What was the scope of their involvement?

Ethics Plus does auditing, bookkeeping, and tax planning for us. We do a lot of evaluation stock audits and accounting-related work with them. They’ve provided us with really professional service and customized solutions.

They’re able to provide service by visiting the facility, doing the physical onsite verification of the stock items. They’ve also done a professional comparison with the system records. Ethics plus ha challenged the work we’ve shared with them and added value by telling us how it can be done better.

Additionally, they were able to do the report on site and provide support online during COVID-19. We never felt we were missing out on quality service during that time.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

They’re a good team of experienced people. They’ve made some recommendations to us on how we should use our perpetual inventory accounting and done some tax planning where they provided a report also in the bookkeeping.

Also, they’ve improved our auditing timeline from what used to happen in Q3 to Q2. Ultimately, we brought it to Q1 for those certifications, and they significantly helped us to reduce time in submitting our financial statements to the banks. Everybody is on a much more fast track basis, and the banks are happy with our overall performance. In summary, Ethics Plus has a strong eye for efficiency and productivity.

They’re very proactive, reliable, and spot-on. They follow up, stick to the schedule, and respond very quickly. If there are issues, they always come back to us. Their work depends a lot on how we’re able to provide inputs to them, so we try to make a good arrangement between how they’re able to provide timely services and what they can expect from us.

They’re a reliable partner and a very professional organization. We can always rely on their confidentiality. Moreover, the team delivers the best value for the money, and they offer a variety of products and services.

We are an Indian-based company that was looking to expand to the UAE. When we launched our UAW operation in 2014, we were new to the market there. We needed guidance in terms of the local law of the land and everything related to finance and legal aspects.

It is roughly 10,000 Dirham for each bill (approximately $3,000 USD). They had also helped us with the new taxation that was launched in UAE, and it was between 10,000–15,000 Dirhams (approximately $3,000–$4,000 USD).

Any company is measured by how good the leader and the team are. I believe Ram is a very good leader in terms of leading his team and he has the best team possible. I have been interacting with George since 2015. If I was to rate them out of 10, I would give them a 10.

The best part is that Ethics Plus Public Accountants understands our business pretty well. It can be a little complex in terms of flights and hotels, and there are multiple suppliers as we buy from the Philippines and other various countries. All that has been channeled on one platform and then we service the UAE customer.

If you look at it from an accounting perspective, you have to understand and analyze everything, and it is quite tough. Ethics Plus Public Accountants has been able to understand everything well and they have been able to deliver. They have done a brilliant job.

How did Ethics Plus Public Accountants perform from a project management standpoint?

In terms of performance and delivery, they have been decent, and we have had no issues at all. They are very good at understanding and then catering to their client's needs. Even if we screw up at some point, they make sure that things go smoothly.

We haven’t had any issues with deadlines or performance because we understand how much time we need to give them, and we plan in advance. We don’t push them to do things at the last minute.

Before the pandemic, when there was urgent work to be done, they were working until 1 a.m. or 2 a.m. just finishing our books. I think George was the one that was doing it for us, and I highly appreciate that. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

Give them the job and forget about it because it will be perfectly executed. I don’t have to worry and always received quality work.

No. We aren’t looking at giving them any additional tasks, and we feel they are good at the services they are providing to us.

They’re always available for communication, and some senior teammates are accessible to us when needed. Even when our company was undergoing significant changes that would affect their work, they met our required timeline. 

I appreciated their adherence to deadlines. They keep project managers assigned to the same accounts for the long-term. That ensured documentation was clear, and the main point of contact was kept consistent.

They’re great planners in that way. Their team also held a few introductory workshops that ended up making execution easier. There was tracking in place for all active projects, and that information was always made conveniently available to us.

Our industry changes very quickly. They were great about keeping up with delivery and changing protocols within our industry. I’ve grown very comfortable with their senior team.

I commented that they’re more strict than necessary on the audit. We also realize all the audit companies and governments out there bring in more regulations to streamline things. We accepted that fact because there were certain details that weren’t being asked before. Things are different now but we understand that in order to keep the accounting practices neat and clean and subject to any challenges or questions, Ethics Plus Public Accountants were doing it this way. They’re quite fair and they explain clearly. They do their work well.

They’re very fine people. They understand client relations and are very strict in regards to regulations. They’re a hard-working team. We are friends and sometimes meet socially. They’re very good people that we’re comfortable with and take advice from.

In 2020, they could have sped up certain things. Considering COVID-19, however, they were fairly okay.

The coordination is good. They have a partner, a manager, and the team. There are also assistant managers. If I have any concerns with the team, I can go to any higher up. If there’s an issue, they sort it out.

They work remotely and visit us as well. We have conference meetings as well. They meet most of the deadlines. If we don’t meet them it’s because of obstacles with legality or the government. Even if a mishap occurs, they make it happen and work hard to fix the situation and own the problem 100%. They don’t dodge it and not take ownership.

Ethics Plus Public Accountants is an excellent company. I definitely recommend working with them. They’ll understand the nature. Their team sticks with us for all the fixes and makes sure we become successful. They care about their work and what they do.
