• Engagement metrics from social media platforms. 
• Performance of custom implemented online petition platform (constructed separately from our engagement with Five Seasons) which garnered thousands of signatures within a 3 week period.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

Working with Five Seasons Media for the past half year has been remarkable. Our organization has electrified our engagement within social media to an extraordinary extent, extending our reach and the depth of connection with our existing membership and with newly attracted members. The group has a great depth of understanding of the platform rules and cultural approach to how to position all types of organizations within social media as well as how to leverage the technology. 

Many organizations that may not have approached social media with the advice and nurture of a professional organization like Five Seasons Media may not understand the best way to sustain the regular refreshment of content that is necessary to keep interaction fresh and users fulfilled. User counts are fine, but when an organization needs action on behalf of grassroots members there is a difference. 

Our group was able to gather thousands of petition signatures in only a few weeks through sustained plans we worked on together. Guided consulting in social media is also fiscally efficient. Five Seasons Media guides us in the most effective way to place targeted advertising on social media platforms. This increases the impact of each campaign. 

I would highly recommend any organization that is ready to grow in size and impact start by speaking with this team and consider an effective partnership.

Are there any areas for improvement or something Five Seasons Media could have done differently?

I would add periodic online Zoom or WebEx meetings with key team members of the entire Five Seasons Media team assigned to our projects and our key organization members. We are a volunteer organization spread geographically across a state. Our group is older and not yet comfortable with newer technologies. This kind of use of online meetings would be helpful to introduce new concepts and the capabilities the Five Seasons can use with our projects.

The Shelby County Chamber of Commerce and Industry is the Chamber of Commerce and Economic Development office for Shelby County, Iowa. I am the Executive Director.

We hired Fives Seasons to refresh our social media page and create a marketing video for Shelby County.

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

After multiple discussions with Josh I was very impressed with Five Seasons approach to our needs. Very professional, very creative.

Describe the project in detail and walk through the stages of the project.

After initial conversations to frame the project, Five Seasons immediately took over our daily social media posts. They created very visual posts with multiple calls to action. They responded very quickly to comments from our following audience. And they pushed the posts out to regions we are attempting to recruit new residents from.

Then, Five Seasons came to Shelby County and created a couple of very impressive marketing videos "starring" residents who met the profile of our target audience. Those videos were pushed through our social media pages and YouTube to a very targeted audience. After the videos built an audience, Five Seasons sent out a press release to targeted media outlets that provided us with some great additional earned media. This took place from November 2022 through January 2023.

Multiple individuals were included in the production of our project including Josh, the Chief Creative Officer, Lindsay, the Media Specialist, and multiple video support individuals.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

Between our social media page and YouTube, the videos created received over 130,000 views. Over 40,000 individuals engaged with the videos and that number continues to grow. With the updated media posts, we saw a 354% increase in our reach over the previous 3 months and a 65% increase in overall followers.

Workflow was great. Very responsive to questions and always on time with delivery.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

Their creativity was fantastic. Very eye catching, very engaging. Their professionalism is unsurpassed and they are very open to discussing direction and process with you.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

Not really - great group to work with.

I’m the VP of a small PR firm called The Concept Works, located in Iowa. We work with a national nonprofit and do communications for this company. They deliver revolutionary medical technology to Veteran Affairs (VA) hospitals across the country. This technology includes VR hardware and software to help with post-traumatic stress and exoskeleton suits to help paralyzed patients to stand better and walk again.

What challenge were you trying to address with Five Seasons Media?

For two years, we saw no real growth on our social media pages, specifically on Facebook. We weren’t getting new followers or likes; our activity was stale, and we had the same people engaging. Therefore, we connected our client with Five Seasons Media for social media marketing (SMM).

What was the scope of their involvement?

We collaborate daily with Five Seasons Media to produce social media content for our client. Their team develops content for our daily social media posts, mainly focusing on Facebook. Additionally, they curate veteran-specific articles that followers like to see. We constantly try to keep our content positive, so they always focus on identifying positive newsworthy stories to share.

Five Seasons Media also creates graphic designs for us and writes the copy for our posts. We usually post content three times a day, several days a week. These posts help us share our story and connect with people who support the veteran population and our work. Five Seasons Media has also produced some videos in the past to share veterans’ stories and highlight our campaign initiatives for fundraising.

What is the team composition?

I mainly work with Josh (CCO) and Lindsay (Director of Business Development) daily; they’re in charge of sending over the drafts for the social media posts for me to approve. I’ve also worked with Drew (Creative Specialist), who is often on our email chains as well. He is in charge of graphic design, and he has been involved in video production.

How did you come to work with Five Seasons Media?

Before Five Seasons Media started operating, Josh was a journalist at one of the affiliates in Eastern Iowa. My boss also had a long career in journalism before opening the PR firm, so they knew each other from that space. My boss reconnected with Josh when he launched Five Seasons Media, and he knew about his work ethic. When we realized that our client could benefit from Five Seasons Media’s services, we engaged with them.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working with them in June 2020, and we still continue to work with them.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Five Seasons Media has helped us reach a phenomenal amount of people on social media. We now have a lot more comments, likes, and overall engagement on our Facebook posts, and people seem to respond positively to the content we share. Thanks to this, we’ve grown our presence on social media.

Having people engage and respond positively on social media has been a huge success. It means that Five Seasons Media is doing their job to the best of their ability, helping us improve our client’s credibility. The team has proven their value through the results they’ve achieved and the growth of our client’s social media channels.

As for their work, Five Seasons Media has delivered phenomenal designs, and they’re great at identifying positive veteran news. Their team excels at capturing the spirit of our mission through their posts, and they do a great job at conveying the stories of veterans who have been helped with our client’s technology. Additionally, the videos they’ve produced have been excellent, and they’ve delivered them very quickly.

As general feedback, we’ve established a great relationship with Five Seasons Media. They work very fast and listen to our needs. They usually send posts for us to approve, and 98% of the time, they’re perfect as is without any edits. Our team really enjoys working with them. They don’t only listen to our requirements, but they also give us very solid advice when needed.

How did Five Seasons Media perform from a project management standpoint?

Five Seasons Media is very consistent, and they always deliver things on time or ahead of time. Their team is very proactive; they get ahead of things and keep our lines of communication open, allowing us to have an easy and seamless partnership.

Five Seasons Media has been particularly good at time management. Things usually take time, and we set timeline expectations for each project. One time, we needed a video to be delivered faster than the expected timeline, and they were very accommodating about that. They understood our need and were able to deliver the video sooner than it would have normally taken, which we really appreciated.

Moreover, Five Seasons Media is very good at communicating and listening. I’m in contact with them every day, and they’re very easy to reach out to. They answer immediately and jump on Zoom or phone calls whenever we need to talk things through. Additionally, they listen to our ideas, present theirs, and mix those ideas to deliver great assets based on their experience.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Five Seasons Media does a really good job at presenting growth data and analytics in an understandable way for people not knowledgeable about social media. They make it easy for us to understand what they’re doing and the results they’re providing. Additionally, their approach makes our communication easier because everything makes sense and is very simple.

Moreover, we were originally looking for a company that could help us with copywriting and content development. Many companies weren’t interested in helping us with that side of the engagement, and they wanted to focus more on the analytics side of it. Thus, working with Five Seasons Media has made our efforts very simple because we know the content we post meets great quality standards.

Are there any areas they could improve?

No. The services that they provide are pretty simple and straightforward. They’ve always met our expectations and delivered what we’ve asked for.

We serve clients in the transportation, municipality, nonprofit and manufacturing industries by delivering brand awareness strategies. Our client, in the waterway shipping industry, had never had formal media relations training, thus causing a hesitancy to pitch story ideas to local media, a discomfort with on-camera interviews and a lack of understanding of the brand awareness opportunities with this area of public relations.

Josh and Five Seasons Media came highly recommended from one of Josh's former colleagues, and Resolute's go-to video content producer in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

Our team worked closely with the videographer and Josh (Five Seasons Media) to develop a half-day media relations training with these goals in mind for our client:

1. Increase brand awareness for Tulsa Ports, measurable by website traffic and social media engagement
2. Increase media relations activity for Tulsa Ports, measurable my tracking coverage in a media value report
3. Develop Crisis Communications Plan for Tulsa Ports in months following training

Because of Josh's extensive experience in investigative journalism, a big focus was how to field crisis interviews, etc. In addition to a presentation, Josh and team conducted "mock interviews" on camera with our client's executive leadership. We watched them back, while Josh and team provided feedback on what worked, what could be improved and to assist our client in becoming comfortable with interviews.

Since the training, our client has allowed our account team to proactively pitch story ideas to local and national media. In addition, they've identified spokespersons on their team, developed and crisis communication plan and budgeted for an additional training in the new fiscal year. It has also improved communication between their team and ours, as they quickly loop us in any time they get a call from the media or there is a crisis situation.

The project and communication with Five Seasons Media were very collaborative leading up to the training with our client. We (Resolute) have a long partnership with our client and while Josh is the expert in this field, he also was open to our team's suggestions for incorporating our client's needs into the training.

Their commitment to both our goals and our client's needs, as well as Josh's extensive experience that elevated the quality of the training.

Unfortunately, because of how the fair and the affiliated organization are set up, there aren’t specific metrics or analytics to speak to the impact of Five Seasons Media’s work. 

However, their team is great to work with. They do their best to use their knowledge about the Facebook algorithm to get us the best possible organic growth on our Facebook page. They’ve really helped us understand how the entire process works, from start to finish.

Their team is very organized and communicates well — they go above and beyond to ensure we are always taken care of promptly. Our industry constantly changes, so they communicate clearly with us to ensure we’re using the correct terminology.
