We contracted with Emorphis to work with our team to deploy a minimally viable Salesforce CRM instance for a commercial sales organization in the medical diagnostics industry. We contracted Emorphis to perform the development aspects of the build while we managed the requirements gathering and UAT aspects.

We searched online for vendors and scheduled meetings and interviews with a few to find a partner that was best suited for the project and work along side our team.

We had kickoff meetings to determine project scope and plan. Then we began intaking project requirements from the business unit and communicated these with the development team to determine the build schedule. From there, together we designed, built, tested, and implemented the solution for the client.

We worked alongside one architect and one developer throughout the process.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

Through collaborating we were able to deploy the solution within the timeframe and budget that was originally scoped. The client is very happy with the solution and has successfully rolled it out to the business units.

We had daily standup with the project team to review project status as well as solve questions. We also communicated through email and utilized Trello for managing requirements.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

They were always quick to respond to questions and adaptive to changing requirements by the client. They were able to help us deliver a solution within a short time frame that exceeded the original scope to provide maximum value for the client.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

None.

They were quick to adapt and respond to our changing requirements as is normally the case when we are implementing Salesforce NPSP for scale for the first time.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

The team drew from their past experience to share with us various possible options. What success looks like for the customer - I have observed that for Emorphis this is very important and I think this is the key differentiator. They went to extra lengths to ensure our satisfaction.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

There were some delays that happened because of changing requirements and such but I think that is acceptable when we are in the agile mode.

We needed help developing custom code to scale our customer operations.

What was the scope of their involvement?

We started working with them on some specific Salesforce project work for a couple of months.

The team works on custom code and integrations. For example, they set up an integration with our university partner that shares data between our Salesforce orgs to process student applications.

In terms of the code, we had a lot of other Salesforce automations that needed to be optimized. Others needed to bulkified. They’ve also done some data cleanup work.

We work with two Salesforce developers and one other person.

We get solicitors for offshore development all the time. I chose them because the projects they’ve worked on before looked like ours. Their cost was also a factor.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working together in October 2020. We shifted to a monthly retainer in December 2020, and our work is ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

The work they’ve done with integrations has been successful. With the university integration, we were able to handle over 600,000 integration transactions.

How did Emorphis Technologies perform from a project management standpoint?

I really appreciate working with Emorphis Technologies. They always pitch in where needed, and they deliver quite quickly. The team is flexible and easy to work with. I meet with them daily. We use Zoom and Slack for communication. We use Asana for project management.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Whenever they don’t know something, they own it. The team always figures out how to solve a problem when all is said and done.

Are there any areas they could improve?

Documentation is not their strongest suit.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

My advice is to set the expectation for documentation upfront and manage it from there.

Before the Salesforce solution that Emorphis implemented for us, we were managing everything on excel sheets and a lot of things were managed through phone calls and emails only. With a growing number of suppliers and channel sales partners, it was becoming very difficult to manage things. Thus we decided to look for a solution and Emorphis helped us with Salesforce implementation.

We wanted to reduce operation yield time and operation cost, we also wanted to streamline & automate our sales process and sales channels.

How did you select Emorphis Technologies?

We read about them on the internet and then we have multiple rounds of discussion with them. Emorphis helped us understand how our goals can be achieved. Once we were convinced with what Emorphis proposed, we decided to move ahead with them.

We receive sales orders from our various channel sales partners according to the geography of the channel sales partner and as per material & quality asked in the order; we need to assign that batch of orders to a particular type of manufacturer, we also need to assign a supplier to each set of orders.

During this whole process, the sales partner, manufacturer, supplier, and our company need to collaborate on many things and exchange information on a regular basis. With Salesforce it is now very easy to optimize the above-mentioned process with easy-to-use salesforce workflows. We are also managing our complete sales cycle, from lead generation to deal closing on salesforce now.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

We have reduced the operation yielding cycle (for a new order) time by around 30% we are closing more deals/month now.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

I am absolutely delighted the way Emorphis handled the communication. We did not know anything about Salesforce and needed a guide more than a service provider and Emorphis did exactly what we wanted.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

Emorphis was very detail-oriented in their approach, they knew how to ask the right question from me and my team. They understood every aspect of our business before implementing the Salesforce solution for us.

Are there any areas for improvement?

Though they delivered the project as promised but I believe delivery should have taken lesser time. But overall I am very happy with the end result.

I’m the director of program management and engineering for a recreational auto company. In my role, I’m specifically over application activities where we take technologies and develop them with customer-specific requirements in mind.

Our company designs and develops smart pneumatic control systems for a number of different industries including recreational and commercial vehicles. Those systems are used across those industries as suspension controls. We develop controllers and technology that incorporate pneumatic systems, valves, and other solutions to support our customers’ needs.

We brought them on to develop and deploy mobile applications that could run on both iOS and Android. These apps would allow third-party control of the system we developed.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Our customers range from the general public to a fleet manager. Because of that, our key deliverable is an interface that allows customers to take information and adjust settings within our controller. Emorphis Technologies was tasked to understand our technologies and develop a mobile app skin. By skin, we mean what the customer sees when they open the app. Beyond that, we worked with Emorphis Technologies on how the controls and functions work.

What is the team composition?

We interface with about four individuals. There are also individuals working behind the scenes.

How did you come to work with Emorphis Technologies?

They were a referral or stemmed from a relationship that’s been developed by key individuals within our company. We evaluated Emorphis Technologies based on third-party feedback and an assessment of the stability of their organization. It’s important to us that our partners deliver on time and within budget.

What is the status of this engagement?

Our ongoing engagement started in December 2017. The length of any given project ranges from 3–4 months.

What challenge were you trying to address with Emorphis Technologies?

They did a system upgrade on our Salesforce and moved us to the new version.

What was the scope of their involvement?

They upgraded packages in the backend of our CMS, making sure that doing so wouldn’t break anything and that data integrity was maintained. Bringing existing records into the new system needed to happen without any data loss.

There were certain parts within the system that needed to be automated, and that was also handled by Emorphis.

The initial stage was handled by their technical advisor, and they had a couple of developers working behind the scenes.

How did you come to work with Emorphis Technologies?

Their owner was a high school friend of our finance director, and he reached out to us offering their Salesforce skills. Given the work that we do, Emorphis provided us a really good price.

We’ve spent less than $10,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

The first phase ran from August–October 2020. It took about three months, including contract negotiations, drafting the scope, and the work itself. The overall collaboration with Emorphis is ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Emorphis wanted to help our cause as much as they could, and they even went beyond the scope with some items.

I’m really happy with Emorphis’ work. They performed to the level I expected them to. I have no complaints about them.

How did Emorphis Technologies perform from a project management standpoint?

Technical advisors don’t usually get involved in the actual development, but theirs was very hands-on. I think that that’s how a tech advisor should be.

The communication was really good. We had to work on it, but that’s not unusual.

They met all their deadlines, even though there were some cases when we were holding them back.

What did you find most impressive about them?

I’m pretty knowledgeable when it comes to Salesforce, and I think that they know what they’re doing. The key criterion was Emorphis’ ability to understand what the problem was and solve it, and that’s the number one reason why we gave them the contract.

Are there any areas they could improve?

Gathering requirements in advance is something they should improve on. They work based on their knowledge basis, but the client may have different expectations about how the system should work. Salesforce limits them in terms of what they can do, but they still need to have that conversation.

Do you have any advice for potential customers? 

The key is to have a conversation around your business needs. If this is done, Emorphis will deliver the job.

CanGo is a on demand super app focusing on motorcycle taxis and supermarket deliveries in the Democratic Republic of the Congo and Rwanda.

We worked with Emorphis to flexibly expand our teams capabilities on mobile, backend and frontend software development work.

What were your goals for this project?

The goals would evolve. We have been in a challenging to hire environment being in Central Africa and while we worked to build out our own team, we used Emorphis to fill HR gaps or to work on discrete projects that it didn't make sense to hire an employee for.

We have worked with a variety of firms over the years. We originally found Emorphis on a recommendation but just were using there for a small project.

The project with Emorphis that I was most involved with was rewriting our app to take advantage of a different library, and getting our iOS app written in native and deployed.

What was the team composition?

While it would vary, our most typical composition was one mobile developer, one backend developer and one front end developer.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

Emorphis because a permanent part of our development cycle. Our iOS app, Android app, backend and business management tools had Emorphis's DNA all over.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

It was honestly great. I've worked with remote teams before and had made the resolution to only outsource as a last resort or in an extremely narrow way, but Emorphis reset my expectations on what remote teams can provide.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

Their exceptional customer care (thank you Abhinav) was able to make us translate our specifications into requirements that were clear for both sides. Emorphis clearly understands startup realities and it seemed like they were always a step ahead of us with a realistic solution at the same time we were realizing we were having a problem.

Are there any areas for improvement?

I would have liked to have found better ways to make the devs we were working with over long stretches of time feel more a part of my company's community and culture, but maybe that was more on my side.

How did you select this vendor?

The fact that Emorphis was already assisting us on other technologies made things easier for us. However we still had multiple rounds of discussions with Emorphis’ Salesforce team and Emorphis did a small PoC on Salesforce. And once we were fully convinced of Emorphis’ Salesforce capabilities, we decided to move ahead with them.

Describe the project in detail.

The project was for a Housing consultancy firm, they needed a centralized system that they can rely on for sales, marketing and customer service. Before Emorphis implemented this Salesforce solution the consultancy had to maintain a large amount of data on excel sheets which was quite error prone, also in absence of a centralized system the consultancy was not able to measure the results of marketing campaigns and missing leads were also a problem.

What was the team composition?

One full time Salesforce Architect, one half time Salesforce Administrator, three full time Salesforce Developers and one QA.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

The Salesforce solution that they have implemented has already started benefiting the business, the solution has enabled a 360-degree customer overview with significant reduction in customer inquiry solving timeline. The Salesforce solution is also helping in increasing the sales pipeline and enhanced customer loyalty as the Salesforce community cloud implemented by them is helping customers in getting better services in a timely manner.

The system automatically assigns leads to the respective sales person (depending on the location of lead) and also send automatic alerts if the sales person has not done the required task within the time limit and this has resulted in quicker & higher sales closures.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

Their point of contact communicates effectively all details about what we are going to get in next delivery, known issues if any. Their team anticipate hurdles in advance so we could plan accordingly with our customers. Mostly we communicate weekly basis to discuss over the ongoing and upcoming Sprints and never felt unaware of the progress or project insights.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

Emorphis always comes back to us with a better approach to achieve a particular objective. So they are more of a solution provider for us. Emorphis helped in choosing the right Salesforce subscription. Currently Emorphis is also managing the Salesforce platform.

Are there any areas for improvement?

We are mostly happy with their services and planning more projects to do with them. However it will be great if they can provide more intermediate deliveries with smaller size milestones.

We were having issues with capacity so we had to augment our current staff to get more done.

What was the scope of their involvement?

It was all development, strictly programming. It was mostly in PHP, but they also used JavaScript and AJAX components. They did a few specific projects for our largest client as well. They worked on their sales rep portal, and most of the projects were enhancing that portal and adding new features.

What is the team composition?

We had a project manager, a lead developer, and several other developers. We worked with two main people on a daily basis, but they would scale up when needed.

How did you come to work with Emorphis Technologies?

We tried to work with another offshore team, but it wasn’t a good experience. So, we took the opportunity to find a total of eight different offshore companies and did a project with each of them. I knew from speaking with Emorphis; Technologies’ CEO, that we would have a good relationship. Of those eight companies, Emorphis Technologies rose to the top. They were head and shoulder above the rest of them.

How much have you invested with them?

We spent between $30,000–$40,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started in June 2019 and ended in January 2020.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

They were able to help us meet our goals, even when we had some very aggressive timelines. From the projects we worked on, weren’t necessarily adopted by users, but others were. Although some projects aren’t used, I don’t think that’s Emorphis Technologies’ fault, but rather those who determine the flow.

Out of all the companies we worked with, Emorphis Technologies was by far the best experience we had. The people we worked with on a daily basis were knowledgeable and extremely helpful. They delivered good code, even under less-than-ideal circumstances. They really helped us deliver a successful project.

How did Emorphis Technologies perform from a project management standpoint?

They were very good. They helped us meet our goals in a sound way. No relationship is perfect, and we certainly hit some bumps, but overall, they had the most talent of all the offshore teams we considered,

What did you find most impressive about them?

They understood our applications and how our framework worked. The other thing was project management. Unlike other offshore teams, they weren’t afraid to push back when they thought we could do something in a better way. That led to discussions and improvements for our overall processes. They made us more efficient.  

Are there any areas they could improve?

The project manager we had was very pragmatic. We had discussions about how to improve, but when we made a decision and needed to move forward, he sometimes wanted to continue the discussion. It’s not necessarily a negative, we want people like that, but sometimes we need to move on and execute.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Go ahead and nail down your entire process from start to finish. Determine how everything is going to work, who is responsible for making decisions, and how those decisions will be made.

The other thing is general for offshore teams—make sure that the requirements are as verbose and clear as possible. Any ambiguity leads to mistakes and delays.
