Flexifabrics, LLC sells marine supplies for recreational boaters in America and Europe. We sell boat fenders, fender covers, lines, hangers, gear protection, apparel and accessories. Our flagship product falls under the name Fendersox™ - boat fender covers in 100 designs and counting + custom options available. I am the founder and CEO of the company.
For what projects/services did your company hire Ecom Growers?
We initially hired e-com growers to increase website traffic. Before consulting Sully, I had traffic pinned down to SEO, some basic social media marketing and direct sales. Ecom growers provided so much valuable insight on other inexpensive ways to grow brand recognition such as email marketing, influencer testimonials, app integration on Shopify and paid ads to name a few. I was aware of these concepts before consulting Ecom growers, but i didn't know how to execute them.
What were your goals for this project?
We had one goal - increase website traffic and online revenue. As the founder of the company, it was my plan initially to sell our products on Amazon. Ecom growers advised me that this was a bad idea and i haven't stopped thanking them since.
After delving deeper into the topic, you will find that the best brands in the world, ones like Yeti or GoPro (which are more applicable to my audience), do NOT sell on Amazon for a variety of reasons, one being lack of control over your own brand. Your brand may be suited for Amazon, but i personally would ask for Sully's help before making that leap.
How did you select this vendor?
I received a recommendation from a close friend who knew the owner, Sully. Sully grew up in the same town as me, so it made for an easy intro.
Describe the project and the services they provided in detail.
They designed, developed and implemented a campaign that tremendously increased website traffic and on site conversions within 3 months. They analyzed our brand, came up with a detailed outline & plan, and executed via Shopify app integration, email marketing, SEO, social media promotions, influencer engagement and more.
What was the team composition?
The team consists of about a dozen people from what I can tell - everyone has a specialty. This is not a one man shop and Sully makes a point of finding talented individuals who have ONE specialty. I spoke to about 9 people throughout the process and everyone seemed incredibly knowledgeable about the topics they were presenting/implementing.
Can you share any information that demonstrates the impact that this project has had on your business?
Absolutely. Our website traffic increased by 60% within 3 months and on site conversions doubled. Enough said.
How was project management arranged and how effective was it?
The team never missed a deadline and their communication, whether it be via email, phone or Google Hangouts, was clear, concise, confident and easy to understand.
One of the things I liked best about Ecom grower was their willingness to show me how to perform various tasks, rather than implementing it themselves and charging an extra fee. A perfect example of this was shopify app integration - various apps were recommended by Ecom growers such as Privy and Klaviyo. I installed these myself, saw tremendous results and never saw it on the final bill. Ecom growers genuinely wants to see your business perform.
What did you find most impressive about this company?
I was most impressed by the level of expertise that each consultant had to offer. Many other firms that we have approached are run by 1-2 people who think they know everything. Sully did a great job at putting together a talented team of individuals. They don't pull any punches, so be prepared for honest, sometimes blunt, but VERY valuable feedback. I wouldn't recommend anyone else.
Are there any areas for improvement?
To be honest, I see very little room for improvement. I just wish I didn't pay other consulting firms before finding Ecom growers. Be prepared for constructive criticism and trust the process. Some changes they recommend may be drastic. I was initially appalled when they advised me not to launch on Amazon. Now i'm thanking them.

Chris and his team manage our entire email marketing strategy. From planning content to writing, tweaking, testing emails, etc. He also does our SMS marketing as well.
What was the team composition?
Have worked closely with Chris, the owner, and Diana mainly through slack and Basecamp

Our email revenue percentage has increased to around 40-50% depending on the month. In addition our repeat customer rate is about 50% which is a very high number. We have also kept our open/click rates solid.
