I am Chief Disrupter and Global Head of HP Tech Ventures, the corporate VC arm of HP Inc.

For what projects/services did your company hire DoubleShot Creative, and what were your goals?

We used Doubleshot to support a wide range of projects focused on driving thought leadership for HP Tech Ventures via website, social media, podcasts, blogs, events and industry presentations. Our goals were to drive awareness for HP Tech Ventures in the startup and venture ecosystem to attract quality deal-flow, and to support our portfolio companies by raising awareness for their products and services.

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

I've had a long-term relationship with DoubleShot stretching back years. They consistently deliver high-quality results, are great to work with, and deliver excellent value. They are also just great people and fun to work with. They are accessible, responsive, flexible and understand how to work effectively with large companies like HP.

From requirements assessment through to execution, including regular reports on key metrics and results. Experience working with all digital marketing tools and social media sites you would expect.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

Consistent, high-quality results, both in terms of production quality and audience engagement.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

Excellent collaboration between the teams, with regular calls and updates, and ad-hoc calls/emails as needed. Doubleshot are always accessible, responsive to requests, ensure expectations are set and met, and extremely easy to work with.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

The depth of their experience and the passion and creativity they bring to every project we work with them on.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

Nothing comes to mind. They are as good as it gets!

I’m the CEO of Indicia Labs, a cryptocurrency data analytics company.

What challenge were you trying to address with DoubleShot Creative?

We’re a very young startup, so we wanted to work with an agency that will help us develop our branding persona.

What was the scope of their involvement?

We started the partnership by fleshing out our ideas, resolving initial issues, and figuring out how to articulate the key values our company represents. This led to the development of our mission and vision statements, as well as proposals for several logos, color palettes, web layouts, and marketing collateral.

They also provided us with competitor research and from there, we finalized our brand identity, company values, and culture.

What is the team composition?

We had about 4–5 people from their team working with us.

How did you come to work with DoubleShot Creative?

A good friend who works at DoubleShot Creative recommended them for this project. I chose to work with their team because I had a more personable connection with them.

How much have you invested with them?

We spent about $25,000–$30,000 on this project.

What is the status of this engagement?

We worked together from December 2021–July 2022.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Our shareholders were impressed with our branding and identity, specifically our logo. Our persona and website have come across well in our industry, and everything we’ve done has been a success.

How did DoubleShot Creative perform from a project management standpoint?

They were precise from a project management standpoint. They adhered to our timelines and were pushing to keep up with them.

What did you find most impressive about them?

We were impressed with their creativity as they were able to help us focus our perspective on what we wanted to achieve as a startup. They thought outside the box and delivered a beautiful style guideline.

Are there any areas they could improve?

We could’ve communicated more efficiently and used a different method of communication other than email. 

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

If you’re thinking of working with them, don’t be afraid to ask for other services for your specific needs because they’re very good at fine-tuning projects even though they’re a small team.

I’m the owner of a small law firm in Redwood City.

What challenge were you trying to address with DoubleShot Creative?

I was changing the name of the firm; it was a sole proprietorship earlier, and I formed a professional corporation. With the new name, we needed a new website, letterhead, business cards, and a complete rebranding overall.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

DoubleShot Creative did our website redesign from scratch. Since we had a brand new name, we started the process with the logo. We had meetings to collect information on our background before we started the project. The team had a defined timeline and goals, so we needed to provide them with information and turn around the response. We arrived at a logo and font, and once that was ironed out, they produced the letterhead and business cards concurrently with the website.

They created the site using Squarespace because we wanted to have the ability to edit and revise things ourselves. DoubleShot Creative also incorporated the graphic design and layout we’d agreed upon. Additionally, they coordinated a local photographer to come to the office and take photos of our staff for the website. We went back and forth several times to finalize everything and make the final tweaks. Ultimately, we launched the website, and they delivered the stationery, templates, graphics, and print materials.

What is the team composition?

Kathy (VP of Production) was my main point of contact. Additionally, 3–4 people were copied on our emails, including Patty (Founder & Creative Director) and Lauren (Creative Director).

How did you come to work with DoubleShot Creative?

They were upstairs in my office complex. I thought I’d keep things local, so I went to them as my neighbors and asked them if we could work it out. They gave me a quote; it was more affordable than I was expecting, so I agreed to start.

How much have you invested with them?

We spent under $10,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working with them in April 2022, and they completed the project in June 2022. We’ve reached out a couple of times for some questions, but the work is finished.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Since they replaced our old website and forwarded everything to the new one, we don’t have specific metrics. However, they updated our Google listing as a favor, so those improvements have undoubtedly directed more traffic. Moreover, the reception has been great. We like it better than the old site, and the logo looks professional. Clients, opposing counsels, and lawyers love the logo, so we have nothing but positive feedback.

Overall, DoubleShot Creative was a one-stop shop and one of the best experiences we’ve had working with an outside company.

How did DoubleShot Creative perform from a project management standpoint?

They got it all done on schedule and within the budget. We had no overruns or delays; they did their due diligence in the beginning so we didn't have to do many revisions. We mainly communicated through email and Zoom.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Their service and responsiveness were top-notch. They quickly devised a detailed plan of action and executed it flawlessly. Unlike other large firms, DoubleShot Creative was far more nimble and responsive. We enjoyed having one direct point of contact who constantly updated us. Moreover, the team provided us with information and hit all the deadlines; it was a pleasure to work with them.

Are there any areas they could improve?

No, I had no complaints. They were right on time and within budget.

Cowbell is a new generation of Cyber Insurance provider that focuses on small and medium-sized enterprises and uses technology to make cyber coverage accessible to all businesses, regardless of size. As Senior Vice President of Marketing and Technology Partners At Cowbell, I am responsible for all aspects of positioning, branding, campaigns, lead generation and partner relationships.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

For what projects/services did your company hire DoubleShot Creative, and what were your goals?

Our business had expanded exponentially, and we needed to elevate our brand from the initial Series A startup launch to look like a fast-growth, billion-dollar company. The project included the rework of our value proposition, the upgrade of our logo and branding as well as our website.

SOLUTION

How did you select this vendor?

Our investors recommended Doubleshot when we needed to develop an initial 2min video, 12 months prior. Despite operating in a brand new market (Cyber Insurance), Doubleshot understood our needs immediately. Our work styles were also instantly compatible. Doubleshot was a no-brainer when we needed a partner to elevate our brand. We even did not evaluate any other vendor.

Prior to the project, we collected internal feedback and requirements on website, brand, positioning and messaging and fed this feedback to Doubleshot. At the start of the project, we conducted a brainstorming session between Doubleshot and the senior members of the company with the filter that we want to look like a billion-dollar company in 2 years' time and that the brand needed to represent this. Doubleshot guided Cowbell's executives through brainstorming providing constructive input at every turn and making suggestions early on. The entire executive team was impressed by their ability to rapidly comprehend and respond to our needs.

How many people from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?

Doubleshot lined up a team to work on the various aspects of the project: - rebranding project management: firm partner - graphic design and branding (2) - website implementation (2) - administrative project manager: firm partner.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

The project was completed in 2 1/2 months with no glitches and incredibly positive feedback on the new branding. While we have had numerous discussions over the new logo, Doubleshot helped us navigate through the various options in a very constructive way. Best comment: "It looks polished and sophisticated."

Describe their project management style, including communication tools and timeliness.

We had weekly meetings with an agenda set ahead of time where priorities were synced between the teams and milestones were validated or revisited. The success of the project was due in part to the great communication throughout the project.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

Doubleshot showed amazing commitment and ability to understand our business, our values, where we were coming from, and where we wanted to land in 2 years. Combined with diligent research, they were able to present us with branding options that were all highly relevant.
