Centaur Technology, a subsidiary of VIA Technologies, designs high-performance, feature-rich x86 microprocessor cores and systems on a chip. As the HR director, I am responsible for recruiting, employee relations, culture, etc.

For what projects/services did your company hire Divining Point?

We hired Divining Point to do a quick overhaul of our existing website in preparation for our college recruiting push. There were a number of things not working on the site.

What were your goals for this project?

Initially, we wanted to get the site up and running smoothly before our recruiting events started in the fall of 2018. Our ultimate goal is to do a complete remake of the site in 2019.

SOLUTION

How did you select this vendor?

We looked at several vendors' websites, checked out samples of their previous work, and reached out by email. We were so pleased with our interaction with Coy (CEO, Divining Point) that we decided to give them the initial project. It would also be a gauge of whether or not to use Divining Point for the larger project in 2019.

Describe the project and the services they provided in detail.

Divining Point conducted a review and analysis of our existing website. They identified multiple security and optimization issues, some that we were unaware of. After fixing these bugs, they also made content updates. Plus, they created a poster that we needed for an event with no delays or hesitation.

What was the team composition?

At least three people were working on the project. Coy was our primary contact, which was nice.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

Can you share any information that demonstrates the impact that this project has had on your business?

Our fall recruiting efforts were successful. Resumes flowed smoothly through the website, and candidates were able to find all of the information they needed.

How was project management arranged and how effective was it?

We were extremely happy with how Divining Point ran the project. Communication was regular and consistent; we didn’t need to prompt them for updates. Coy stayed on top of things and handled all of the requests for information.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

We were extremely impressed with the value we received and with the thorough and timely delivery of services. We are looking forward to working on bigger projects with them in 2019.

There is little they could improve based on our experience with them.

I’m the owner and founder of The Dinner Dude. We provide individually prepared meals for customers who want to maintain a healthy lifestyle on the go.

What challenge were you trying to address with Divining Point?

Customers request deliveries through our website, so it operates as a strategic business unit within the company. Therefore, we needed an experienced firm to redesign the site’s frontend interface while also refreshing its backend structure.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Divining Point built out our website’s core functionalities by improving its inventory management capabilities and making it responsive on mobile. We also asked them to update the UI/UX with professionally photographed images. Additional requirements involved increasing our conversation rate.

During the design prototype stage, I sent them several options and ideas regarding how the site should look. They received our input and responded with productive feedback. Eventually, we agreed on some templates and design elements.

Once we determined what we wanted, Shopify seemed like the best platform to host our site. They began building out the site and developed custom delivery templates. While Shopify provided some standard functionalities, our business requires advanced code that can ensure packing slip delivery. They’ve completed development and have implemented the redesign. Their team provides ongoing support services when necessary.

Coy (Owner, Divining Point) was our primary point of contact. Beyond that, they allocated three additional resources to accomplish various tasks.

Coy and I have been friends for many years, so choosing his firm was an easy decision.

This project took place from October–December 2017.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Customers often got frustrated when using our previous website, and would call the store to place their order. We wanted a streamlined site so that customers would no longer have that experience. Additionally, we wanted a site that could quickly communicate product information faster than our employees could over the phone. Divining Point accomplished both of those goals with ease. Our online conversion rate is significantly higher than before.

We’ve also received positive feedback from longtime clients regarding the frontend redesign. They appreciate how easy it is to navigate the site and place new orders. The UI/UX is much more user-friendly.

How did Divining Point perform from a project management standpoint?

They worked hard to understand what are issues were and how they could solve them. I couldn't have asked for anything more from them. As we finished each meeting, they scheduled the next meeting and a subsequent follow-up meeting. They adhered to that schedule impeccably. I couldn’t have asked for anything more from them.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Above all else, I appreciate their ability to listen. I’ve been around this business for 10 years and have worked with firms that don’t always pay attention to their client’s needs. Divining Point internalizes the challenges we communicate to provide creative solutions.

I have no complaints regarding the work they’ve done.
