What was the scope of their involvement?
Effective Spend provides PPC services through Google AdWords for us. They do all of the legwork for us, measuring keyword density and frequency. Their team determines which keyword phrases we should be emphasizing and how as well as what we should be spending per buy. Effective Spend also leverages technology, such as automatic bidding tools, for us.
What is the team composition?
We work with 2–3 members of the Effective Spend team. We have an account manager who is our primary but we also work with Maya (Senior Digital Media Manager, Effective Spend) who is responsible for oversight. The third person we work with is Paula (Digital Media Director, Effective Spend) who oversees that team entirely.
How did you come to work with Effective Spend?
I was referred to them by another company. They worked in a completely different market but I asked if they knew anyone who offers a similar scope of work and leverages similar technology. Their company recommended Effective Spend.
How much have you invested with them?
We pay Effective Spend a monthly retainer of $1,400 but they receive additional compensation based on conversions. During the off-season, we mostly pay them just the flat monthly fee, but once we get into the season it ranges from $3,000–$5,000.
What is the status of this engagement?
Our ongoing engagement with Effective Spend began in 2017. We use our season, which runs from May 1st through Labor Day, as a marker. A lot of planning and organization goes into making the season successful so we work with Effective Spend year-round with hyper-focus in a short buying period. We’ve worked with them for two seasons so far.
