Introduce your business and what you do there.
We’re a consumer goods company that imports and sells spices. I’m the CEO.
What challenge were you trying to address with Evolved Commerce?
We brought them on board to improve our Amazon performance.
What was the scope of their involvement?
They did everything from optimizing our products and listings to managing our ads and sponsored content, as well as a lot of the other programs in place on Amazon for sellers. We provided them with some raw video material and they cut it into content that fits with Amazon’s specifications.
What is the team composition?
We typically work with 2-3 people, and the variation comes from pulling in subject-matter experts.
How did you come to work with Evolved Commerce?
I think they were a referral from another food startup.
How much have you invested with them?
We pay a variable fee, but, out of the gate, we’re spending $2,000 per month. There’s also a kicker in the form of an incentive for them for delivering growth compared to the prior year. I’d guesstimate we’ve spent around $10,000 so far.
What is the status of this engagement?
We’ve been working together since June 2020.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
The most measurable benefit is that they’ve helped us improve our return on ad spend (ROAS). All our ad dollars are going further. Another big thing is that we were competing with some other sellers on our listings and Evolved Commerce has helped us take them back over, meaning we’re getting all the sales for our own items.
How did Evolved Commerce perform from a project management standpoint?
They’re awesome at what they do. They don’t use a project tracker but that hasn’t been an issue. They’re also transitioning to using a new reporting platform that will help. They’re in the in-between stage of building out some tools.
What did you find most impressive about them?
The highlight was their laser-focus on the metrics: sales, ROAS, impressions.
Are there any areas they could improve?
A little bit of improved project tracking would be nice to help manage data would be great.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
Be clear on what your priorities are and what’s going to move your business needle the most. Align on doing those things with them when they put the full force of their knowledge against that. It will make things happen quickly.
