We analyzed the renewal issues on the backend of the website store, found the issue, corrected them, and worked with the client to make sure they were satisfied. Most of the project steps and deliverables were handled by the devlelopment team.

Renewals were not going through the backend of the website correctly but now they are all being correctly charged and accounted for on the backend automatically.

The quality of work was awe-inspiring, as well as the turnaround time in solving issues.

I am the only one from my company who worked on this. Upworks assigned a manager, the manager assigned a developer. Initially it was great until he stopped communicating. The project manager then assigned 2 new people who wrapped everything up quickly and professionally!!

I was a little upset at not being completed on time. However that was due more to a third party (ship station) than the actual work of the developers. I do really like the look if my new site!

Communication is via email on basecamp. Phone calls are also possible. In general everything was great. One developer bailed on me and I’m not sure why…. After a couple days I reached out to the project manager who assigned a new, much better team. All good!

I’ve never used this type of company previously so I have nothing to compare. They were fairly easy to work with!

None that I can think of, all good!

From site and business audits to ensuring technical SEO compliance, from checking competitive landscape and keyword research to scaling and applying keyword suggestions and metas for discoverability, from off-site link building and blog posts and towards improving our search rank scores, and finally on recommending site UX and page speed improvements.

There were 7-8 team members. This included business audit, SEO strategy and tactics, and then the front end development side of work.

Keyword ranking increase of 30-60% on the top 100 pages for all top and targeted keywords More than 10 blog posts created as value add, and more than 500 back links created. Page load speed improved from 8 to 5 sec.

They managed everything on the Basecamp app which also connects on email, and work is delivered through Google sheets. They were always well on time in terms of deliverables.

They are professional. Always thinking about client interests first. And flexible enough to accommodate any out of scope or extended tasks. If not by action then by advise.

Integrate Google sheets more into the work flow. It will help with faster and more informed results.

Projects are managed in Basecamp. Communication is off the charts. Whether it’s Basecamp or by phone, they are ALWAYS available. Admittedly, I can be a bit of a pain at times, and these guys have the answers for me anytime, every time.

These are great people. Not only are they great at what they do, but they are a pleasure to work with. Friendly, patient, flexible, transparent...the list goes on.

I’m the founder of an online farmer’s market that is based in Pennsylvania. We have offerings from local food producers and set up a curbside pickup for our member base once a week.

What challenge were you trying to address with Shopify Pro?

We were deciding whether to use Shopify but found that it didn’t have everything we needed to do our business. There were limitations to the platform, especially for the unique service we offer, which is a farmer’s market concept but with a curbside pickup component. We asked Shopify Pro to help us make modifications to the platform to better fit our business needs. 

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Being a startup during the COVID-19 pandemic, we were only in our infant months of creation, so we had to focus on the website itself. We were able to do most of the work on the frontend since Shopify is so easy to use, but Shopify Pro helped us with backend development, coding and making custom modifications to its functionalities.

Their team made it possible for users to schedule a pickup time. They also brought on certain apps to allow us to conduct our business. We test the product several times to make sure it works the way we want it to, and they make changes to it if necessary. 

What is the team composition?

We had a main contact from the very beginning. Other team members are also involved and offer their different expertise on the different aspects of the website. At most, we are in touch with three people. 

They offered other departments to work with us and offer frontend and advertising advice, but at this phase in the business, we’re just sticking with the backend team.

How did you come to work with Shopify Pro?

We posted a job to find the right company to work with. I spoke to at least 10 different service providers, but we decided to work with Shopify Pro since they did a great job of explaining how they could help us. Their price point, level of expertise, and professionalism were the right fit for us.

They made communication easy through a chat platform, where we told them what we were looking to do and what we needed to be modified and recoded.

How much have you invested with them?

We’ve invested probably a few thousand dollars.

What is the status of this engagement?

We began around March 2020 and we have an ongoing relationship. As our business grows and as issues come up during website maintenance, we simply jump right back on their chat system and they respond right away.

We tell people that we’ve taken to a Shopify platform with a little help from an outside company and we’ve gotten compliments on the website’s functionality and user-friendliness. 

How did Shopify Pro perform from a project management standpoint?

Shopify Pro has been a pleasure to work with. We were excited to have them involved. I don’t have a background in web design, since I’m a chef, so we just send them the information of what we would like and how we want our website to work for the customer, and they magically make it happen. They accommodate any tweaks that need to be done on the platform until it is exactly the way we want it.  

We communicate back and forth as they’re doing the development. There were times when I had to get on a phone call to clarify our objectives, but we were mostly corresponding through Shopify Pro’s chat platform. It’s also nice that we get a very quick response for whatever we’re asking, as there’s always someone who’s working on the project.

What did you find most impressive about them?

The most impressive thing about Shopify Pro is the speed of their response and the efficient way they get things done. 

Are there any areas they could improve?

We’ve experienced a bit of a language barrier sometimes during our conversations. Other than that, there’s nothing for them to improve on. We still got everything done.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

If you need help building out a website, Shopify Pro is an expert that’s not going to charge you a ton but will give you incredible results. I highly recommend that you work with them.

They were very flexible in how we would delegate tasks to them. We used several tools and decided to use a simple google sheet shared with tasks I could add and Skype for daily communication. It has been effortless to work together. Their team has been very patient with my questions. I use Camtasia to delegate new tasks on videos that works well.

I'm impressed by their ability to fix anything, explain what they did, and show me ways to update in the future on my own. They make marketing suggestions, and open to my input and changes.

We fixed out the flow of pages to update, the process for me to see them on a test site first than to make them live. Our timing quickly came together.
