Business Need:
The client wanted to create a similar application like quick a survey. Only need to exclude create survey part. He wanted to integrate those data from quick a survey using their API. Rest of the offline management of responses and reporting section should be part of

this application. The client having few initial constraints when he discussed his requirement with us. He didn't want to go with a very different layout then quick a survey as his existing clients are used to with that layout. The second point, he wanted that his existing data on the quick survey should be supported by the new application. Input flow of data from the client network was hundreds of records per day. So he wanted fast performance while searching particular response/survey or showing analytic report at any given point in time.

Architecture(if any): CakePHP MVC

Proposed Solution: After Looking to the client's needs with his constraints, we decided to go with CakePHP with backend as MySQL. Also, we need to pull data from the quicktapsurvey server into our application in offline mode. We had created the cronjob which will pull data using quicktapsurvey API regularly and saved on our server for later use. There were hundreds of records pulled out into our database in the day from quicktapsurvey.

    We’re a facilities management company called Hi-spec Facilities Services Ltd. I’m the IT and systems director.

    What challenge were you trying to address with Doyenhub Software Solutions?

    We needed development for our internal system. We were having problems with paperwork, such as filing, tracing, looking for information, and keeping up to date with everything. We needed a system that would allow us to manage all our interactions internally and externally with our customers.

    SOLUTION

    What was the scope of their involvement?

    The main purpose of the system is to be online and have up-to-date reports. I’m the architect or designer of our web system, while they develop the technical side of the system. I submit requests, drawings, and examples of what I want and how I want it to work, then they execute it and deliver the results.

    They started very small and then it developed from there, using PHP and MySQL for the database.

    What is the team composition?

    Initially, we had one developer and now we have two. Next year, we’re looking at scaling up to four developers.

    How did you come to work with Doyenhub Software Solutions?

    I chose them out of 20–25 companies on Guru.com. They seemed knowledgeable and very interested in this project.

    How much have you invested in them?

    We’ve spent roughly around $45,000.

    We began working with them in April 2017 and the relationship is ongoing.

    RESULTS & FEEDBACK

    What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

    The system is currently used by our customers, as well as internally by our managers. It’s completely changed the way we work, and we’ve gotten really positive feedback from our customers. It seems like everyone is happy with it. Our customers appreciate having the reports there when they need them. The system itself is easy to navigate, easy to fetch information from, and easy to interact with.

    Bugs and glitches are part of development, and even now we do find small bugs here and there. However, in general, the delivery of the system is good, and they spent time testing and solving problems.

    How did Doyenhub Software Solutions perform from a project management standpoint?

    The project management is top class. We use an online tool to communicate, so if we find a problem or a bug, we report it and they resolve it straight away. We have a project manager who is brilliant and communicate three or four times a week. They came to see us here in the U.K., and it has been great so far.

    They’re always available on Skype, email, or the project management system. If there are any problems that arise, I would talk to the project manager, but I haven’t had any major problems during the engagement.

    What did you find most impressive about them?

    Their ability to execute exactly what I’m looking for has been impressive. When I started with them, I wasn’t sure if they were going to be able to do it—or even if it was possible. After giving them different tasks, I soon realized that everything is possible with them. Knowing that they can find solutions and deliver results is good and means I’m not hesitant when giving them any tasks. We trust that they will deliver.

    Are there any areas they could improve?

    They do more than other companies—I don’t think they could do any more for us.

    Do you have any advice for potential customers?

    Know exactly what you want. Any company can deliver a solution, but if a customer knows what they want, it’s more likely that their expectations will be met. I would always advise deciding what you need and giving very clear instructions. You will definitely get the result you expect with Doyenhub if you do that.
