I’m the founder of an online farmer’s market that is based in Pennsylvania. We have offerings from local food producers and set up a curbside pickup for our member base once a week.

What challenge were you trying to address with Shopify Pro?
We were deciding whether to use Shopify but found that it didn’t have everything we needed to do our business. There were limitations to the platform, especially for the unique service we offer, which is a farmer’s market concept but with a curbside pickup component. We asked Shopify Pro to help us make modifications to the platform to better fit our business needs.
SOLUTION
What was the scope of their involvement?
Being a startup during the COVID-19 pandemic, we were only in our infant months of creation, so we had to focus on the website itself. We were able to do most of the work on the frontend since Shopify is so easy to use, but Shopify Pro helped us with backend development, coding and making custom modifications to its functionalities.
Their team made it possible for users to schedule a pickup time. They also brought on certain apps to allow us to conduct our business. We test the product several times to make sure it works the way we want it to, and they make changes to it if necessary.
What is the team composition?
We had a main contact from the very beginning. Other team members are also involved and offer their different expertise on the different aspects of the website. At most, we are in touch with three people.
They offered other departments to work with us and offer frontend and advertising advice, but at this phase in the business, we’re just sticking with the backend team.
How did you come to work with Shopify Pro?
We posted a job to find the right company to work with. I spoke to at least 10 different service providers, but we decided to work with Shopify Pro since they did a great job of explaining how they could help us. Their price point, level of expertise, and professionalism were the right fit for us.
They made communication easy through a chat platform, where we told them what we were looking to do and what we needed to be modified and recoded.
How much have you invested with them?
We’ve invested probably a few thousand dollars.
What is the status of this engagement?
We began around March 2020 and we have an ongoing relationship. As our business grows and as issues come up during website maintenance, we simply jump right back on their chat system and they respond right away.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
We tell people that we’ve taken to a Shopify platform with a little help from an outside company and we’ve gotten compliments on the website’s functionality and user-friendliness.
How did Shopify Pro perform from a project management standpoint?
Shopify Pro has been a pleasure to work with. We were excited to have them involved. I don’t have a background in web design, since I’m a chef, so we just send them the information of what we would like and how we want our website to work for the customer, and they magically make it happen. They accommodate any tweaks that need to be done on the platform until it is exactly the way we want it.
We communicate back and forth as they’re doing the development. There were times when I had to get on a phone call to clarify our objectives, but we were mostly corresponding through Shopify Pro’s chat platform. It’s also nice that we get a very quick response for whatever we’re asking, as there’s always someone who’s working on the project.
What did you find most impressive about them?
The most impressive thing about Shopify Pro is the speed of their response and the efficient way they get things done.
Are there any areas they could improve?
We’ve experienced a bit of a language barrier sometimes during our conversations. Other than that, there’s nothing for them to improve on. We still got everything done.

Our website was developed by previous owner, and the subscription process was tedious for the customer; my goal was to streamline this process, while also re-doing the look of the website based on our re-branded image.

I had done a search for Shopify development expertes, identified and selected Shopify Pro New York based on their previous experience and obviouse knowledge

The scope of the work was to design a new look to the subscription process, as well as a streamlined subscription process using Shopify themes.

I worked with a Project Manager, web designer and a main developer.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?
Awesome job, conversion rates have increased and the website looks fantastic.
Describe their project management style, including communication tools and timelines.
We utilized Skype, developed a timeline to complete which they met including some "scope creep" that occurred. The process was simple, I had direct communication not just with the Project Manager but with the designer and developer throughout the process which help expedite delivery.
What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?
Their ability to understand the scope of work, as well as their communication throughout the process; in addition, the cost of the project was very reasonable.
Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?
None. These guys are the best group of developers we've worked with.

I am the CEO of nvinc.com and salestaxsystem.com and we are where successful e-commerce sellers turn first to protect and grow their profits when they launch in the U.S.
Specifically, we help e-commerce sellers and entrepreneurs structure their business to maximize their profits, eliminate tax surprises, ensure sales tax compliance, expand their brand, and enhance their assets.

Our websites were both updated one five years ago and one 12 months ago by a branding company that helped, but we need the next level of design for optimizing leads and sales. We needed someone who understood branding, conversion, and coding in a one-stop-shop.

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?
We searched several and ran some test tasks and found that their analysis and presentation were much more detailed than anyone else. We wanted a firm that was responsive, detailed, and sharp.

We had a kick-off meeting with a presentation after I shared my concerns, and they had a host of recommendations plus different levels of services with estimated fees involved. It was great to have options. I started with a test part of the project to get the flow of communication down, and it has been smooth ever since.

I worked with the project manager and two senior people on the development and changes of the new pages for our websites.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?
Our redesign on our header and footer, plus key internal pages for strategy sessions, has resulted in an immediate impact in more sales and new leads. Our opt-in volume has doubled after one suggestion on a critical page. We are delighted with our results!

They were very flexible in how we would delegate tasks to them. We used several tools and decided to use a simple google sheet shared with tasks I could add and Skype for daily communication. It has been effortless to work together. Their team has been very patient with my questions. I use Camtasia to delegate new tasks on videos that works well.
What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?
I'm impressed by their ability to fix anything, explain what they did, and show me ways to update in the future on my own. They make marketing suggestions, and open to my input and changes.
Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?
We fixed out the flow of pages to update, the process for me to see them on a test site first than to make them live. Our timing quickly came together.
