Please describe your company and your position there.

I was the head of digital strategy for Terminix Pest Control. I oversaw their marketing campaigns and e-commerce tools.

For what projects/services did your company hire Fifty Seven Pounds?

Fifty Seven Pounds worked as our technology partner to manage our customer-facing website. We hired them to create a site that would educate our customers and rank highly on search engines.

What were your goals for this project?

We wanted Fifty Seven Pounds to implement a self-service e-commerce experience based on branch-level product data. We were also hoping to use an agile software development approach to quickly bring our website to market.

Fifty Seven Pounds delivered an updated CMS and client-facing e-commerce website. They provided an SEO content strategy in addition to designing and building the site.

What was the team composition?

The team included an architect, a lead developer, several senior developers, a project manager, a business analyst, and a QA engineer.

How was project management arranged and how effective was it?

The Fifty Seven Pounds team did an excellent job of adapting their style to our company culture. They occasionally worked with our team on-site and went above and beyond to learn the nuances of our industry. Additionally, they always listened when we gave feedback about increasing resources, and their team effectively handled critical components of the project, which kept us on track.

Despite having a fixed schedule and budget, the scope continued to morph throughout the lifecycle of the project. Fifty Seven Pounds was able to react and pivot to the changes while still meeting our project goals. They walked us through every adjustment so that we were never surprised by the effects.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

Their size allowed them to be agile with their team structure, and the entire company was committed to the success of the project. Every person that they put on the account had the proper experience for their role and delivered valuable work.

Their team also worked with our vendors and business partners on our behalf. This not only improved the output of the project but also saved my team a significant amount of time.

Are there any areas for improvement?

We needed to remove a few items from our project scope to meet our fixed budget and timeline. This wasn’t ideal, but Fifty Seven Pounds empowered us to make this decision by recommending what we should remove from scope based on relative effort and business value.
