Kildonan Place
One of Winnipeg's most popular family shopping centres turns to engageQ to manage their social media channels, engage with guests, and generate increased foot traffic.
We manage their online promotions, design branded content, and deploy Facebook ad campaigns.
“Having engageQ monitor and create content for our social media channels has been a tremendous asset to us. Knowing that our social media is taken care of every day — even if I’m out of the office, on vacation, or even just having a busy day — is a huge load off my mind.
"Plus, engageQ team’s customer service and communication skills are first-rate.
"The content they find and create to engage our online audience is consistently interesting, on-brand, and always relevant to our customers.”
Corey Quintaine
Marketing Director, Kildonan Place

Woodgrove Shopping Centre
We helped Vancouver Island's largest shopping mall with all aspects of their digital marketing — from constant content in social channels, to engaging with fans and influencers, to running ROI-tracked advertising campaigns.
“After just four months of engageQ managing our Facebook presence, the number of Woodgrove Centre fans jumped 70%, we more than doubled our reach, and quadrupled the number of viral shares."
Nola Dunn
Marketing Director, Woodgrove Centre

Grey Cup - Large Sport Event
“Quite simply, engageQ blew us away. From their initial Digital Marketing Audit to their strategic program of content, engagement, and ROI-based campaigns, engageQ delivered measurable results beyond our already-high expectations.”

Full Digital Audit
To begin, we conducted an extensive review of the Grey Cup's existing social channels, determining the strongest types of content, times of day, and frequency.
Sold Tickets
We delivered nearly 5,000 people to the ticket sales site, fully tracked conversions, and reported ROI (which was more than 3x spend).
Engaged With Fans
We engaged directly with fans on the Grey Cup's social media channels, answered their questions, and gave the Grey Cup team space to do their other work. On game-day, our response time was under four minutes.
Built Fan Database
Using a custom-created Facebook Pick Your Team's Cover Image promotion, we built a fan database of more than 750 people (full names, email addresses, and cities), broken down by team loyalty for future targeting.
Live Social Stream
We developed and moderated a live “social wall” stream for the Grey Cup's web sites and monitors around venues, showing live content coming in from social channels.
Increased Fan Base
Using a combination of branded and sponsored content, we doubled the Grey Cup's Facebook fan base and tripled the number of Twitter followers.
Social Advertising
We deployed a series of conversion-tracked social ads, targeting existing fans and people likely to enjoy the Grey Cup. We managed these campaigns, pausing underperforming ads, and rotating creatives to avoid ad fatigue.
Full Contest Support
We managed more than a dozen different contests and giveaways in the social channels, supported by promoted posts, and tracked each winner's information.

U-Bicycle App Downloads
Vancouver Islanders love their bikes, and the people behind the bike share app U-Bicycle entered the market to provide low-cost and easy access to bicycles around the Island and Lower Mainland.
We drove more app downloads and increased revenue through membership.
The Problem
U-Bicycle had just launched when they reached out to us. They needed to increase app downloads and ridership levels, and quickly. As well, with an active member base asking questions on their social channels, they needed a way to answer those questions without bogging their busy staff down.
Our Solution
Within days of starting, we shot on-site videos and launched an ROI-driven social media ad campaign aimed at increasing app downloads. Our engagement team took over the social channels, answering questions from members from early-morning to late-night, with a response time measured in seconds.

Instant Social Presence
This was a brand new development, requiring a comprehensive social media presence. We launched both Facebook and Instagram channels, on-brand, and complete with organic content to help with “social proof.”
Cross-Marketing Analysis
By working with Venue‘s other marketing partners, we were able to uncover critical web traffic data that showed how other campaigns (like banner ads, media mentions, and more) affected web traffic. This helped Venue identify which areas were over-performing and shift budgets to get even stronger results.
Influencer Marketing
We coordinated with three local online influencers to help develop programs that introduced their existing audience to Venue, letting us reach well beyond traditional audiences.
Engaging Past Visitors
By installing special code on Venue‘s web site, we silently captured web visitors into targetable audience “buckets.” Once we'd collected several thousand interested visitors, we deployed an extensive ad program on Facebook and Instagram to reconnect with people who'd visited but not yet registered for a tour.
ROI-Tracked Advertising
We designed and managed five separate social ad campaigns on Instagram and Facebook, targeting people in the local area thinking about apartment living, real estate, and demographically matched interests. And these campaigns were managed daily, rotating creatives to avoid ad fatigue.
Conversion Optimization
We worked closely with Venue‘s web developers and helped identify specific user-interface issues which could be holding back registrations. By tweaking things and adjusting the desired “action flow” on the site, we converted more visitors into buyers.

Vancouver Sun Run
Results talk.
For every $1 the Vancouver Sun Run gave us to spend on social advertising, we returned $27.54 in real revenue.
How do we know? Because we're data nerds. We track everything. We spend our client's money like our own.
PHASE 1: We began with three “early bird” campaigns targeting both past runners and designed to attract people who might be interested in trying the Run out. All visits were logged for future retargeting.
PHASE 2: Mid-campaign, we launched a program specifically to bring more people into the side programs like Corporate and Youth.
PHASE 3: Finally, our “late registration” push targeted people who had been to the Sun Run web site but had not yet registered.
This strategy produced a record-setting performance on ROI.
What We Did
Real-Time Engagement
We engaged directly with fans on the Sun Run's social media channels, answered their questions, and gave the Race team space to do their other work. On race-day, our response time was under three minutes.
Increased Fan Base
Using a combination of branded and sponsored content, we dramatically increased the follower count of the Sun Run's social channels — in the case of Instagram, a 31% jump in the number of fans in the week prior to the Run alone.
Increased Registrations
Using highly targeted ad and organic content campaigns, we delivered thousands of people to the run registration site, fully tracked their purchases, and reported ROI (which was more than 27x spend!).
Full Digital Audit
As with all our clients, we began with an extensive review of the Sun Run's existing state of social channels.

Social Media Marketing for Chiropractic & Wellness Clinic
"Their attention to detail and commitment to my business stand out to me."

the review
A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this client over the phone. Below is an edited transcript.
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I'm the owner of Reed Family Wellness Clinic. I’m a chiropractor and we’re a health and wellness business. We’re an integrated clinic, so we have naturopathetic, massage, acupuncture, traditional Chinese medicine.
What challenge were you trying to address with engageQ digital?
We didn’t have any time to manage our social media and marketing, and I didn’t have the knowledge base to manage it properly. We’d worked with a few smaller, local companies and weren’t getting the response we needed, so we hired engageQ Digital.
What was the scope of their involvement?
They do our social media for us. They do all of the planning and research, and we meet on the phone once a month to review anything that’s changing. He develops the ads according to what we want to focus on for the month. He runs them on mostly Facebook, Twitter, and other platforms. If customers reach out, he handles it occasionally but we also work on that internally.
What is the team composition?
My main point of contact is Tod (President).
How did you come to work with engageQ digital?
I found them through a web search. I interviewed Tod and about 3–4 other companies.
How much have you invested with them?
We spend around $1,500 with them, not including the cost paid to social media platforms.
What is the status of this engagement?
We’ve been working together since June 2018 and our engagement is ongoing.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
We keep stats on everything, which is something I really like about their team because they help us track it all. They’re able to double our return on ad spend up to 10x for very successful campaigns. We’ve seen everything from a 10-fold return and a 2-fold return month over month.
How did engageQ digital perform from a project management standpoint?
On Tod’s end, his communication is fantastic. He sees issues before they arise, so he emails and calls me to let me know if something might happen. We just use email, phone calls, and texts. They also embedded a tool into our website to track where dollars are coming in and seeing if they transition into actual patients, helping us track that information.
What did you find most impressive about them?
Their attention to detail and commitment to my business stand out to me. I know Tod has some large accounts, but it’s amazing that I know he’s always watching my business and is ahead of the game. He treats my business like it’s his own.
Are there any areas they could improve?
No, there’s nothing at all to improve — I love their service.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
Just make sure to call them and get them on your team.

Social Media Management for Shopping Center
"The team at engageQ digital is definitely full of experts in their field."

the review
A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this client over the phone. Below is an edited transcript.
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m a marketing manager for a shopping center.
What challenge were you trying to address with engageQ digital?
We had a fairly large following on Facebook for our marketing, and it was becoming a challenge for me to manage as I’m a one-person marketing department. I wanted someone to take the onus off of me for social media content creation and monitoring.
What was the scope of their involvement?
We started with Facebook and Twitter and then added Instagram. engageQ digital sourced and posted content, engaged with customers, and monitored our profiles. They were also responsible for our social media ad spend; every month, I set the budget, and they always stayed well within it.
What is the team composition?
We worked primarily with Todd (President).
How did you come to work with engageQ digital?
I listened to one of Todd’s keynote speeches a number of years ago. I started following him on social media and noticed he started an agency. He might have even reached out to us, pointing out that he’s worked with other properties in our portfolio and asking to work with us.
How much have you invested with them?
We spent about $50,000 per year
What is the status of this engagement?
We started working together for 7–8 years. The partnership unfortunately wrapped up in April 2020 because our budget doesn’t allow it at this point. We’ll certainly look at re-engaging them in the future if possible.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
We went from fourth to first on Instagram in the market of shopping centers due to engageQ digital’s content, monitoring, and engagement — a crowning achievement for us. According to our reports, we also rank consistently well above average and above our competitors in terms of engagement.
In terms of quality, engageQ digital was really quite good. They were always fast to respond to customers, which is critical, and quick to escalate to us if we need to take care of something urgent. Their content was excellent as well; they were always forthright in asking me to take a look beforehand and making any change that I ask for.
How did engageQ digital perform from a project management standpoint?
They were quite excellent. I never had to worry about deadlines. They always kept us in touch with how we were doing relative to our competitors and ourselves.
What did you find most impressive about them?
It’s the relationship I developed with Todd and his staff members. They made it very easy. Even if we had to have difficult conversations – for example, if something didn’t go right – they were open to feedback. I also felt like I could trust them with confidential information in our industry. Overall, it was just a great business relationship. I miss it now that I don’t have it, but I hope to work with them again for sure.
Are there any areas they could improve?
No, nothing off the top of my head. The team at engageQ digital is definitely full of experts in their field, and I defer to their judgment.
Any advice for potential customers?
Honest, forthright communication is important. I received it from them and gave it to them as well. That helped the relationship grow and built our trust, which I think is important.

Social Media Management for Canadian Road Race
"They’re part of the team and they actually care."

the review
A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this client over the phone. Below is an edited transcript.
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m the operations and marketing manager for a Canadian Road Race. We’re one of the largest Canadian 10k races.
What challenge were you trying to address with engageQ digital?
We used to handle our own social media, but since none of us were truly equipped to do it properly, we hired engageQ Digital to do it for us. We brought them on a contract that goes every year from October to April, when the race concludes.
What was the scope of their involvement?
They handle all of the promotion efforts for our race, including promoting registration, interacting with our participants, gathering interest and answering questions.
They work on our Facebook Ads, Twitter, and Instagram, which they built for us. They manage the accounts daily, reply to users, and work closely with us to promote various categories and deadlines. Their team comes up with ideas for us, like a contest for participants. Once we started exploring promoting sponsors on our channels, they’ve started contributing to ideas and managing those efforts, too.
What is the team composition?
I work with Todd (President). About four people support him, handling each social media account.
How did you come to work with engageQ digital?
Our old marketing manager had heard of them from someone who used them. They had a good reputation, so we approached them and asked if they’d be interested in working for the race because it would be a good fit.
How much have you invested with them?
Our budget varies each year, but we’ve spent between $10,000–$20,000 each year we’ve worked with them.
What is the status of this engagement?
We’ve been working together since 2014 and we work together every year.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
On Instagram, we’ve seen great results year-over-year (YoY). Our growth in followers and interactions has been great. When there are thousands of runners posting and interacting, they are quickly able to handle it.
On race day, we’ve always trended in Canada since working with them, so we’re really happy with them. They’ve done a great job. Our team is able to focus on different things because we know Todd and his team will take care of it.
How did engageQ digital perform from a project management standpoint?
They’re great to work with. Their flexibility is great, as we’re always switching to new categories to fit our race’s needs. Their structure is very well laid-out and planned, so we always feel like we’re at the forefront.
They’ve always got great documentation and putting together a plan to execute. They’re quick on their feet. Whenever we want something, they’re accommodating and help us.
What did you find most impressive about them?
They’re part of the team and they actually care. We can tell they truly want to increase our registrations and want to help us be who we want to be. They’re passionate about what they do for us. They’ve picked up on our language and public persona very quickly,
Are there any areas they could improve?
Honestly, there’s nothing at this point.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
Take the time to sit down and tell them exactly what your goals are. Explain the tone you want your brand to be. Keep the communication constant in the beginning. If something changes, give them a call and they’ll move in the right direction with you.

SMM Strategy and Campaigns for Property Management Firm
“I always know what is happening and how much progress is being made.”
the reviewer
the review
A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this client over the phone. Below is an edited transcript.
Introduce your business and what you do there.
We are a large development company in Canada that develops and manages rental apartment buildings, seniors housing, and commercial and industrial properties.
We are owned by 19 pension funds across Canada and employ about 550 people in the country as well. I am the director of corporate communications, and I am responsible for all internal and external messaging about the company.
What challenge were you trying to address with engageQ digital?
When I started with the company just over a year ago, we didn’t really have any proper measurement tools or strategic tools to measure our engagement and spending on social media. Since I was in a brand-new role going 100 miles an hour, I wanted to establish some key metrics and measurements as part of my communications plan going forward.
What was the scope of their involvement?
engageQ digital helped us to establish and stay on track toward our overall corporate goals, as well as to handle day to day tactics and insights on specific campaigns. They are on a monthly retainer with us, which helps because there is a lot of fluctuation in the specific requirements that we need from them.
We started by initially doing an audit of what we had established because I didn’t even know what channels existed and where. It became clear that everything was a little messy, and there were a bunch of issues we didn’t even know about. From there, they helped us to address the priority items, such as setting up LinkedIn, Facebook, and YouTube accounts.
After that, we worked with them on specific campaigns such as our 30th-anniversary campaign that we launched last year along with a whole bunch of philanthropic and awareness campaigns.
What was the team composition?
Tod (President) is our main point of contact, as he definitely has the widest expertise on the team.
How did you come to work with engageQ digital?
I had worked with Tod before when I was at a manufacturing company and saw that he was really smart and helpful in that role. I don’t know anyone else in Vancouver who’s as knowledgeable as he is, so I reached out to him to help with this project as well, and we were able to keep the relationship going.
What is the status of this engagement?
We started working together in 2016 and have continued the partnership ever since.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
It’s honestly hard to pinpoint anything specific because they have able to touch and improve just about all of our operations on all of our social media accounts. They help us track the metrics that I had developed and pointed to ways that we could improve our tracking methods as well. Don’t have a target metric for him specifically as much as I know he has helped our company succeed and measure that success across the board.
How did engageQ digital perform from a project management standpoint?
Todd has been fantastic about being able to get back to me and making himself available when we need him. He also provides us with updates on what’s happening in the industry, whether the algorithm for LinkedIn is changing, or we realize there’s a better approach to our YouTube schedule or anything along those lines.
He does a great job of letting you know when they’ll be able to help you with something even when they can’t take care of it right away, which really is half the battle. They have a lot of clients, so I don’t expect to be given their full attention, but the responsiveness that they maintain nonetheless is incredibly helpful. I always know what is happening and how much progress is being made.
What did you find most impressive about them?
Their attitude as a company is incredibly positive. It’s hard to pick out just one thing that they do best, but the overall experience is far above and beyond what I’ve experienced at other agencies. They are so knowledgeable and open to sharing that knowledge, which makes it easy to trust and rely on their team for whatever you need.
Are there any areas they could improve?
Right now, I don’t have anything that I think they should be doing differently. We’ve been incredibly satisfied with the level of service that they are providing to us.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
If you have a communication plan but aren’t sure how social media is going to support that plan, that is a good place to start with them. Social media should be strategic, not just tactical, and that’s where you’re going to leverage the most value for your money working with them. Start with your goals, and then let them work backward to the solution from there.

Social Media Management for Full-Service Legal Firm
"It’s so easy to waste tons and tons of money but they get me the most bang for my buck."
the reviewer
the review
A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this client over the phone. Below is an edited transcript.
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m a lawyer at Fulton & Company LLP. We’re a mid-sized, full-service law firm that operates in lots of different legal areas.
What challenge were you trying to address with engageQ digital?
We wanted to establish a social media presence. We didn’t have one; we’d started and let a Twitter account lapse. We kind of had a Facebook page as well but we didn’t know what we were doing. We needed their guidance about how best to run social media accounts for a company like a law firm.
What was the scope of their involvement?
Since we started working with them, we’ve started an Instagram, and LinkedIn account, and we already had Facebook. They’ve also connected us with an online social platform that lets you manage accounts on different platforms at the same time.
Because we’re a law firm, we have to vet our posts very carefully so we don’t rely on them for any content creation. We have someone in-house for that, and we post the content ourselves too. engageQ monitors how our posts are performing and decides when to boost posts and how much money to spend on that. They also monitor our competitors to see how and what they’re doing via super detailed monthly reports that detail our engagement and click-throughs and other metrics.
What is the team composition?
I work directly with Tod (President & Chief Strategist).
How did you come to work with engageQ digital?
I reached out to a friend and she recommended Tod. We had a call, and we could tell right away that he was the guy for us. We didn’t even know what we didn’t know, and Tod came up with a plan right away. He gave us a budget that they haven’t once gone over; we often have money left over at the end of the month.
How much have you invested with them?
We spend between $1,500–$2,000.
What is the status of this engagement?
We’ve been working together since January 2018.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
They’re directly responsible for our law firm completely dominating the market in our area for online engagement including followers and click-throughs. Our competitors aren’t even remotely close to us.
Their knowledge of when to boost posts and what kind of posts to boost — they’re so much value there to be gained. They tell us at certain times to shut down our ads because the spend rates are crazy expensive for whatever reason; if we wait a day or two we’ll spend a fraction of the money to hit the same amount of people or more. They’re just a great addition to our team.
How did engageQ digital perform from a project management standpoint?
Tod is the best to talk to. He responds so quickly. There’s so much value-added stuff when dealing with them. They’ll often peak at our site’s backend to ensure everything’s functioning well and in conjunction with our social media channels. And they don’t’ have to do that. That’s not in their contract; they don’t have to do it and yet they often do.
They give us a super-detailed monthly report and phone call to walk us through the report; it’s been seamless. We did work with another firm that purported to offer similar things to engageQ but it was a complete nightmare. We spent three times as much and they were terrible at responding. We felt like we were setting our money on fire. Connecting with engageQ was a night and day difference.
What did you find most impressive about them?
Their in-depth understanding of social media for business is outstanding. They know how to most effectively spend money advertising and promoting posts. It’s so easy to waste tons and tons of money but they get me the most bang for my buck.
Are there any areas they could improve?
No, we’re super happy.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
I don’t think so. They make it so easy that there’s very little to do on our end. Just give them a try.
The diligent, detail-oriented approach from the engageQ digital team is impressive, helping the client see a tremendous return on ad spend. Their comprehensive tracking helps them better understand their sales and the efforts are run smoothly and timely.
