I’m a senior marketing consultant at a large IT firm. 

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

What challenge were you trying to address with Fair Worlds?

We sell data centers and IT infrastructure to large scale customers. However, it’s hard to show customers the engineering magic and the scale of these data centers without physically transporting the data center itself. We wanted to create experiences and collateral that would allow new and existing customers to feel like they’re standing in the data center and interacting with the IT solutions. The content would also be used internally to raise awareness about our team’s capabilities.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

We had great brainstorming sessions with many subject matter experts in a room together. This enabled us to navigate what would be the most beneficial near and long term and most cost-effective. They have since created AR and VR solutions, interactive web demos and traditional video assets and marketing collateral that bring our infrastructure solutions to life. We continue to expand on projects over time and they have created an impressive library of assets for our sales organization to leverage.

What is the team composition?

At our busiest times, I interact almost daily with two contacts based in Austin: Erik (Co-Founder & Chief Creative Officer, Fair Worlds) and Brad (Producer, Fair Worlds). Both are responsive, calm under pressure and bring laughs and creativity to each project. On the backend, there are a number of developers from both Austin and Seattle. Erik and Brad clearly articulated project goals and expectations to the developers so projects were seamless from concept to launch.

How did you come to work with Fair Worlds?

Initially, since our team had no prior experience with VR projects, we had a brainstorming session with internal colleagues that work on gaming devices. These colleagues recommended a number of agencies, and we reached out to all of them to gather quotes and hold initial conversations.

Fair Worlds had a competitive cost, came highly recommended and were based in the same city. Their personality and communication style appealed to us—they were very responsive. They also had a lot of experience doing a large variety of creative projects for our company, including AR and videos.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working together in November 2017. We had an aggressive timeline to complete our first VR experience by February 2018. We were so pleased with the results that the partnership continues today, and our assets continue to grow.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

The solutions have been beneficial to us, and everything was delivered almost better than expected. The products have raised awareness internally, and we’ve had a number of sales engagements with customers leveraging Fair Worlds’ work.

How did Fair Worlds perform from a project management standpoint?

They are fantastic at project management. I received regular updates from them – both formally and informally. We try to touch base weekly to discuss all the various project elements. We communicate via the phone and email, and they also have a task tracker on their backend. Their plan for the timeline is very clear up front, so we’re always on the same page and there are no surprises.

Eric and Brad have never let anything get lost in translation when communicating with the developers. I appreciate their flexibility because my schedule can get kind of crazy. Whenever new deadlines or new requests pop up, I can always get in touch with them. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

When we started the project, AR and VR were still relatively new, and Fair Worlds was excellent at guiding us through the process. Now I feel like they’re an extension of my team—they’re a familiar face and everyone knows them. They are fun to work with—they’re characters in the best way. 

I’m impressed with the quality of their work and the breadth of their capabilities. I’ve learned over time that their solutions can change everything from a marketing standpoint. One computer-generated model can be optimized on their end for AR, VR, 360 demos, traditional videos, etc. It’s a game changer.

Are there any areas they could improve?

They’re almost too talented and creative. Sometimes we have to slow down and map out near and long-term goals against budget and business plans. However, that’s a really good thing. They’re always thinking ahead to better solutions.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

My advice would be to schedule a brainstorming session with subject matter experts in the room. From there, let Fair Worlds work their creative magic. They’ll come back with ideas and can execute against the plan beautifully.
