Custom software project for Jamadvice Travel

The task was to reduce the manual work and implement software automation for Jamadvice Travel - official representative of BCD Travel of Bulgaria.

We created the necessary architecture and built a multilayered software that takes care of the complete automation of the processes. When making reservations from the two major systems (Amadeus and Galileo GDS), we automatically capture the information, then parse it and pour

it in a structured way into the system database. From this data, employees can issue invoices, run sales reports, segment data exports, and other features.

Key features of the product:

o Automatic processing and filling in the data from created reservations (from Galileo GDS, Amadeus)

o Automated export for BCD Group audit report with multiple data interdependencies. Built and implemented custom file based on a report requirements template.

o Facilitated billing and document issuing process

o Built-in export to accounting software, sorting documents by sort and type, allowing automatic entry of documents by type in the accounting software.

o Developed multiple activity reports

o Automatic submission of files and reports to external / affiliate systems

For the kernel of the system we used Laravel PHP Framework together with MySQL database. For front end we used html5 / javascript. To read reservations automatically, we used a PowerShell script that is set up to read newly created files from the reservation system, process the information, and send it to a dedicated Endpoint API that takes care of the database import.

URBO Parking is an innovative platform for the use of smart parking systems in an urban environment. The system is integrated with multiple municipal and private parking sysem, unifying the interface and facilitating the use of multiple parking services by end users. The users also have the ability to use bank cards, prepaid vouchers and e-tickets.

 

 

We have chosen modern and secure technologies to satisfy consumers expectations. Initially we to use the phone's location to accurately show the user in which area he is and how much would be the parking cost. We are showing the opening hours, the cost of parking and what would be the maximum stay that can be used. Another feature that we introduced to the customer was sending push notifications on expired paid time, repatriation of a car or a mounting bracket. We  integrated multiple municipal and private parking systems in one unified interface, accessible from a single user profile and banking environment.

The project was to create a custom part add-on in an existing ERP software which will simplify the visualization of the technicians’ schedule and make the administration staff’s life easier. First through google maps we created a split into different area zones of the city. In each zone the settings would give the options to put the installer technicians responsible for this area with their schedule

and all the information like customer, address, type of product, contract etc. The schedule had additional features like transport costs, staff information, log information etc. Key features of the product:

·        Real-time information about the status of the order.

·        Automated location capture to properly select the zone of the technicians.

·        Notifications if the status of the order has changed.

BACKGROUND

Please describe your company and your position there.

Jamadvice Travel are the local partner in Bulgaria for the global travel management company, BCD. As Project Manager, I am responsible for implementation of new solutions to improve the processes and performance of the business.

What were your goals for this project?

The solution we required at Jamadvice Travel was rather complex and of course, urgent! Due to unexpected changes in the business we needed to quickly change our processes to save time and human error. Our main concern was finding a partner who could not only guide us through the process but also understand the unique needs of the business. There were many layers to the project. The scope included automation of invoicing and extensive reports as well as meeting local government requirements for accounting purposes.

SOLUTION

How did you select this vendor?

I have worked with some members of their team in the past in a previous company and knew that they had the experience and knowledge to take on this project.

Describe the project and the services they provided in detail.

They designed and developed a fully automated process for invoicing and complex reporting. Data exports from our GDS systems allow us to fully automate the invoicing process and use an automated export for our BCD Group audit report with multiple data interdependencies. Internally we had very little knowledge of how such software could work for us, so the project began with the team meeting us to understand our business and what we were trying to acheive with this solution. From there we developed a project scope and began with the first steps of the project. We had regular meetings along the way to ensure that we were fully covering all aspects of our requirements. As we reached the end of the project, the team also provided in house staff training during the testing phase.

What was the team composition?

The team consisted of 4 people. However we had 2 of the team spend a lot of time with us in the office to determine our needs and then again later for staff training. We also had a dedicated project manager who kept us informed at all times of the progress of the project.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

Can you share any information that demonstrates the impact that this project has had on your business?

As the project developed, more ‘problems’ and solutions were identified on our side which helped us to streamline the processes and improve our overall performance as a business. Not only have we successfully acheived our original goal of saving a huge amount of time and reducing the risk of human error, we also indentified other aspects of the business that required improvement and have continued to make more positive changes.

How was project management arranged and how effective was it?

The great communication from the team was key to the success of this project as we were informed and updated every step of the way. As a business we do not have any in house ‘experts’ in this area so we really appreciated the patience and guidance we were given.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

Again, communication and clear guidance was the most crucial thing for us. We were not experts and needed to understand each step of the process. The team very clearly explained things in a simple way and worked very closely with our staff to ensure everything was exactly as they wanted it to be to make their day to day life easier!

Are there any areas for improvement?

I was very happy with the overall project management and final solution and we worked very well together.
