BACKGROUND

Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m the general manager (GM) at P. Raj & Company, a manufacturer of carbide cutting tools in India. 

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

What challenge were you trying to address with eeternal DESIGNS?

My biggest problem was the inaccessible venues in India. For context, we did shows across the country and abroad, such as in Germany and the US. The problem was that the vendors we found were constrained to a particular region, city, or venue. 

Moreover, certain parts of India weren't accessible. For instance, Jamshedpur is an industrialized and heavily developed city in India, so the shows that we've done there have been challenging. eeternal DESIGNS helps us run our show in those kinds of cities. 

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

eeternal DESIGNS works on our booths’ designs and fine-tuning for exhibition. Then, they provide additional services such as offering their coffee machines, television, or anything we require. We’ve done about six projects with them, and the largest one was in 2018, where they designed and fabricated a 40-sqm booth. They painted and put up posters for it. 

We’ve also done small shows in 2016, 2017, and 2019. We were supposed to run another show in April 2020, but it was postponed. 

What is the team composition?

We’ve worked with around 18 people. 

How did you come to work with eeternal DESIGNS?

When we were looking for vendors, eeternal DESIGNS was the first company that stood up and said they’d do whatever we wanted them to do. As long as we used them over and over again, they’d give us a great price. On top of that, it didn’t matter to them where the venue was, so we hired them.

How much have you invested with them?

We’ve invested around ₹350,000 INR (approximately $5,000 USD).

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working with them in January 2015, and it’s ongoing. 

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

In terms of success, their designs are fairly accurate, and there’s been very little work left in fine-tuning the projects. Moreover, other vendors take about 15–20 days to come up with a finalized design, and we then work on repeated fine-tuning. By contrast, eeternal Designs does that within a week and a half — they’re very fast, and it’s one of their differentiators. 

They also have equitable design and booth fabrication, while their competitors charge twice what they charge. For example, in our 2018 project, the quotation I received from their competitor was ₹462,000 INR (approximately $6,000 USD). However, eeternal DESIGNS did the project for around ₹265,000 INR (approximately $3,000 USD). 

Apart from that, the quality of their work is top-notch. We’ve had no complaints about their services, and they even go a step further. During one of our projects, when we asked them for a coffee machine at the last minute, they provided it to us. Another example was when they found the right people to work with us in Jamshedpur. Their owner even went to the location to figure out how they could serve us in that city. To sum up, they get things done, and they don’t charge too much for it.

How did eeternal DESIGNS perform from a project management standpoint?

We mainly communicate with them via WhatsApp and email. We do minimal phone calls. From a management standpoint, they’re really put together and consolidated. They know exactly what they want out of us, and once we give them information, they know what they have to give us. Overall, both their communication and project management are very clear, concise, and quick. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

They ask the right questions, such as what lines, shapes, or colors we want. They throw questions one after the other, and we usually spend an hour and a half answering those questions. In fact, in our first conference call, I answered 60–90 questions. Once I saw the results, we knew the time we spent on that call was worth it. 

In other words, they take time to understand what we want, asking relevant and specific questions until they extract information out of us even if we don’t know what we need to do. 

Are there any areas they could improve?

No, there aren’t any. I’d be hard-pressed to point out something they could improve. No one can come up against their services. 

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Listen to them, and give them whatever they want from you. You also have to be patient because they’ll ask you a lot of questions early in the engagement.
