I’m the membership and communications director at a private country club.

What challenge were you trying to address with EGO?

They built an entirely new website for us because we had a pretty old existing site.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Their team worked with our committee members to build a new WordPress site from the ground up. They created everything based on specifications from our membership base. 

Now, the website is up and running. We’re in a maintenance phase with them. If anything on the site needs to be updated, they’ll take care of it for us. They also handle all of our IT as it relates to emails communications with our membership.  

What is the team composition?

I have one main point of contact, who is a developer. We work directly with him, although there is definitely a team behind him as well. 

How did you come to work with EGO?

We found them through a word-of-mouth membership referral. After meeting with them, their product seemed like exactly what we were working for. They also appeared easy to work with, which was important for us. The customer service and product seemed like a good match for us. 

How much have you invested with them?

This year alone, we’ve spent about $100,000 on the project. That’s more than the cost of our average annual spend with them because they had to build scheduling tools into the site to accommodate pandemic restrictions. 

What is the status of this engagement?

We’ve been working with them since around November 2016.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Whenever I’m onboarding new members of the club, I’m told that the site is super intuitive. Members don’t necessarily need tutorials on the site because it just makes sense to them. The end website is great, easy to follow, and in-line with what other clubs have. 

How did EGO perform from a project management standpoint?

When I call, they always answer the phone no matter what. They sometimes respond to emails within minutes. The customer service is great. They’re a smaller company, so they’re very transparent about timelines at every step of the project. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

The level of service they provide is far above what I’d expect from a partner company. When we need them, they answer immediately. That’s pretty important to us, especially if we’re experiencing a website issue or crash. They’re very responsive. 

Are there any areas they could improve?

We haven’t run into any issues. 

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Be open about your needs and target audience. It may be helpful to get some of your clients in the room with their team so they can communicate their expectations. Their team will be willing to do whatever you need from them.
