Please describe your company and your position there.

I am the founder of Her+Her clothing brand locate in Sonoma-County Ca. We are an online clothing brand for queer women and I oversee the day to day operations of the brand.

For what projects/services did your company hire Flight?

We needed assistance with developing our brand story as well assuring we had our concise message to deliver to our customers. Flight assisted with creating the Strategic Brief, Brand Essence and Brand Application, and Brand Standards and Guidelines.

What were your goals for this project?

To create a clear strategy and plan for our brand as well as develop our brand story to assure our brand message was aligned with our brands mission and vision.

Flight had created our brand logo and we were pleased with the work they performed and we were impressed with their creative process we decided to continue with their services.

I worked with Sam director of brand strategy and design, Delaina Director of systems and operations, Natalia project manager and Amanda marketing.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

As a result of the project our brand has a clear strategy and plan that will help us deliver our brand message to our customers.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

We had a project schedule that assisted with keeping us on track and had a clear plan of each phase of the project.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

I was impressed with their dedication to learning about our brand and understand our company before beginning their creative process.

Are there any areas for improvement?

They are very experienced and knowledgeable.

What challenge were you trying to address with Flight?

We hired Flight to help us modernize our website and create a brand. While we wanted the logo to be memorable yet subtle, we envisioned the site as a flashier, modern platform.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

We gave Flight carte blanche with the project but told them our preferences. They redesigned our website based on examples sites we sent them. They built the platform to enable file uploads and contact forms. Their team also created our logo according to our preferences.

What is the team composition?

I worked with 5–7 people on their team, including a designer and researcher.

How did you come to work with Flight?

I was impressed with the work Flight produced for my friend’s business. They also had strong communication skills and high-quality work, which led me to choose them over any other option.

How much have you invested with them?

For everything put together, we spent around $22,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

Our engagement ran from March 2018–February 2019.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Since the website launched, we’ve gained 22 new clients, which I directly attribute to the great work Flight produced. Also, my staff now has shirts and business cards with our logo on them.

How did Flight perform from a project management standpoint?

Flight was an incredibly professional team to work with. The only hiccups occurred when they required something from me, and I needed to be on top of things. Phone, email, and video conferences were our main forms of communication, which were helpful when trying to give my feedback on their designs.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Time and time again, they proved the customer was their priority. Flight was always willing to spend extra time making sure we were happy with the project.

Are there any areas they could improve?

I didn’t have any issues with our engagement.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Make sure you’re completely engaged with the project.

I work as a Communications Director for a small nonprofit. We provide information and resources to assist farmers with emergency preparedness related to livestock.

What challenge were you trying to address with Flight?

They designed our website and provide ongoing branding assistance.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

They were instrumental in designing our Webflow site. The web is our most direct way of sharing information with the public, so this was a major initial investment for us. They worked closely with my superior to craft the look and feel of the site and trained me on the backend to ensure I could make edits and updates in-house.

They also assist with branding for our advertising campaigns and newsletters, ensuring that the information we provide is as available as possible.

What is the team composition?

We work almost exclusively with Sam [Kraisig, Founder & Creative Director, Flight] and Michelle [Farrell, Founder & Interactive Director, Flight]. I work closely with Michelle on the website and my superior works with Sam on advertising design. We’re getting to know other members of their team as they grow.

How did you come to work with Flight?

My superior met Sam and Michelle in a coffee shop while casually discussing design elements with a friend. They hit it off and the rest is history.

How much have you invested with them?

We spend around $5,000 a month, totaling between $30,000–$50,000 over the last four years.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working together in March 2015 and our relationship is ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Our webpage analytics show positive results. Users love the design and it’s been a tremendous resource, especially during environmental emergencies when the information we provide is most needed.

How did Flight perform from a project management standpoint?

We communicate through email, phone calls, and text messages. We also meet in person every once in awhile to conduct a web review session.

Things can be chaotic on our end. We often give them new assignments with little warning, but they always accommodate us. Even as they’ve grown and taken on more clients, they’ve always made time for us as one of their oldest customers. They’re highly responsive and have helped us out during a number of emergencies.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They're very patient with us. They also have great design ideas. They’ve provided fabulous branding that’s really helped our organization make an impact.

Are there any areas they could improve?

When we first started working with Flight, they were a small, two-person shop. They’ve since expanded, which comes with some natural growing pains. Their transition to a larger company could have been handled better, but they still have a quality team that delivers excellent designs.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Communicate early and often in order to share your ideas. They're great vision-keepers, so the more they know about your company, the better. Invite them in as full team members.
