Whenever I need new business cards or want to change something, I contact Flat 6. Whenever they provide graphic designs for us, we use a collaborative process — Christos and I go back and forth with our ideas until he comes up with a design.

Christos is easy to get along with; he’s accessible and available for questions. Overall, working with them is easy.

Their project management is good in terms of meeting deadlines and staying on budget. To communicate, we use phone calls, emails, and in-person meetings. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

Christos is truly talented, and he has plenty of resources.

No, there aren’t any.

We were looking to come up with a new name for the company and a corresponding logo. And update our website.

A name that resonated. A look that was elegant, sleek, and professional.

I was aware of Christos's work via social media. I met with him and discussed the project and I liked his process and collaborative approach. He builds in several revises in the cost that made me feel comfortable. And the price was right on target for what I was looking to spend.

Our previous name was JB Talent. We were looking to rebrand to something that better embodied the spirit of collaboration of the team and not just the initials of individuals. We also needed a fresh logo and redesign of the website which hadn't been modified in 15 years.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

Already our website traffic is greatly increased. And we've had an overwhelming response in the industry not only to the name, but also the design and how great it looks--including several people wanting Flat6 Design's information to reach out and hire them.

I rebranded myself in a new architectural design company and I’m sole owner until I set up staff.

For what projects/services did your company hire Flat 6 Concepts?

I needed a sleek and enticing logo that would allow customers to understand my new and futuristic designs. I wanted a logo that would not only stand out but mean professional business.

What were your goals for this project?

I wanted a logo / rebranding fast. I had gone to someone else and that took over a month. When I first contacted Flat6concepts I had an idea in mind and knew they would get the job done within two weeks.

How did you select Flat 6 Concepts?

They are confident on the phone and precise with the direction i needed to head toward. They knew the architecture industry well enough to help me portray myself properly.

At first Flat6concepts was going to get me three to five ideas. That seemed fair but I need variety of options. Christos read me well and offered me nine options at first from the initial 11min conversation to get the ideas rolling. I quickly responded with my likes and dislikes and we kept a small handful of the nine to proceed towards. Flat6concepts quickly sent me another revision within hours, I reviewed again and then we had two!

All I can say is, I knew from the two phone conversations I had with Christos that he was going to have an idea for me quickly. His email heading read: “Mock ups of our favorite two designs“. I knew that with all hands on deck, this was a great team effort!

ONE WEEK! Exactly one week went by and we had a design / logo / rebranding that my wife and I loved. I didn’t think that we needed another week to refine anything. He even reached out to me on...well (last) Sunday afternoon to ask for my thoughts and I said, “Ok, do your thing”. Everything was finalized with the different versions and file formats that Monday morning! I’m extremely happy and I couldn’t wait to adorn my website and social media sites with my new look.

For Flat6concepts it was Christos and Sal vs. Katie and Dio. Only Christos and I emailed each other. No reason to bog up the thread with more people. One week of fast back and forth emails and limited phone calls and we had a new branding!

I touched on that all ready. It only took Flat6concepts a week to make me happy.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

I was so impressed with the flow that I wish the project went longer. Sad but true. I have another project for them and waiting to have some fun with this next one that I won’t need in a terrible hurry.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

They are specialists in their field. They ask the precise questions and get results without a lot of sugar-coating.

None whatsoever.

I am the owner and president of Viola PR and Design. We are a public relations and licensing firm, and my focus is on the home design and interiors industry.

What challenge were you trying to address with Flat 6 Concepts?

I’ve had the same logo and branding since I started my business in 2005, and when this January rolled around, I decided I really needed something fresh and new.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

I knew what I needed to do, so we were able to set up a pretty seamless system for all of the work. I would send them emails with ideas and suggestions for things I thought needed to be updated, and their team would quickly respond with their suggestions as well. Once we agreed on the specific deliverables, they would get to work and come back to me with the draft.

The first thing they did was develop a new logo for the company. They provided me with about six versions in a very short time, and from the beginning, there wasn’t a single one I didn’t love. From there, we overhauled the website to include all of the new collateral, working one step at a time there and developing a press release to go along with the launch as well.

He also helped me update and print my new business cards, and we are currently planning the future stages of the website overhaul. We have a long-term plan in place with specific goals every month to help guide the project as we go.

I work directly with the principal, so it’s a team of one.

How did you come to work with Flat 6 Concepts?

They were recommended to me by a good friend and client of mine, and I had a chance to work with them on behalf of another client before deciding that they would be a good fit for my company as well. I loved the way they worked, so it was an easy decision to make.

How much have you invested with them?

Each invoice can be anywhere from $350 to closer to $4,000 depending on the extent of the work. They’ve been very gracious in working with me financially to figure out what I can afford and what they can do for me for that budget. In total, the cost has been under $10,000 so far.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working with them in February 2020 and had completed most of our deliverables my mid-March, but we are continuing to wrap things up together at this point. I plan to continue working with them for all my future graphic needs.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

I haven’t launched the new brand deliverables yet, but I shared them with a friend and client who I have worked with for close to 20 years, and he just flipped over it. He could not believe how great it was, and quite a few people have mentioned their excitement about what we have rolled out to the website as well. I am incredibly excited about the reception I’m sure it will eventually receive.

How did Flat 6 Concepts perform from a project management standpoint?

They have performed above and beyond my expectations. Their organizational skills are absolutely excellent, and they always circle back with me immediately any time I send them a message about a request or a question that I have. If it’s something that they can’t complete immediately, they’ll always give me an approximate time of when it will be.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Their owner brings a creativity to the projects that you rarely see. They have an incredible ability to take verbal cues and requirements and turn them into something really visually provocative and exciting. Flat 6 Concepts continually surprises me with their creativity and artistry in all of their work.

Are there any areas they could improve?

No, there’s nothing I think they should do differently at all.

Tell them what you’re looking for, and if it’s in line with your needs, do not hesitate to hire them.

I am a facial plastic surgeon who specializes in surgical and non-surgical facial aesthetics. I moved to Los Angeles in 2011 and worked with Flat 6 to create my first website, design, and branding.

We needed a rebrand of the company and numerous brand assets.

What were your goals for this project?

The goals of the project were to differentiate us in the minds of our target demographic, as well as, cause us to stand out in world full of brands regardless of the industry.

How did you select this vendor?

I was attending an open house and picked up a magazine that was being handed out at the event. As I looked through the magazine, there was only one page that really caught my attention. I then reached out to Flat 6 Concepts, met with Christos Joannides and knew we had found the right company to execute our rebrand.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

The rebranding Flat 6 Concepts executed has been received greatly internally and externally across the numerous sectors with which we interact.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

The workflow has been almost seamless throughout the duration of our numerous projects. Our team continues to have great communication to date which has consisted of simply emails and occasional phone calls. Flat 6 Concepts responds well to feedback and we have yet to have any instance where ego impeded anything our respective teams were aiming to accomplish.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

We were really impressed with how quickly they grasped and identified numerous ways to elevate our objectives, their international design and philosophical sensibilities and the ease of working with Flat 6 Concepts. It took all of two meetings to seem as if they had been part of our team from the beginning.

Starting with myself, everyone will always have room for improvement. That being said, we had zero complaints and were completely satisfied with the finished product.

I needed a website with e-commerce capabilities. We also needed branding for all our products. I needed someone who could create a unique, elegant, and strong story in a clear and concise way.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Flat 6 Concepts develops the front- and backend of our e-commerce site. Their team uploads our graphics and wrote all our content including our videos and two books. They edit, photoshop, and format our content to be uploaded to social media platforms like Instagram.

In addition, they design our branding, logos, and signage for our commercial projects such as bags, candle boxes, and water bottles. For all our projects, they help us from conception of the designs to installation of the finished product.

Everyone's pretty blown away by the website and store from the moment they click on it. Their storytelling and branding are consistently elegant, luxurious, and high class. Our customers always come back to buy the products he designs for us. Their designers always nail the look and feel we want.

They don’t take on too many projects at a time to ensure they deliver hands-on, high-quality work. I've been nothing but pleased with the whole process. We communicate daily via phone and email, and they hold your hand through the whole process.

I’m the owner of K Kong Designs. We’re a small interior design company that specializes in both high-end residential and commercial projects.

After working for a large architecture firm for ten years, I decided to start my own company. Initially, I created the logo and had my team put together a functioning website. My business grew over the years and I realized we needed more professional branding to attract the clientele we wanted to serve. We needed a service provider to facilitate a rebranding effort.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Flat 6 Concepts designed a new logo and redesigned our existing website. They also created a letterhead, business cards, and changed the font on our proposals to ensure consistent branding across all of our marketing materials. They collaborated with us to deliver a product that met our needs. This included offering several logo options and revising them per our feedback.

I wanted an elegant design that would showcase our work and clearly communicate the quality of our deliverables. A busy interface would only take away from that. I’m proud of our current brand and logo. I love the business cards and they designed a site that makes us stand out. I felt these things were lacking in my business and Flat 6 Concepts provided them. I’m happy to display our materials to clients.

How did Flat 6 Concepts perform from a project management standpoint?

We put our imagery into a Dropbox file and they worked with everything from there. Beyond that, we communicated via phone and email. They’re extremely productive and have a quick turnaround time for what they produce. If anything, I slowed down the process by reviewing their work and requesting changes.

What did you find most impressive about them?

In my experience, a lot of companies lack accountability and aren’t responsive. It’s difficult to find vendors that do what they promise and take pride in their work. From that perspective, Flat 6 Concepts outperforms most service providers in the market. It’s been a collaborative and easy process.

Are there any areas they could improve?

There was a small issue of formatting the website for laptop use. We went back and forth on that for a while, but they managed to figure everything out. I’m about to contact them for more work. I wouldn’t be doing that if I wasn’t happy with their overall performance.

Be aware that communication is key and they’re limited only by the amount of information you provide.
