I’m the director of a creative video production house. We primarily work on advertising media productions and also do high-end commercial photography.

What challenge were you trying to address with Exegy Consulting?

I was a bit skeptical about SEO because I’d been burned in the past. I hired someone I didn’t know, and they got me blacklisted on Google. I was a bit nervous but took a leap to work with Exegy Consulting. Essentially, I hired them to improve my position on search results.

What was the scope of their involvement?

They handled SEO and content marketing. Their team wrote articles for one of my clients, and I was involved in the review process. We focused on some heavy projects dealing with the creation of websites and email banners.

I worked with three individuals.

The project ran from May 2018–January 2019.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

They brought the desired results we were looking for. We hit our keywords and landed within the first two pages of the search results. On top of that, we’re the first position when our location is added to the keyword. All-in-all, the engagement was a good experience. Exegy Consulting was transparent in improving our search ranking position and keeping up with Google’s guidelines.

Exegy Consulting has great technical expertise in SEO. They know their stuff and keep themselves up-to-date. It’s clear they know the digital marketing space and how to track spending to make dollars go further. Overall, their team has a good understanding of our businesses’ brand and communications. It was nice to know they understood where I was coming from.

How did Exegy Consulting perform from a project management standpoint?

Their team was very responsive especially considering how intensive some of our projects were. Often times, I needed changes done quickly and they’d accomplish them. There was lots of back and forth feedback. People were contacting me daily and kept me up-to-date through reports.

Are there any areas they could improve?

From the get-go, they were very clear that the content would be meaningful. With that being said, it took a lot of effort on my side to make it meaningful because no one else knows their business better than they do. I found myself falling behind on the tasks they gave me. Perhaps they could figure out a way to move forward when clients are too busy.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Be aware that the engagement is not a one-sided process. You have to be quite active and participate to see results. Be proactive in order to get the maximum ROI.

I am the President at CasaOne. CasaOne helps businesses and individuals experience furniture, fixture, and equipment (FF&E) with an on-demand, turnkey solution.

We did not want to build out an in-house digital marketing team early on when we were getting started. Exegy came onboard to help us with all the Digital Marketing initiatives.

Capture the intent on google and other lead gen platforms. Increase traffic and focus on signups

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

Exegy was instrumental in setting up the digital marketing platform for us. They worked with our internal teams, understood our needs and solved the problems for us. This was very crucial for us especially when we did not want to build an internal team. Exegy helped scale our LA and DC markets.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

I personally never felt Sameer and team were an 'external' team and for all practical purposes they were very much involved in 360 degree of the business. Sameer and team were very curious to learn about business road map and made quick adjustments to align it to their marketing initiatives.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

The team was excellent. Exegy had made clear distinction and had leaders for SEO, Brand, SEM verticals. It was easy for us to talk to the right person for the right impact.

I was the general manager for a tech consulting firm. The company works on very niche technologies.

What challenge were you trying to address with Exegy Consulting?

In order to increase awareness of the services we provide, we had to go through a process of digital outreach. We weren’t quite up to the mark when it came to several of our competitors. We were looking for digital marketing consultants or partners that could help us put together a digital marketing plan.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

We initially engaged with Exegy Consulting for an audit of how we fare in comparison to the latest trends in digital marketing. We also gave them a list of competitors to do a comparison against. 

The team conducted a fairly extensive study, starting from all our digital assets like the website, looking at the Google Analytics and comments on the website design, and determining whether it’s articulating the true services that we provide. We didn’t know a lot of this before the report.

They also helped us realize a lot of our content on the website needed to be modified to address a non-technical audience.

Then we embarked on a content management exercise with Exegy Consulting. We had a few campaigns going on for some of the new service offerings, and they helped us design landing pages and promos. They also helped us with specific content collateral, like customer success stories, to introduce a new way of articulating client presentations. We participated in a lot of conferences, and we engaged them in a lot of design and content for both the U.S. and India.

Lastly, we had a field sales engine but we didn’t have an inside sales engine in India target some of the local, regional customers. We needed to augment that skillset, and that’s where Exegy Consulting provided us with inside sales services as well. While we didn’t necessarily invest in tools such as drop campaign tools, they guided us through the process.

What is the team composition?

Each engagement had a different number of people. There were 4-7 at different times. Sameer (CEO & Founder) was engaged through all of the engagements. We also had two people from their team working with us to generate leads and run drip campaigns to see the results.

How did you come to work with Exegy Consulting?

I found them through my college alumni network. Someone there referred me to them.

How much have you invested with them?

We spent between $40,000-$50,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working together in October 2017-March 2019.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

While we haven’t implemented each recommendation Exegy Consulting gave us, we’ve seen success in the areas that we did. For instance, we’ve seen about a 50% improvement in the amount of time customers are spending on our pages. Our outreach has also improved from handing out brochures at conferences. We’ve also increased our number of monthly prospects by an amount we’re satisfied with.

How did Exegy Consulting perform from a project management standpoint?

Sameer’s involvement was important because they’re a boutique shop. We didn’t have any delays, but if we felt the schedule was slipping or there was some communication needed, we were able to have direct discussions with them and things got prioritized and done. We didn’t have to constantly worry about getting a hold of them. Things got done.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Exegy Consulting is competent in every digital marketing technology and methodology. They spent time educating us on why a certain technique would bring results. They’re really involved in the explanation and the decision-making process, and they’re even open to having offline conversations to make sure that the client is seeing the value of what’s being done. Plus, the analytics, design application, and content pieces were all well done. 

Are there any areas they could improve?

They could expand their portfolio of clients for different sectors. We took a chance with them and we were happy with it. I’m assuming they’ve come a long way since when we first engaged with them.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

You can’t outsource digital marketing and walk away. You have to get into the details and ask a lot of questions. Constantly ask how it’s going to benefit the business.
