I’m a director and general manager of My Cilmate. My Climate began trading as a family business in 1997 called Y2K Air Conditioning, offering services to commercial, industrial, and residential clients.
For what projects/services did your company hire Digital Next AUS?
We hired Digital Next for search marketing services—predominantly SEO and PPC.
What were your goals for this project?
Our goal was simple: increase the number of visitors to our website and, subsequently, increase the number of leads.
How did you select this vendor?
We already knew about Digital Next. After finding them in the search results, we decided to make an inquiry. After meeting with them and several other vendors, it was clear their approach was unique and centered around our goals as opposed to theirs. We also liked their transparency, and their pricing structure of working toward a Return on Ad Spend (ROAS) model seemed fair.
Describe the project in detail.
The campaign started with an audit of our current performance and was followed by action points addressing some of the newly discovered low-hanging fruit. Analytics were then set up with conversion tracking to be able to monitor user interactions and leads. Each month, we'd receive a report of the previous month's work and detailed action points for the month ahead. As part of the SEO campaign, they made recommendations to edit content and certain page layouts.
What was the team composition?
The points of contact for the campaigns were relatively straightforward. We had an account manager for the SEO work and an account manager for the PPC work. We were also able to speak to senior members of staff when necessary.
Can you share any statistics or metrics that speak to the quality of their work and impact of the engagement?
Organic traffic increased by 38% in comparison to the same period last year, while organic keywords in the top five of search results increased from 52 to over 85 terms. Our presence for commercially related keywords also sky-rocketed to top three positions, resulting in a huge spike of large order value inquiries.
How did the Digital Next AUS perform from a project management standpoint?
From start to finish, the Digital Next team did a fantastic job sticking to deadlines and keeping my team updated on changes. We felt that, despite some unavoidable minor setbacks, the entire project was managed smoothly with a high-level of dedication on their team's part.

Their team was quick to act and respond to feedback, and they made sensible strategic decisions without fluff. Ultimately, their results speak for themselves, but above all, they’re good people.
Are there any areas for improvement?
Reporting could have been provided sooner after the month's end, but that wasn’t a major hurdle. While there was a high level of communication, we would have preferred to have an extra face-to-face meeting to discuss work finalization. That said, this was only a minor inconvenience.

They were tasked with providing ideas and suggestions throughout the web design phase, producing website content that was relevant and keyword friendly, and managing all supporting imagery for the new website. They also designed all of the social media material including avatars, banners, share imagery and much more.
What was the team composition?
I worked closely with Tom (Digital Operations Manager, Digital Next AUS) and Steven (Marketing Manager, Digital Next AUS).
Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?
Although it’s premature to gauge the success of the new website and the work that Digital Next AUS completed, my client and their customers have all had extremely positive responses after seeing the transformation. We couldn't have done it without Digital Next AUS.
How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?
Phone calls and emails are my go-to form of communication and that approach never failed us throughout this project. We scheduled regular meetings over the phone to discuss the current status and planned workflow, and spoke several times daily over email about smaller details.
What did you find most impressive about this company?
The most important thing to me is people. I've worked with a lot of people who do good work but lack the human element. After all, we're serving humans with the work we do. I find the personal approach that Digital Next AUS had was unparalleled. They're a really friendly and ambitious company with a constant eye on evolving and improving the work they do. Tom and Steven were great guys to deal with every day and always had the customer at heart of everything they do.
Are there any areas for improvement?
Things can always be quicker and more efficient, but my client and I were delighted with the service delivered. We'd maybe want a smaller bill, but who doesn't? Their value is second to none.

I needed white-hat link building services that consisted of reaching out to webmasters and introducing them to our content.

I wanted to improve our website’s SEO performance while complying with Google’s terms of service.

I found them online.

We were quite clear about our need to remain 100% Google compliant. Our emails to Digital Next explained, in detail, exactly what we wanted, and more importantly, what we didn’t want. All this was agreed upon by both sides.

We worked with two different project managers, in addition to communicating with their CEO.

Their work was in direct opposition to Google's terms of service, which is precisely what we didn’t want. In attempting to defend their actions, we felt they were rude and aggressive.
How did the Digital Next AUS perform from a project management standpoint?
Our first project manager, Tom (Digital Operations Manager, Digital Next AUS), was excellent to deal with. We have no complaints about him. The second, however, was completely unhelpful and unprofessional. We also had a similar experience with their CEO, who ignored our concerns.
What impresses you about the Digital Next AUS?
I can’t think of a genuine answer to this question.
Are there any areas for improvement?
Working in accordance with Google’s terms of service and their contractual obligations would be a step in the right direction.

We sincerely apologize that you continue to feel disgruntled, however, are confused that you would feel such strong hate. After looking through all communications with our lawyer, it is quite clear that our link building service was explained, your account manager was transparent throughout, and that multiple examples of work were sent to you before any formal commitment. Furthermore, the largest concern is that both you and your internal SEO Specialist approved each and every prospect submission before we proceeded.
This level of transparency is seldom provided in our industry and to claim that we are dishonest is grossly incorrect. To approve the workload before the start, approve the entire first month's deliverables, and then halfway through month two of the order state that we have duped your business with false information is totally inaccurate. We were very open to objective feedback but could not understand where the hate derived from, having been so accountable throughout.
Nevertheless, out of appreciation that there was a misunderstanding, we refunded you for the workload. Unfortunately, we’re not in a position to refund the first month of activities as you requested to proceed forward and the work was delivered as agreed upon. You have had every opportunity to approve all aspects of our work and we have provided ample advice throughout on how you yourself can acquire earned backlinks instead of curated links.
