company hire Focus Media Video Production, and what were your goals?

I hired Focus Media Video to produce a music video for an independent performance artist. My goal was to create a music video that was cinematic in scope and followed a strong visual narrative.

SOLUTION

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

I selected the vendor based on his online portfolio, which comprised of several high-quality, short films.

We began our process by sending over the song in question, detailing its origins, and my vision for the video. Focus Media then created a treatment, which I then modified through several rounds of review. We then agreed on a budget, signed a contract, scoped locations, and set a shoot schedule. The production entailed three days of filming at 3 distinct locations and a production team of 5 individuals.

The first shoot lasted 6 hours while the next two lasted between 10 and 14 hours. After filming came to a close, Focus Media edited the video and sent screenshots as well as a draft, which I then reviewed. After I proposed a set of changes, another draft was sent, which I approved. After this, the piece was sent to a colorizer, and then ultimately to me for final approval. Overall, this process last 8 weeks.

I worked with Mike who I greatly enjoyed collaborating with. His attention to detail, creative stamina, and dedication to a high-caliber product greatly impressed me. I would gladly work with him again. Our feedback process was honest, transparent, and focused.

The music video garnered over 120,000 views on YouTube.
