What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
I’m extremely happy with dook.pro’s work. They picked up what I regarded as a complicated project—which the previous team couldn’t deliver—and delivered a product within five months or less. We’ve had a near-complete overhaul of all the technologies involved.
They had to familiarize themselves with some of the scraping technologies used. It was all done quickly and I was surprised by their ability to simplify the whole database and scraping structure on the backend.
My CTO was pleased that we now have just one database, one input/output API, and one scraping tool. Previously, these were all a mishmash of various tools. We had a complex infrastructure and we now have a very simple, straightforward one. In conclusion, if my CTO is happy, then I’m happy.
How did dook.pro perform from a project management standpoint?
They came up with appropriate tools depending on task's complexity, from Excel to a dedicated project management tool. They answer all our questions over Slack, and we can use the tool to bring everyone up-to-speed quickly. It’s worked very well.
The overall process of working with them was efficient. Every member of their team is very much up to their role. They provide assistance whenever we have a question or need feedback. My CTO handled much of the interaction, but I got involved in feature discussions, given that I’m the spiritual father of this project. They made constant suggestions, and never left open-ended questions.
What did you find most impressive about them?
We’ve used some specific backend technologies and I’ve been impressed by their ability to get up-to-speed with those. dook.pro was also capable of suggesting immediate improvements. They reached out to worldwide communities in order to find answers to the questions we had.
I’ve liked their eagerness and proactiveness on tacking the various issues we had, in terms of complexity and the previous team’s inability to deliver. dook.pro managed to deliver the product in five months, whereas we'd struggled with the previous team for a considerably longer time and for more money.
Are there any areas they could improve?
Not really. We had a not-so-pleasant experience with our previous team, but I’ve really liked dook.pro. They’re truly a team; if I address a question to the wrong person, I will immediately get contacted by the right one. I’m extremely happy with them and I’ve promised to bring them a cake the next time I’m there.
