I’m the CTO of Lextegrity. We’re a startup that provides a SaaS platform to minimize the legal headcount for compliance organizations. Our solution tracks different types of activities that may require compliance.

What challenge were you trying to address with Dressler Consulting?

We had built a proof of concept as a product and had it out to market with one client. However, we wanted to scale our development team and simultaneously manage costs. We hired Dressler Consulting to increase our ability to deliver new products in short order.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Dressler Consulting built the platform with a reporting dashboard using cloud stacks. The solution, a workflow engine with generic form creation, has a React frontend and Node.js backend. Users can create and customize forms to their organizations’ specific activities and workflows. The team now manages our data warehouse. We intend to integrate the solution with a larger API.

What is the team composition?

We work with their project manager, who also acts as a Scrum master. There’s also a team lead that oversees five developers, two QA specialists, and a business analyst.

How did you come to work with Dressler Consulting?

We looked for full-stack developers on a modest-sized, scalable, and flexible, team that could handle our technology stack. I knew Dressler Consulting through a professional organization.

How much have you invested with them?

We’ve spent at least $500,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working together in April 2018 and the partnership is ongoing.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

The solution is launched and we can now release new functionalities in parallel for different customers. As a result, we’ve signed up three new clients.

How did Dressler Consulting perform from a project management standpoint?

We’ve had a few challenges due to the language barrier. But as a whole, the team has matured and become more comfortable communicating in English. We use Jira, Slack, and Confluence.

What did you find most impressive about them?

We needed senior resources due to the technology stack’s complexity; Dressler Consulting met that challenge. Data is their specialty. The team proactively allocates resources to make that expertise available for our team.

Are there any areas they could improve?

They are a growing company and scaling challenges are expected. Likewise, some resources weren’t available when we expected them to be. Dressler Consulting could have communicated those instances more proactively.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Clients should treat Dressler Consulting like they are part of their internal team. Engage them and they will engage back.

We hired them to act as our development partner.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Dressler Consulting creates full stack products that integrate with our internal platform. Their efforts include developing customer-facing content and complex APIs. They’ve led significant development projects for iOS, Android, and web platforms as well. Everything is built on AWS, but they also use Azure, C++, and the .NET platform. Additionally, they use a variety of reporting tools to track analytics relating to each product. They serve our needs as required and are quick to onboard new resources.

What is the team composition?

They’ve allocated about 10 teams to work on different parts of our platform. Each team consists of backend developers, frontend designers, a scrum master, and a business analyst. They also assign a translator to help with products being made for foreign countries.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working together in July 2018 and the engagement is ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Our partnership with Dressler Consulting enables us to develop products quickly and with consistent quality. Our internal project managers appreciate what they deliver and are happy with the current arrangement.

How did Dressler Consulting perform from a project management standpoint?

Their ability to integrate with our day-to-day processes is one of their greatest strengths. Dressler Consulting’s project managers and scrum masters are excellent communicators. We hold a formal meeting with them once a week to analyze each project’s progression. They’re forthcoming with any issues that occur and work toward finding actionable solutions.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They’re invested in our success. Their teams are responsive, flexible, and willing to overcome a time zone difference by working different schedules.

Are there any areas they could improve?

We’d like to have a local delivery manager assigned to some of our projects. Having a resource dedicated to mitigating the challenges involved with communicating from different time zones would be helpful. I believe they’re currently working to create and fill that kind of position.
