I’m the marketing and social media manager for Infinite Recovery. We’re an addiction treatment center in Austin, Texas.

What challenge were you trying to address with DIGITECH?

We wanted to work on our SEO and website.

What was the scope of their involvement?

I’d designed our previous WordPress site, and it wasn’t optimized for load time and SEO.

They revamped everything from our web layout to the copy. In particular, they targeted blogs and load times. In the end, they kept our design similar but made adjustments to focus on more keywords for our SEO efforts, while focusing attention on the site’s interactivity.

All of the copy was redone. They were targeting several new keywords through that content preproduction. We worked collaboratively on the new text. They would send me the first draft, and I replied with suggestions to make the copy more true to our company’s practices.  

What is the team composition?

We worked directly with three people: Darryl (Founder, DIGITECH), Jake (VP & Creative Director, DIGITECH), and Amanda (Content Writer, DIGITECH).

How did you come to work with DIGITECH?

My boss and the owner of my company recommended them because he had an ongoing relationship with their team. 

How much have you invested with them?

We spent about $6,000 every month for their services.

What is the status of this engagement?

 We started working together in October 2018, and continue to collaborate now.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We show high in search results for keywords we weren’t even targeting before. Most importantly, we’ve seen a notable uptick in leads. The admission rates from the web have significantly increased.

Our team often gets feedback from families of patients. They regularly praise the site for being detailed yet easy to navigate. Typically, they’ll reference our levels of care page during those conversations. I, along with the internal team, feel that the site is a direct representation of our company. That was thanks to the collaborative effort.

How did DIGITECH perform from a project management standpoint?

We had several in-person meetings because we’re located in the same city. Those were in addition to a weekly conference call and email chains. They were so easy to work with, fixing issues immediately after I brought them up. That was super helpful because I never had to remind them of the problems. That hasn’t always been true with our past partners.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They’re very invested in our success, even if it’s outside of the scope of their work. Darryl has opened our eyes to things that we wouldn’t have known about before.

There isn’t anything I can think of.

Don’t be afraid to give your input. Even if you’re not an expert in the area, they’ll always hear you out.

DIGITECH was key in both the development and design of the site. To start off, I met with a project manager to discuss steps for the development and implementation of my vision. From there, they custom coded the website, taking feedback from me along the way. 

The finished product is a marketplace for law enforcement professionals to post gear. It was important to me that both the front- and backend of the site was user-friendly, so changes could be easily applied. 

What is the team composition?

I interface directly with a project manager and believe there are at least 3–4 developers working on the project. 

How did you come to work with DIGITECH?

I spent six months talking with and calling web developers both in and out of Texas to find the right fit. Many service providers weren’t up for the project because they didn’t know how to build everything I needed on my site. DIGITECH had some great reviews online and looked affordable. I reached out, and they were a good fit immediately.   

I’m still working with them to make small adjustments and add some more functionalities to the site.

How much have you invested with them?

I’ve invested about $68,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

The project lasted from September 2018–June 2019. But, we are still making slight changes post-launch.

Users say they love the look and feel of the site, all able to navigate it easily. We are just starting out, but we expect this to really catch on over the next couple of years.

DIGITECH performed extensive development on an outdated website. They researched our industry and competitors to find new ideas to improve our site. Their team worked with us to understand our specific needs, adapting to fit specifications for several of our worldwide platforms.

Once they understood our vision and requirements, they presented us with wireframes in different styles from which we selected a design. They then executed a design to build a state-of-the-art product for both web and mobile devices. 

What is the team composition?

Jake Wooldridge (Senior Designer, DIGITECH) was our main point of contact. We had three people who we worked with, but Jake was the day-to-day contact.

How did you come to work with DIGITECH?

I found them on a web design blog. We reviewed three different companies, but DIGITECH won out based on price, design ability, and their willingness to work with our situation. They were very forward-thinking and our team unanimously agreed on them as our final choice.

What is the status of this engagement?

The project began in November of 2018 and wrapped up in May 2019. There was a pause in development on our end for a few months during that time.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

They performed like experts in the field. DIGITECH went above and beyond in researching the competition and providing a great design based on that work. They were able to give a consistent look and feel across different devices. 

Unlike other companies, they were very respectful of our budget constraints. They were able to give a consistent look and feel across different devices. When they found something that might not work, they were able to keep frustrations to a minimum by finding an alternative immediately.

How did DIGITECH perform from a project management standpoint?

They were great with project management. The turnaround time was quick; they often delivered work early. We used a project board to comment on designs on InVision. They also had a sample website up to generate feedback and keep a conversation going. 

We had multiple phone calls and emails every week. DIGITECH’s team communicated well and were easy to work with. Whenever an issue arose, they were quick to find an alternative and limit frustrations. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

I was impressed with their speed and rapid turnaround. It was a huge project, and they were able to implement new designs within a three-day window, which was exciting for us. They were also very respectful of our budget constraints, which made them stand out from other companies.

Are there any areas they could improve?

None that I can think of.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

I would advise taking their research very seriously. Spend as much time as you can researching other sites to get a clear picture of what you want. The more time you put in, the better the result will be.

The new site has cool features, including a background video on the homepage, a quote feature for potential customers, and a process animation that explains our manufacturing procedures. The site is built in WordPress, and they used a separate extension for the animations. Aesthetically, they made the whole site look great.

I'm not sure how many people worked on their backend, but we communicated directly with a client representative and a main technical lead. We also spoke with the owner on occasion, and he was always available when we needed him.

We don't sell to the end-user, so our metrics aren't the most useful indicator of our success. We are working to break into the aerospace industry. Since we finished the website, we’ve penetrated that vertical. It may not be the only reason we've made that progress, but it's definitely a factor. The site represents us really well.

They were very good project managers, and they used a software to track timelines and requests. They were always on top of everything, and their communication with our team was excellent. We interacted via phone and email.

When I work with partners, I build on a good relationship. They were instantly communicative, and their CEO is accessible when we need him. Trust is very important to me, and that trust comes with effective communication.

We had a number of phone meetings with Darryl (CEO, DIGITECH) and with Jake (Web Designer, DIGITECH). The challenge is that, even though ketamine has been around for over 40 years, it is now being used for fundamentally new indications.

This project wasn’t like creating a website for a dental practice—a concept which most people understand. We had to create a website that not only differentiates us from our competition but also one that educates and explains to potential patients why this therapy would be worth trying in the first place.

What was the team composition?

We worked very closely with Darryl and Jake.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

We ended up with a website that totally blew our previous site out of the water. Many of our colleagues and patients have given us feedback that the site is not only informative but that it really bumped our professional image up by several notches.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

They were excellent. Timelines were always clearly defined, and deliverables were always on time.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

The field that we work in—namely ketamine infusion therapy—is challenging to explain to people because it’s such a new and disruptive concept in medicine. DIGITECH was able to take the big picture concepts of ketamine therapy and package them in a website that is not only beautiful but also does a great job of conveying the information in a way that makes it easy for people to understand.

During our discussions, Darryl would formulate a plan based on my concept. Whenever I asked them a question via email, they’d send us a response the same day. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

DIGITECH demonstrated an impressive ability to make our website work properly and efficiently across multiple platforms. In the past, I’ve had issues with our site failing to display things correctly on certain browsers or devices. The site they developed has been smooth and fast. I can’t recall it having any issues.

Are there any areas they could improve?

No. I’ve had a valuable and professional experience working with DIGITECH on multiple projects. They provided what we paid for, and I’m happy with the end result.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

DIGITECH is highly detail oriented. Being upfront with them will enable the team to develop exactly what you need. Don’t leave out any details. I suggest keeping a log you can reference to ensure nothing gets missed.  The last thing you want is for a vendor to have to redo something because you forgot to explain it.

I’m the office manager for Shattuck Labs. We’re a biotech company that’s developing a breakthrough platform for immunotherapy.

We wanted an experienced development company to redesign our rudimentary website.

What was the scope of their involvement?

DIGITECH agreed to design and develop a new website for us. After completing an initial screening process, we met with their project manager to discuss the scope further. We wanted a different kind of site; one that gets people’s attention and is memorable. They presented several potential logos and UI/UX outlines. We selected the best options, but also provided some feedback regarding how each deliverable could be improved. Once they delivered more wireframes and a distinctive logo, we moved into the website development phase.

The final product was built on WordPress. Now that the initial development process is complete, we’ve contracted DIGITECH to host our site on an ongoing basis. We also plan to have them integrate additional features in the future.

What is the team composition?

We primarily communicate with an assigned project manager, but I’ve interacted with a total of three resources from their team.

How did you come to work with DIGITECH?

We found them through an extensive search process. Their portfolio consists of varied and polished websites. While other firms clearly use similar templates for each client, DIGITECH puts their efforts into creating custom interfaces. After coming to that conclusion, we decided to hire them.

How much have you invested with them?

We’ve spent roughly $30,000–$40,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We hired them in May 2018, and the engagement is ongoing.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

DIGITECH did a great job listening to our needs and implementing changes. The new site looks professional and receives positive feedback from both clients and internal stakeholders. They’ve sent us training videos so we can learn to navigate the WordPress backend and make quick changes. The site has only been live for a week, but we’re proud of how it looks and performs.

How did DIGITECH perform from a project management standpoint?

We have a dedicated meeting scheduled with them each week. That’s handled over the phone, but more immediate communication is done through Basecamp. As a result, we interact with them almost daily. They’re also better at hitting deadlines than us. Luckily, their team is patient and professional.

What did you find most impressive about them?

I don’t have enough experience with third-party vendors to compare them with their competition. However, I do know that we’re extremely happy with the service they provide.

Are there any areas they could improve?

I don’t have any issues with their performance at this time. They were kind enough not to charge us with a penalty fee when we failed to deliver some materials on-time.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Communicate proactively and give DIGITECH a detailed project scope. They’re able to think creatively, so don’t be afraid to ask them for innovative designs.

For us right now, it’s just going to be website redesign. It’s possible we might use digiTech in the future for SEO [search engine optimization], but not right now.

I can’t remember how exactly I was connected with him. I think he may have been referred to me by someone else, but we’ve know each other for four years now. He helped me with another project back in 2011. Since then, I’ve kept his information and watched his company grow in time, and continued to look at the work that he’s done. We refer our clients to him all the time.

Can you provide a ballpark dollar figure for the size of the work that they’ve done for you?

It was less than $10,000.

What is the current status of the project?

Our relationship is ongoing. I’m hoping we can finish the website in the next 30 days [April 2014].

Are you satisfied with their performance?

Absolutely. We went back and forth in the beginning stages, talking with Darryl. He pulled his team together and gave us three different templates that they created, which would be a branding message for our company. We selected one of them, and now we’re at the point where we need to start filling it with content. He’s very open to suggestions and information. I think he took our vision and really put it into something that’s going to be useful for our company going forward. It’s going to be a big help and a change for our website.

Is there anything unique about them that really makes them stand out, compared to other companies?

I think one of the things digiTech brings to the table is the communication process. They have a pretty good process in place to get proposals out to clients for review and approval, and I think that’s very helpful. So, the communication aspect is key. A lot of other Web developers fall by the wayside, and you can’t get in touch with them. digiTech is very open to communication, and I have never had any problems getting in touch with them for anything I’ve ever needed.

Looking back on the work so far, is there any area that you think they could improve upon or something that you might do differently?

I can’t think of anything. Nothing that really stands out. They are a solid group, and they are very committed to the craft. I wouldn’t be referring people to him if I didn’t think he could deliver.

What advice would you give to a future client of theirs?

If it’s a client that’s considering them, I would say that I highly recommend that they use digiTech rather than competitors.

They fixed the problem with Google and built another website for us. digiTech handles our organic SEO [search engine optimization], Google AdWords, and now our website and the content on our website.

They were referred by another client of mine. We interviewed two or three SEO companies. They were able to make us feel comfortable with what we wanted to do.

It was from $10,000 to $50,000.

When was the work completed?

It’s ongoing work. It hasn’t been a year yet.

Do you have any statistics or metrics to track improvement from the project?

I haven’t received any major feedback from customers who use our website. I know we have been growing sales with pay-to-click ads and Google AdWords that have directly brought us new leads. We went from being on the top page to dropping to page 17. Now, we’re ranking back up on the top page again.

Are you satisfied with their performance?

Yes. So far, digiTech has done exactly what they are supposed to do.

Is there anything unique or special about digiTech Web Design that really makes them stand out compared to other digital marketing agencies?

We’ve only worked with one other company and it’s totally different. We never heard from the other company after we paid them. It wasn’t interactive. We communicate several times a month with digiTech, so it is a real team effort with cooperation and knowledge sharing. 

What advice would you give to future clients of theirs?

Do your research. Call references, talk to experts, and ask a lot of questions. 

Looking back on the work so far, is there any area that you think they could improve upon or that you might do differently?

I don’t have anything to note right now. They’re very easy to work with.
