I wanted to reconfigure my website as it wasn’t really popular. I needed a partner to manage the development and integration of features into the platform.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Evince Development rebuilt my e-commerce website. We had the framework of the platform, which was developed using nopCommerce. Advising my vision, they told me when my ideas would be time- or cost-consuming. Their team worked on checkout and catalog pages as well as integrated specific features correlated with my products. They redesigned the front-end of the platform, helping with widgets, pictures, and banners. Now, Evince Development supports the design and automation of email as well as newsletter templates. Whenever a challenge comes up or any changes need to be made, I contact their team immediately.

What is the team composition?

Mainly, I’ve communicated with Rob (Business Manager, Evince Development) who’s amazing. He’s always there to help and his attention to details has a good impact on how the projects are executed. Usually, between 3–4 people with different specialties work on my project. The main web developer who assisted in my recent project is Kinjal (Software Developer, Evince Development), who is professional, punctual and always supportive, and Bhavika (Senior UI/UX Designer, Evince Development) and Abhishek’s (Lead Designer, Evince Development) services are much appreciated as well. Evince Development handles tasks concerned with the configuration of the website.

I did some research and contacted several companies. I met with between 4–5 agencies but none of them felt dedicated to the project. It felt as if they just wanted the job. Evince Development had a good reputation. Their team was not only familiar with nopCommerce but also took the time to sit and explain their ideas with me. They really cared about my project.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Customers have responded positively to the website, saying it provides an easy experience. The platform functions smoothly. Evince Development is always ready to solve challenges, reconfigure, and try to improve the site. Their team worries about results. They aren’t people that just want to get the job done. Evince Development has advised me against decisions that would be time- or money-consuming, which is rare. I feel like I have a team.

How did Evince Development perform from a project management standpoint?

Mostly, we’ve communicated by email and skype. The job was done, which is the best evidence of their efficacy. Whenever I’ve sent an inquiry or have needed help, Evince Development has responded promptly. It doesn’t feel like they’re an off-site partner because their team has followed my schedule. Maulik (CEO, Evince Development) takes the time to get to know each and every customer. He was present at the first one or two meetings to show that he is part of the team. They collaborate and do their best, working six days a week.

What did you find most impressive about them?

The collaboration has been centered around my business needs, which I didn’t feel with other vendors. Evince Development takes a personalized and professional approach toward collaboration. They’ve been committed to my success. Their team knows that I’m a small business owner and have taken the project with my step-by-step, separating them from competitors.

No, they couldn’t improve anything.

Ask for their opinion. As small business owners, we might want something our way but it’s good to hear their opinions. Evince Development has industry expertise and will provide genuine advice.

For what projects/services did your company hire Evince Development?

We have an E-commerce website with multiple integrations with tire suppliers, as well as third party software integrations that allow functionalities to make our online service simple and convenient

What were your goals for this project?

The goal was to completely redesign the front end and back end of the website on a completely new platform, in order to prepare for scaling via automations and better user experience

SOLUTION

How did you select this vendor?

A deep investigation was done to audit out several agency options, both in North America, and overseas. After having a terrible experience with a previous vendor overseas, we decided to be more careful and actually went to the Evince offices in India to further evaluate the team.

After a successful trip over the course of the week, we met with the owner/CEO and the core team while visiting the office, met with the technical leads, and discussed in detail the core requirements and overall goals of the project.

They hit the marks in competence, communication, and trust factor. Plus they are very friendly and even took us site seeing!

Describe the project and the services they provided in detail.

The project is quite large, so it was divided into 4-5 milestones.

We started with basic design layouts/mockups, then testing of core functions with 3rd party API's, and then refining for mobile/desktop responsive compatibility. Along the way we made several changes to the designs and improvements/edits to the functionalities.

The Evince team has been very accommodating to the changes and despite disruptions to the flow, they were willing to ultimately adapt to the new directions and able to progress as we continued to navigate changes.

What was the team composition?

Our project team has about 4 people at its core. We have a project manager, a lead developer, and 2 dedicated technical roles. For our last phase, we may increase the technical roles to accommodate increased workloads.

Can you share any information that demonstrates the impact that this project has had on your business?

We are currently closing in on our launch date. This launch will completely change the way we do business online. It will allow easier tire sales and service scheduling, automated administrative tasks, and even improve accounting. With these systems in place our ability to scale and progress will be increased considerably.

How was project management arranged and how effective was it?

The project was divided into several milestones each with individual goals and written expectations. Most weeks there is an online meeting via Skype with our Technical Lead Developer, as well as a weekly report on progress, next weeks actions, and any pending issues.

Email and Skype calls/chats are the primary mode of communications, as well as WhatsApp. Communications are prompt and despite time differences between North America and overseas, we are able to have quick efficient communication

What did you find most impressive about this company?

The team has strong attention to details and a strong work ethic. Working with 3rd party vendors and API's can be challenging, and they have done a great job on keeping things organized and looking out for quality control along the way.

Are there any areas for improvement?

Overall the team at Evince is great. I wonder if in the future developments we might use a tool like Slack to further streamline communications between our teams and 3rd party vendors to shorten timelines, assuming we can get our 3rd party vendors to agree to using Slack

I'm a co-founder and CEO of Rajdhani Hotels Chain. We operate in various cities all over India.

We hired Evince Development to build a custom ERP system.

What were your goals for this project?

We wanted a system that could facilitate the daily management of hotel tasks. The system would be simplistic and easy for non-technical stakeholders to use. The ideal solution would have a seamless UX with high performance and scalability. The single system would have access to all of the required hotel chain modules.

SOLUTION

How did you select this vendor?

We reviewed data from over 50 top web and custom software development companies on Clutch (e.g. reviews, portfolio, experience, and technological implementation). After narrowing it down to the top 10, we filtered the firms through two more screening rounds. Then, we reviewed the top three companies and decided to choose Evince Development.

Describe the project and the services they provided in detail.

The team began with a complimentary consultation service where they determined which technology stack and architectural flow to use. Using that data, they created a non-functional prototype. After receiving feedback from stakeholders, they moved on to front-and-backend development. Then, they submitted the solution for quality assurance and user acceptance testing. The solution was deployed on the hotel chain production server. Evince is now providing ongoing support and maintenance for the ERP solution. They provide weekly knowledge transfer support and solution training to stakeholders.

The team comprised of one solution architect, one business analyst, one project manager, two ASP.NET developers, one frontend developer, and a UX designer.

Can you share any information that demonstrates the impact that this project has had on your business?

The team’s work has helped digitize our management system, effectively saving time, effort, and money. Now, hotel management is aligned in a seamless operational flow.

How was project management arranged and how effective was it?

Evince’s project management style has been top-notch. They maintain transparent communication, producing proper documentation at each project stage. This has ensured a smooth process with no hassles.

Before starting the project, Evince arranged a kick-off call with our team to introduce their team members. They provided us with a breakdown of the project structure, mentioning each weekly milestone. They manage tasks using Zoho software where we can easily see the project timeline and all the deadlines. For daily communication with the team, we send messages on the Zoho performance management system and connect on Skype groups. 

What did you find most impressive about this company?

Evince is one of the best, most reliable development companies out there. From the start, they showed a keen interest in the project. They are a highly technical team that doesn’t rest until they’re satisfied with the solution. After deploying the solution on our production server, Evince quickly resolved the few bugs that were reported. 

We appreciated how the team provided technical consultation, market research, and valuable insights. In particular, the design team provided very effective, creative suggestions. 

Are there any areas for improvement?

The QA team could spend more effort on evaluating cybersecurity concerns during development. Other than that, the Evince team is fabulous in all aspects.

I’m the co-founder of a diamond merchant group with more than 25 years of diamond trading. We run an online business that allows customers to buy loose diamonds.

We hired Evince Develop to build our diamond trading platform. This involved developing a Magento website and creating an API that would connect it to RapNet, which is a global trading network for diamonds and jewelry. 

What were your goals for this project? 

Our vision was to provide our customers with an easy-to-use platform so that anyone could buy exquisite and unique loose diamonds online.

SOLUTION

How did you select this vendor?

We found Evince Development through Google and gave them a call. They provided a proposal along with detailed documentation for the workflow, so we selected them. 

Describe the project and the services they provided in detail. 

Evince Development worked with our internal team to develop our web-based diamond trading portal. During the first phase, we designed the interface and provided them with all of the content and images. They then refined our UI design to improve the buyer experience before developing the project on Magento and implementing our assets.

In the second phase, they created an API that connected our site to RapNet to extract product information. We could now display all of the diamonds listed on RapNet, and buyers could sort them by cut, color, clarity, and more. 

Finally, they worked with a third-party team to integrate a payment gateway, handling all technical difficulties and providing maintenance and support afterward.

We worked with a project manager, a designer, and a team of Magento developers.

Can you share any information that demonstrates the impact that this project has had on your business?

Our biggest challenge was developing the API on schedule due to our time constraints. Evince Development worked hard to complete this task, and they did a great job. The API runs smoothly and is fast enough to load and sort the diamonds listed on RapNet.

The project management was excellent. Their team arranged direct interaction with our designers to facilitate communication, and they were dedicated to the project. Due to their hard work, we were able to launch our website on time.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

I appreciated that we had direct access to each member of the team. From the designers to the developers, everyone was always willing to help and solved our issues quickly.

No, there’s nothing to bring up. They did a great job and should keep up the work.

I’m the founder of MiDate, an app that matches compatible people together. It’s for both dating and making friends with people near you.

What challenge were you trying to address with Evince Development?

I had the idea but wanted to launch the app on a global scale.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

I had a conference call with Evince Development to tell them my idea and go over how they could bring it to life. They built the app to do all of the work—the matching is based on an algorithm that only puts people together that are highly compatible. We’ve run tests and are currently going through the process to get it in Google Play and the App Store.

At one point, I worked with 13 developers.

My partner found them.

We’ve been working together since January 2018. I plan to work with them again in the future on a different project.

We haven’t launched yet, so we don’t have any data. Evince developed a great app, though.

They’re responsive and work late at night and even on the weekends.

They’re a kind and helpful team. Unlike other software developers I know, they aren’t nearly as spiteful or aggressive.

What was the scope of their involvement?

My former business partner held a conference call with Evince Development to go over my idea. Since my partner better understood their team's accent, he worked with them exclusively. In the end, he had to leave the project because he didn't fully understand my vision.

I then started working with Evince Development myself but ran into several production issues. The team eventually built the app as well as the matching algorithm that pairs individual users before doing performance tests.

How much have you invested with them?

I spent 226,000 Rand ($15,071 USD) between two separate invoices. Right now, the app has everything it needs as per the initial requirements, but I had to pay twice to change course and have them follow my instructions.

What is the status of this engagement?

Evince Development ended the partnership in October 2018.

Describe the impact this engagement has had on your business.

The app appears functional, but I don't know if Google Play and App Store are connected to MiDate App to charge users the lifetime membership fee. I’ve made one sale in total and had to shut down the app in Indian markets because I was being flooded with cancellations and declines. Now, with Google Play’s new requirements, I'll have to spend more money and find another technical partner to get the app upgraded to the 64-bit size.

How was project management handled?

Evince Development was unresponsive to my numerous requests for help since being paid in full. I experienced language and cultural barriers during the development of the app.

Is there anything that the vendor did well or that you would consider a strength?

No, I was unimpressed with their attitude. The team’s helpful performance changed drastically after I paid them in full.

We stopped communication with the client because the exchanges breached our moral code of conduct. The messages were unnecessarily abusive. When we discussed the scalable solution, the partnership appeared to be on good terms; negative reviews weren’t visible on the App Store or Google Play.

Evince Development is a technical solutions company that provides marketing insight, but we do not provide a marketing team. We believe an external marketing plan would have helped the app meet expectations.

Our team provided free support for four months and made complimentary customizations that were out of scope. We were also the third vendor to be hired for this project and delivered a completed solution despite unprofessional behavior from the client.

Evince Development is a global company with a track record of over 740 implementations and positive reviews on Clutch—all except this one. We ask for respect and trust in business relationships. Take care and try to be happy.

As I mentioned, they were able to fix a broken project and make it functional. Furthermore, they went out of their way to familiarize themselves with our technologies, and they proved pivotal resources to supporting our contracted client’s needs.

Even though they were based in India, we knew that we could call them at any time, day or night, and request more resources.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Before Evince Development came on board, we faced so many difficulties on our project’s frontend that we were ready to end our involvement. However, their team was able to help us progress through the work and address our client’s needs.

As far as technical services, they had a wide range of technologies available to help their customers. They were well equipped to handle multidisciplinary language development, including but not limited to ASP.NET, PHP, and JavaScript.

While there’s always room for improvement, I can’t pinpoint anything lacking on their side. They’re good people, and we’ve become friends.

We needed a new team to help with rebranding and redevelopment. We wanted a company that could complete the work assigned and help us lead the initiative.

What was the scope of their involvement?

We had a number of calls in which we set the foundation and outlined what we wanted to achieve. They gave us their thoughts and suggestions on how to accomplish that. We broke the work into different phases. At the beginning of each phase, we outlined the key goals and initiated the work. They updated us every day with their progress and timing to show that everything was on track.

They focused on two different platforms, Joomla! and Magento. They helped a lot with C+ and Ajax coding and integrations.

I worked with Rahul (Sr Dot Net Developer, Evince Development), our lead developer who was dedicated 24/7 to our project. We were also in close touch with Maulik (Founder and CEO, Evince Development) who acted as a project manager lead for us. Whenever we needed, they could add or remove people depending on the project and the skills required to complete it.

We’re still in an early beta mode, but all the feedback from user testing has been positive. The site works really well and mobile optimization is responsive. Those are visible changes.

How did Evince Development perform from a project management standpoint?

They did really well. They helped us stay on top of tasks. We didn’t have a lot of technical knowledge at the time and their perspective was highly valuable. They showed us how to structure and break down the work into two-week sprints.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Their responsiveness is impressive. They’re primarily in India but they always made themselves available when we needed them. They worked on our timing, which we were grateful for. They provided honest feedback and brought their expertise to the project. They made valuable suggestions we might not have thought of.

I’ve used a few development shops, and they’re the best I’ve ever worked with. I liked the fact that we had someone dedicated to our project who really understood what we wanted to achieve.

The loading time on the front page was 6–7 seconds before Evince started working on the website. Now, it’s reduced to 2–3 seconds.

They handled everything well and delivered what they said they would. We mostly communicated through email. They also provided good service post-development and responded to phone calls and emails within 24 hours.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Their technical knowledge is a good thing. Evince proved they could do the work that many developers weren’t able to. They met my expectations.

They charged a lot. However, other developers who gave lower rates had other work issues.
