BACKGROUND

Introduce your business and what you do there.

I work at a consulting company where I do crisis communication training along with public relations and marketing consultation for different companies.

I’m also the vice president of advancement and engagement at the Northern Pennsylvania Regional College.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

What challenge were you trying to address with Do Design Inc?

I’ve hired them for a variety of different industries such as healthcare, education, and nonprofits.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

They involve the client each step of the way, including the initial brainstorming. They gather information throughout the process. Before developing the campaign, they’ll present a theme and concept along with a storyboard. They’ll typically provide 3-4 options to us. 

Right now, they serve as our agency of record at the Northern Pennsylvania Regional College. They’ve worked on print, print ads, television, radio, and they’re currently working on an animated commercial campaign.

What is the team composition?

Most times, I deal directly with the owner. I’ve dealt with some of the other creative design folks as well.

How did you come to work with Do Design Inc?

I admired their creative work for another hospital in the same market I was in. I said, “when I move markets I’m taking them with me.” When I entered another market and had a need for a campaign, I called Do Design Inc, and I’ve been with them ever since.

How much have you invested with them?

Over time, the investment has totaled between $50,000 and $200,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working together in 2005, and the partnership is ongoing.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

I continue to use them because they continue to produce results.  We’ve implemented community perception studies to find a baseline of how people perceive us. Then, we go back years later to see if we’ve moved the mark. Do Design has always helped us move the mark.

We also keep track of growth such as if we’re increasing the patient census or increasing our student census. The results have always shown that we’ve grown. 

Also, we won first-place awards through a hospital I was working at. We won about 6-7 awards for their work in different categories spanning print, television, and radio.

How did Do Design Inc perform from a project management standpoint?

They have a flexible process to make sure they’re producing a product you’ll be happy with. They’ve never had a problem about missing deadlines. They keep me updated on the progress of projects, and they’ll let me know about any unforeseen issues. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

They’re one of the most creative agencies I’ve ever worked with, even though they’re working with smaller budgets. I would put the work they’ve done for me up against companies that spend millions of dollars on campaigns. 

They don’t provide cookie-cutter type of solutions. They listen to the need and then they’ll devise a campaign to fit that need and its market.

Are there any areas they could improve?

No. When I find something that works, I stick with it. So, I’ve used them a number of times throughout my career.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Give them the opportunity. They are an affordable, creative option that’s easy to work with. They say, “It’s our job to make the client look good.” That’s what they’re all about, and that’s what they’ve done for me.
