Operations monitoring platform: My Dairy Dashboard
Operations monitoring platform that turns production data into actionable insights
My Dairy Dashboard is a web-based platform and output production software that tracks the production process of dairy farms across the US and helps make impactful decisions. This project is developed with Dairy.com by EverAg, a company that offers innovative AgTech solutions that empower agriculture supply chains.
The project is based on the aggregation of internal and external data sources in different formats and the usage of multiple data science and data engineering methods that turn that data into easy-to-interpret results.
Our work consists of creating a data analytics dashboard that converts data into meaningful and actionable insights and metrics. This process includes data collection, transformation, and analysis. Data science and data engineering methods and practices are applied to present information relevant to making decisions on daily business operations. The goal of the solutions is to communicate findings on business operations, especially production, in a cohesive, understandable, and timely manner. Simply, large amounts of data are collected and analyzed for conversion into metrics and KPIs that serve as a base for actions and strategy formation in farm production operations.
Methods
- Implementation and improvement of ETL pipelines for data extraction, processing, and cleaning.
- Data is stored in a data warehouse where business logic is implemented and all-important KPIs and metrics are calculated by combining all data sources
- Data is replicated to data marts which serve data to the application users
Results

Market segmentation and prediction solution
CROATIA osiguranje d.d. is the leading insurance company in the Croatian market.
Through this project, a more precise AI-based market segmentation and market predictions solution was developed.
The solution consolidates multiple data sources to identify common and joint characteristics (geographic, demographics, firmographic). Its main advantage is that it continuously gathers data through software which eliminates the need for manual inputting. It also diminishes the need to analyze each data source separately. An added feature is that it provides analytics for collected data. After defining market segments, it can predict segment movements and behavior based on historical data.
The objectives of this solution in the B2B insurance market were to divide the market and clients according to the company’s size and to create a predictive model of market movements by predefined parameters. Our process involved the elimination of irregularities and errors in data, data transformation, and data modeling.
This solution brings benefits such as clearer marketing communication, optimal sales strategy, better customer retention, and brand loyalty. Furthermore, it optimizes cost efficiency and resource management. It also allows for targeting unutilized market segments that haven’t had their needs met.
Methods
- Client segmentation
- Forecasting market movement by segments
- Web-based GUI implementation
- Data cleansing
- Data analysis
- Machine learning and statistical analysis
- Clustering algorithms (Gaussian Mixture Models)
- Time series analysis (ARIMA)
- Baseline model implementation
Results
- More precisely defined segments
- Defined a new model and approach to market segmentation
- Recognition of new segments
- Enhanced market predictions
- Continuous data intake
- Insights and metrics on market segment characteristics and attributes

Regulatory reporting implementation in the banking
In cooperation with Koios, regulatory reporting implementation was done in order to standardize banks’ data for financial reports run by European Central Bank. Banks’ financial regulatory reports are datasets that contain information about the financial activities, products, and services that business clients use. These reports are aligned with the regulations of the Croatian National Bank and European Central Bank, and some are connected to the euro area. Financial regulatory reporting is all done for the purpose of supervising credit institutions, financial stability analysis, risk management, monetary policy formulation and management, and economic analysis and research.
The main goal was to recognize information needed in reports and their aggregation in a database that serves as a starting point for report generation. Our task was to enable complex regulatory reporting calculations, their automatic generations, and data validation. From data preparation to report generation automation, the approach was to prepare everything to be implemented in the application later on.
We implemented data engineering processes to identify and collect data from the proper datasets, and with the usage of ETL tools, transferred them into a separate staging database that will be used for data processing. ETL tools were also used to fetch data from the staging database to the source database used in the application.
Methods
- Identification of proper datasets (tables from DWH and files from various sources)
- Implementation of complex business logic with the usage of SQL queries, PL/SQL procedures, and ETL tools
- Implementation of ETL jobs by using SSIS for data fetching
- Realization of data validation controls through SQL queries
- JOIN of multiple tables that are integral parts of report systems
- Report generation through SSRS and creation of datasets according to parameters
Result
- Enabled automated regulatory reporting for major banks in Croatia

A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this client over the phone. Below is an edited transcript.
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m a project manager for Ever.Ag, an innovative agricultural technology (AgTech) solution company for food and beverage supply chains.
What challenge were you trying to address with Digital Poirots?
We needed help with data science and data engineering.
What was the scope of their involvement?
Digital Poirots has helped us with a number of projects. These projects have included data engineering, data extraction, transformation, and loading (ELT), data pipeline development, database migration and optimization, reporting solutions, and data science and AI-based solutions.
For reporting specifically, I worked closely with Digital Poirots on developing a reporting platform. They used Tableau to build the dashboards of this platform. After developing this solution, they integrated the data pipelines into it.
What is the team composition?
We work with two data engineers from Digital Poirots.
How did you come to work with Digital Poirots?
They’re a sub-brand company of Deegloo, a company that has provided us with web and mobile app development services since 2017.
How much have you invested with them?
We’ve spent roughly $400,000 to date.
What is the status of this engagement?
We started working together in August 2020, and our engagement is ongoing.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
Working with Digital Poirots has really helped me. I’m also a subject matter expert (SME) in the platforms we’re using for data reporting, but they’ve saved me a tremendous amount of time in developing this solution. I would have spent a lot more time if I had tried to do the work they’ve done.
Their team is very good at asking the right questions to get the information that they need, but they still ask broad enough questions to have a clear understanding of what we’re trying to accomplish. Whenever we ask for something, they come back with six different options for taking that data and providing us with even more details than expected.
Thanks to Digital Poirots's work on Tableau and our dashboard, we have new sales offerings across our platform. Users can now take the data across five different systems through a single dashboard, which is a completely new sales opportunity for us.
Overall, Digital Poirots has helped us enhance our sales, allowing us to present our customers with our available data. Moreover, they’ve optimized our solutions at a higher level, both internally and externally.
How did Digital Poirots perform from a project management standpoint?
Digital Poirots’ project management has met and exceeded our expectations. They’re very communicative, and they’ve always delivered on time or ahead of schedule. Additionally, they’ve always delivered on budget, so we’ve never had an issue in that regard.
We work remotely, so we use Slack for regular communication and Microsoft Teams for virtual meetings. Digital Poirots is based in Croatia, so there is a seven-hour difference between us; however, we’ve never had a problem communicating with them. We meet early in the morning, which is the end of their day, and they’ve never missed a beat when they come back to the office. They’re very impressive in that regard.
What did you find most impressive about them?
Digital Poirots is very easy to work with, and they pay very close attention to detail. They always ask the right questions so that they can deliver more than expected.
Are there any areas they could improve?
There’s nothing Digital Poirots could improve on. I can only advise them to also focus on their well-being. It seems like they work around the clock, which is good for their business and clients, but I don’t know if it’s good for them personally.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
Digital Poirots is worth the opportunity; you won’t be disappointed. If you can connect with their SMEs, they can make amazing things happen, and you won’t regret it.
