We hired Figment Agency to help us with SEO to improve our rankings and generate ticket sales.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Figment Agency runs all of our SEO using the keywords I gave them that I want to rank for. They’ve also rectified our site errors, migrating us to a new server to improve our website speed. Figment Agency has also redesigned the site and created blogs and backlinks to companies relevant to our industry. At the moment, they’re running the site security and tracking bugs.

I work with Steve (Managing Director), Emma (Head of SEO), and a blog writer.

I Googled SEO agencies that specialized in WordPress in the UK. I found Figment Agency’s website and was comfortable with them because they were based where I used to live. I read their reviews and then hired them.

We invest around £1,000 (approximately $1,200 USD) a month with Figment Agency.

My engagement with Figment Agency began in June 2020, and it’s ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

My company has ranked within the top three results for the top 20 keywords I gave Figment Agency. It took about six months for me to see results, but Figment Agency’s work has really improved my organic traffic — it’s 251% higher than last year. Their work has helped me double my site traffic from my pre-COVID-19 numbers.

Figment Agency works within my timelines and budget. Typically, we communicate through email.

I am the Digital & Marketing Manager for Henfield Storage, a self storage company with several locations in London and the South-East of England.

For what projects/services did your company hire Figment Agency, and what were your goals?

After neglecting our SEO for many years our traffic had been declining and we had fallen behind our competitors; this was significantly affecting growth and revenue. We set out to find an agency with the aim of substantially improving our organic and local SEO.

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

We interviewed several agencies, of various sizes and price points. Figment Agency impressed us immensely with their passion, attention to detail and crucially our anticipation that they would be able to provide the close working relationship we desired.

This was something that in our experience larger agencies rarely provide.

We began with a discovery meeting, and agreed on the following:

• which keywords to target
• our content strategy
• a review of our competitors
• our overall targets and goals

Each month they did the following:

• Worked closely with myself and our website development team to execute the various plans and actions required.
• Executed a well thought-out and comprehensive tiered link building strategy
• Improved our on-page SEO by cleaning-up and optimising our website content
• Created and published landing pages, blog posts and articles, to fit with our overall strategy
• Built local citations for local SEO improvement
• Provided a comprehensive monthly report of all work done that period, the position and historic fluctuations of all our targeted keywords, overall ranking tracking, overall local SEO tracking for each of our locations

Additional projects:

• They initially assessed and then performed a full citation clean-up.
• They initially reviewed and then fixed any issues with our various Google My Business profiles including creating one from scratch.

We initially, and for a long period, worked directly with both Steve (Manging Director) and Emma (Head of SEO). Later we also worked with Dhana (SEO Manager). All were excellent, and provided us with the attention and dedication we had hoped when originally choosing Figment Agency.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

Overall it was a hugely successful project. In approximately 12 months our organic traffic literally doubled, surpassing our original goals. In addition each of our various company locations was ranking highly for local SEO.

This increase in organic traffic translated directly to an increase in online interest and phone calls . It also meant that we were able to greatly reduce what we spent on paid advertising. Ultimately we saw a significant return on the investment we had made with Figment Agency.

They were fantastic, always providing high quality work in a timely manner. They were knowledgeable, passionate about their work, dedicated and attentive to our goals and wishes.

Their friendly yet professional style was perfect for us and we appreciated that immensely. The monthly reports they provided were crucial for us to monitor progress and make important business decisions.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

We felt that we received the high quality work usually only delivered by a large agency, whilst also enjoying the close, friendly and attentive relationship provided by a smaller agency. In short with Figment Agency we got the best of both worlds.

I am the principle chiropractor at a chiropractic clinic in Woking, Surrey. We focus on the diagnosis and treatment of chronic pain and dizziness.

We needed our website to perform better on Goggle and other search engines. We had reached a plateau with our original website designer and wanted Figment Agency to help us step into the top search results.

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

I searched for SEO company, Surrey and Figment were the top result. I tried a few other search terms and they came top each time. I took that as a sign that they were beating their competition. We arranged our initial meeting and they clearly had experience with other healthcare businesses and understood what our goals would be. Steve was very friendly, approachable and understanding. He didn't try to upsell or degrade what we already had in place. He was very professional.

The initial phase was to analyse how the website was performing. Once complete, they showed me clear data on the websites health and a clear plan to improve it. They set out a clear plan to improve the speed and design of the website, as well as improving the SEO performance.

I had contact with 4 members of their team. One wrote new copy for the website. One worked on the design and coding. One analysed search terms and focused on SEO. One oversaw the operation and was my main point of contact.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

Before using Figment Agency, we'd swing from a busy week to a quieter week. From about 3 months into our contract with Figment our business saw a steady increase in business and we've been fully booked since. I see them as an extension of my business and essential in keeping my business busy.

They have always been very quick to answer emails and questions. They've always been polite, understanding and honest. I haven't had any complaints or grievances. They are friendly, relaxed and calm.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

Steve and Emma really took the time to understand our business. They are genuinely excited to see our business thriving and take pride in being part of that success.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

I've been so pleased with their performance that I've been completely hands-off. I haven't had to ask them for anything or to change anything. Dealing with the website was one of the worst parts of my job and I haven't had to do that at all for over a year.

What challenge were you trying to address with Figment Agency?

The website we had built was super outdated and it just wasn’t scalable for us to grow. We needed someone to re-platform the website, including its backend, and how we reported sales. This is so that everything was a little bit more out of the box, and easy for us to add things as we grow.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Figment came in with the full development of our e-commerce website. They built this website using WordPress with WooCommerce subscriptions.

Initially, we worked with a designer that was independent of Figment to create wireframes and designs for the site — we did the customer login section ourselves. Figment built out the website page by page, and one of the key things we wanted was for it to be usable by our marketing team.

A lot of the issues we had with the old site included the fact that we struggled to build landing pages for our campaigns. Figment built everything and created the format for us to easily add and edit pages.

Additionally, they went through the development with a technical approach, and they would make suggestions that hadn’t been quite fully thought out. The core of our business was a period care subscription company, so people can either buy products from us once, or they can subscribe to have them delivered regularly.

There were quite a lot of nuances when it came to how things worked, but Figment was really good at hashing those nuances out. Since we were still in that startup/scaleup phase, it was really a crucial leap for us to make sure we had everything ironed out.

Initially, I spoke to Steve (Managing Director), and after we started the project, we communicated mostly with Carl (Web Developer) and Michael (Tech Support). Both Carl and Michael worked with our developer.

I found them through an agency that I approached to do the job, and they recommended Figment to us.

How much have you invested with them?

We invested around $20,000 until the end.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started speaking to them long before the project started. Then, we started working on the actual build in November 2020–February 2021.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

We had pretty strong feedback from our customers. Additionally, we had a blog that was separate from the website, but since we moved that blog onto our site, we experienced more traffic. The Figment team made the changes to the platform that we required, and they made it a little easier to work with because it was so much more out of the box.

How did Figment Agency perform from a project management standpoint?

It was a bit difficult at first because the design phases needed to run a little longer. To help quicken things up, they jumped straight into the build, which happened over Christmas. I thought the project was well-managed, although there was this one instance when they were about to go over their allotted time to finish the project, they still finished the work and it was still on budget. It was my first time running this kind of project and it wasn’t really a big issue.

I didn’t really work with them, they instead worked with our developers. However, by all accounts, they worked together really well. They responded really quickly to anything that we did, they communicated consistently through Slack, and when it came time for the QA phase, they worked very well with the team on our side. They had a spreadsheet of issues to identify, and our devs were able to report — it was just a really good flow of communications.

We felt like they were always on point. When I did work with them, I had a real taste of how responsive and thorough they were when it came to accomplishing the tasks.

What did you find most impressive about them?

I felt like Colin and Michael genuinely cared about the project. The way that they worked with us definitely felt like we were part of one team, rather than a separate agency. They were a pair of extra hands that were very knowledgeable about what they were doing. Above all, they responded really well to the changes that we had, and it didn’t seem like it was too much effort for them.

Are there any areas they could improve?

The only thing that was a slight negative was the surprise invoice, but it wasn’t an issue in the end, because they had to work on the project during Christmas time.

Moreover, we felt that it was a lot more weight on the time scales instead of the design side of things. I just think allowing more time, and being more involved in the design stage would’ve been a good thing to do differently.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Make sure that there is enough time to do the design side of things, and update them to see if they are able to factor that into their side of the work. I highly recommend them for the job because they seem to genuinely care about the project.

I’m a director of Surry Hills Garden Buildings. We’re a family business that sells and installs garden rooms, sheds, greenhouses, and garages mainly in London and southeast England.

What challenge were you trying to address with Figment Agency?

It’s a very traditional business, with people coming into our physical sites, but with people turning to their phones, or computers, or tablets when they need to find something nowadays, we needed to grow our web presence.

Figment Agency built our new website and increased the foot traffic to our physical site. Beyond that, they developed an online platform where people could buy our products.

What was the scope of their involvement?

The first task was to develop a very good website, which I think they’ve done. There’s still work to do, but they got the site up and running. They supplied photographers and text to get the website to the point where we were all happy with it.

The second part was to develop our SEO rankings and online platform that we could sell from, which has just been developed. There’s a lot more to go, but they were helpful in putting together the scope and framework behind it.

Steve (Managing Director) is my main point of contact, but there are 3–4 others who are specific in different areas. Emma (Head of SEO) helps out with the SEO work, and other resources work on the technical tasks, such as setting up the website.

How did you come to work with Figment Agency?

We’re part of an enterprise group in our area; Figment presented at one of these meetings, and I liked their offerings. They understood what we were trying to do, and we tested the waters for a little while. I firmly believe that you have to invest in digital to make it work, and we’ve developed a strong relationship with them.

We invest around £20,000 pounds (approximately $27,000 USD) every year with them.

What is the status of this engagement?

We’ve been working together since June 2018. I plan to increase what we do with them, including developing our social media and growing our online selling platform. We’re going to meet in one month to discuss our next steps. Everyone has had a reality check this past year, but the relationship is going strong.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We’ve been receiving email inquiries for over five years — normally they’re negligible — and since we brought on Figment three years ago, we’ve received over 1,000. Those leads are directly attributable to the website they delivered. The conversion rate for these leads is quite high as well. In real terms, we’ve sold between 300–400 buildings solely because of our investment in the website.

These numbers also stand out because we’re based in a fairly remote location. Figment’s SEO and website work have made it so that I’m fielding calls from all over the UK. If people search for us in our region and are looking for the sort of buildings we provide, then we show up in the Google rankings.

How did Figment Agency perform from a project management standpoint?

I get updates every month in the form of a report. They’ve also set us up on a platform that allows me to follow engagement on our website — the tawk.to platform. I can see, in real-time, who is on the website and what they’re looking at, which helps me decide how to engage them. Figment keeps me in the loop on everything.

We have regular meetings once or twice a month, including a scheduled call with Steve very month, to talk through where we are. Figment’s feedback, reporting, and accountability are very good.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Figment Agency's personnel stand out, and the communication is very good. Figment Agency is very easy to talk to. We stated our goal in the beginning, and they understood it quickly. They’re always very positive and solution-oriented. Everybody likes to work with people they find enjoyable, but Figment also delivers on what they say they will.

They always call me back, and if there are issues — there have been very few — they deal with them quickly. I never feel like I’m chasing them. I drive everything through them and take their advice. They’re quite like an expert — having someone to speak to that isn’t traditionally aligned with our market is very helpful as well.

Are there any areas they could improve?

It’s difficult to say in the time of COVID-19, but if there was going to be any growth, it needs to happen on our side. It’s on the customer to come up with the goals they want to achieve, and it’s up to the vendor to respond to them.

Like any relationship, you build a rapport with the people you’re working with. Understand that Figment is very easy to talk to; they make it clear what they can do for you. There are no illusions; you’re not going to get something that you don’t want or understand.

Be very clear about what your goals are and where you want to be. Figment will be very clear about what areas they can help with.
