Please describe your company and your position there.

I work as a communication assistant for an international non-governmental membership organization that gathers 24 institutional members from 19 countries dealing with educational matters. Its mission is promoting flexible, participatory, evidence-based, and transparent education policies reflecting open society values.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

For what projects/services did your company hire Explanatorro?

We needed to hire an external partner to create an animated video in the style of those produced by the RSA (Royal Society for the encouragement of Arts, Manufactures and Commerce).

What were your goals for this project?

We wanted a promotional/informative video to disseminate an EU project’s results and features to a broad audience.

How did you select this vendor?

We found them via an online search.

Describe the video(s) and the process in detail.

Explanatorro met with us to agree on the general guidelines for the video. Then their team started to get acquainted with the details of the project. We provided them some materials and they also did their own research.

Next they produced a draft script that was presented in our office. Lastly, they began the animation process. We requested only minor changes, which they made before finalizing the video.

What was your vendors' project management or feedback process?

We commented and revised the draft script, along with our project partners. Explanatorro incorporated the changes and came back with a final version of the script. A draft of the video was sent to us for comments as well.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

We have not yet widely disseminated the video. However, our EU project partners are very satisfied with the output. The video premiered to a small audience during a seminar, and it was generally appreciated.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

The cooperation was good and smooth. They adapted their timing to our other obligations. Explanatorro made the extra effort when we asked them to move up the release of the video earlier than expected.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

Their experience and ability to tailor the output according to our input was remarkable. Explanatorro approached the project with enthusiasm ever since the early stages.

Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m a co-founder of Svinaweb, an online digital marketing academy. We began six years ago as a digital marketing agency for small and medium businesses, but we’ve also identified an opportunity in the education industry.

What challenge were you trying to address with Explanatorro?

Our main goal was to create LMS (Learning Management System) videos for our academy.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

It isn’t easy to educate online, so LMS videos were to be our primary resource. We had a lot of knowledge, but our obstacle was how to make our services easy for our users.

The scope was large, including over 100 hours of video as well as all the production involved in the post-filming process. We’ve also done webinars and different types of videos, and other projects such as animations.

What is the team composition?

I work with four people including Bruno (CEO, Explanatorro) who was our main point of contact, a copywriter, and a couple of other people.

How much have you invested in them?

We have spent around €20,000 (approximately $22,370 USD).

What is the status of this engagement?

We began working with them in June 2017, and it is an ongoing relationship.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Explanatorro’s knowledge of digital marketing, as well as the range of services they offer made the project much more successful. Our main goal was satisfaction from our customers. We have more than 600 people in the academy and they’re all pleased with the videos and their content. They’re still in use as the quality is good and the information is interesting.

After doing some analysis, we definitely saw a measurable impact on our business. This was mostly in terms of customer satisfaction, but also the success of some videos in our marketing channel.

How did Explanatorro perform from a project management standpoint?

I was delighted to work with them. The ease of communication combined with their knowledge in marketing and business was great. It was a large project, but things were delivered on time and we were never left out. Bruno is one of the best partners we’ve had.

What did you find most impressive about them?

We had a great connection with Explanatorro because they really understood digital marketing and knew what was important when making videos. Their expertise was the best part of our cooperation and made them stand out from their competition.

They added a lot of creativity to our work. LMS videos can be quite boring, but the addition of animation and their creativity was a big help to us.

Are there any areas they could improve?

Some technical skills could be improved, but that’s normal in a digital environment and is mainly an issue for them internally.
