I’m the president and owner of a travel company. We organize educational and adventure trips to Costa Rica.

What challenge were you trying to address with Digital1010?

We felt that we needed to catch up on many things with our website, so we contacted Digital1010 to take a look and see what we needed. 

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Digital1010 redesigned our WordPress site that handles booking and developed a customized e-commerce site using WooCommerce. They continue to do the maintenance of the site. They also walked us through how to use the new custom CRM, which makes it easier for us. 
 
They also helped us develop an affiliate program to work B2B with US companies, which was something that we really didn’t know existed. It evolved into a lot of new exciting things since we were able to build an entirely new business plan based on that work. 
 
What is the team composition? 

We work with four people.
 
How did you come to work with Digital1010?

We found them on Facebook. I clicked their link and liked what I saw. Just like us, they weren’t a big company. I had worked with bigger companies before and found that it’s much easier to deal with somebody that understands your business a little better since you get personalized attention with a small agency. Digital1010 was willing to offer what we needed to make us feel comfortable; they offered a payment plan, and we got a lot of face time from them. That’s what drew me to Digital1010 over their competitors.
 
How much have you invested with them?

It was $10,000 for the CRM project. That was spread out over our payment plan with them. 
 
What is the status of this engagement?

We started working with them in May 2020, and we launched the site in November 2020.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

My staff is happy that their work is going to be easier, and a lot of people have said that the site looks great. We’ve gotten that feedback.
 
As far as results and metrics, we’ll have to wait until things pick back up in the travel business. I’m feeling confident about what they’ve provided. 
 
How did Digital1010 perform from a project management standpoint?

It was great. If I sent an email, I would get a response immediately. Anytime we had a question, the customer service was great, so we had no complaints whatsoever. We were used to putting on pressure, but with Digital1010, they were the ones on top of us. We met 2–3 times a week just to bounce ideas or check in on the progress — they were very open. We communicated through emails and WhatsApp. 
 
What did you find most impressive about them?

They’re very excited and motivated to see the business succeed, whereas other agencies are excited to see the end product, and that’s what fulfills them. Sitting down and talking with Mike (CEO) felt like getting a business degree. Digital1010 isn’t satisfied until their new site is actually producing more clients for us. 
 
Are there any areas they could improve?

They should streamline the booking process to make it a better search site. They should also have the CRM do its marketing work with client follow-up.
 
Any advice for potential customers?

Stop looking, work with Digital1010.

I’m the founder of Swell Travels, an activities hub. We cater to events and services while donating back toward local environments through our website.

What challenge were you trying to address with Digital1010?

I’d worked with a different set of developers but it didn’t work out because they never understood our business. Because of this, I needed Digital1010 to develop the entire website.

What was the scope of their involvement?

They created our website. In addition to handling the entire process, they also integrated the Woo-Commerce functionality and added the Stripe payment processing features.  

What is the team composition?

At least 4–5 people were supporting the website, with each person having their own responsibilities. I always worked directly with Mike (CEO, Digital1010). 

How did you come to work with Digital1010?

After we started speaking to Mike, we knew they were the right team for our project. Following a referral is almost like a cold call, so we didn’t know until after meeting their team that they were going to be able to personalize the work to fit our needs. Mike is also from my hometown and can relate to the same things that I can. 

How much have you invested with them?

We spent around $11,000. 

What is the status of this engagement?

We worked together from May 2019–January 2020. We’re wrapping up a few things but the majority of the project has already finished.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

They built a completely new website for us so our success in that is attributed to them. Their work was 100%. 

How did Digital1010 perform from a project management standpoint?

They were very on-point and everything was delivered on the right date. Mike was very open and let us know how everything was going. Even though I don’t know all of the technical terms, they made it very easy for me to understand their progress and what their next tasks were. They always knew the next step and made sure everyone was sticking to the system. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

When it came to personalization and knowing what we were looking for with personal touches, they were the best. There are so many different ways to go about creating a website, and they were a great tool in getting us started. They provided great suggestions to improve both time- and budget-wise. Mike also brought all of the right resources to the project for everyone to be involved in the conversations. 

We also had a very dynamic marketplace and there were unforeseen things that happened, but they stuck through it with us. It was a blessing to find a team like this. 

Are there any areas they could improve?

I have nothing bad to say about them. 

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

There are a lot of people that claim they can do the work, but Digital1010 gets it done very quickly. Once you talk to Mike, you’ll know you have the right person to work with. You’ll feel confident knowing they’re the right team behind you.
