Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m a design manager for a marketing design business that works predominately with science-based and technology companies.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

What challenge were you trying to address with Email Uplers?

We relied on Email Uplers to create HubSpot newsletter templates for one of our clients. 

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement? 

Email Uplers developed HubSpot newsletter templates using the Sketch files that we’d provided. They’d then deliver the code to us for review. Recently, they helped create an extensive HubSpot landing page for another client.

What is the team composition? 

Saumya (Project Manager) was our main point of contact for the newsletter work and would take our edit requests to the technical team. On that side, there were about 5–6 people 

How did you come to work with Email Uplers?

One of my former colleagues brought them on about two years ago for a template project. They did a good job then, so I decided to re-engage them.

How much have you invested with them?

We spent $5,000–$6,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

Our most recent string of projects lasted from February–August 2020.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

One of the biggest factors was their ability to deliver on short timelines for our clients. Obviously, we work with a number of clients, so it was important that we had to option to expedite work.

The other success indicator we looked at was making sure the templates were set up easily so that our client could use them straight away. If they had any questions for us, we would go back to Email Uplers to answer those inquiries.

How did Email Uplers perform from a project management standpoint?

Saumya was particularly fabulous. She was responsive, communicated clearly, and was a joy to work with. In terms of collaboration tools, we used BugHerd, which was helpful for keeping track of feedback. It allowed us to leave comments directly on the design rather than getting bogged down by email chains.

What did you find most impressive about them?

I was impressed by their team’s positivity and openness to taking on any project.

Are there any areas they could improve?

Some of the things that were initially frustrating were resolved once we started working with Saumya. Before, we would have to go back and forth through email, which made it easy for things to get lost. Saumya’s push for BugHerd fixed that.

Another minor issue was that they would deliver new code each time we wanted to make a tweak rather than implementing the edits directly into the template we were working on.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Get a great project manager.
