What was the scope of their involvement?
EctoStar developed a Drupal site from scratch, helping us identify the requirements and choosing the appropriate platform. After structuring how the content would flow on the backend, the team designed the pages, implemented our tweaks, and hosted the domain on their server. They also linked our site to third-party services such as GoDaddy.com and Google analytics to enhance our functionality.
What is the team composition?
They assigned a lead developer as our main point of contact. As the project progressed, he would connect us to other team members when necessary such as the designer and technical support. Because we mostly interacted through email, I’m not sure if there were other resources working behind the scenes.
How did you come to work with EctoStar?
We initially considered using our own IT department, but the pricing rate would’ve been too high, and we needed more advanced development skills. A colleague then suggested EctoStar because they were already supporting different departments within our organization. After a background check and a few conversations, we decided to move forward with them.
How much have you invested with them?
We’ve spent about $50,000 so far.
What is the status of this engagement?
Their work started in March 2015 and is ongoing. Once we launched the site, they continued to stay onboard in a support role, but we’re now working with them on a new project to overhaul the design and functionalities.
