“Simple by OTP Bank” is Hungary’s No.1 mobile payment app for cashless payments with 550,000+ downloads and 1 million+ transactions. However, as a Fintech-focused product design agency, we are particularly proud of the user ratings: 4.8 (App Store) and 4.5 (Google Play). The app also won the Most User-Friendly Finance App award in 2017.


We helped OTP business shorten and design an online account application process geared towards SMEs deploying agile methodology. Using the inputs from weekly user tests and consultations with the business side, we continuously fine-tuned the wireframes, which once finalised, was given a fresh design. We also checked the outcome of the product design process using eye tracking.


We provide full-blown next-generation mobile banking solutions for sales-oriented banks. We have created a seamless banking experience across dashboard overview, cross-sell-focused user-centric interfaces, banking services, and push notification services. This has been adopted by several commercial banks.

Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m a senior IT project manager at a Hungarian commercial bank.


What challenge were you trying to address with ERGOMANIA Product Design Agency?

We hired ERGOMANIA Product Design Agency to create the UX of our online account opening process for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).


What was the scope of their involvement?

Their team delivered a full package of design work, including wireframes, user flows, and UI designs. They also worked with our market research team to gather client feedback.

What is the team composition?

I worked closely with Andras (CEO, ERGOMANIA Product Design Agency) who served as a UX consultant. There was one senior and one junior designer assigned to the project as well.

How did you come to work with ERGOMANIA Product Design Agency?

We released a tender for several UX companies, and two or three were selected to work on different projects. I wasn’t involved with the selection process.

What is the status of this engagement?

We began our partnership in September 2015 and work was completed in June 2016.


What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We conducted eye-tracking research with their initial wireframes and screens, and they performed well. Their team designed an intuitive registration process, and we’re more than satisfied.

How did ERGOMANIA Product Design Agency perform from a project management standpoint?

We handled project management, and their team met every deadline. We never had any issues regarding the delivery of their work.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They were up-to-date on recent UX trends and were proactive in proposing solutions that would benefit our business. I was impressed with their ability to clearly explain their user journeys and defend their design choices for each screen.

They were also flexible and accommodating with payment timelines. They were a great partner, and we enjoyed collaborating with their team.

Are there any areas they could improve?

I don’t think there are any areas where they need to improve. Their team performed well. We had to do some finetuning with their designs after gathering client feedback, but that is typically part of the process.
