BACKGROUND

Please describe your company and your position there.

I am the President of DishRus, a telecom company that has served over 800 hotels across the United States. We provide video entertainment, safety solutions, and internet services that are tailor made for the client.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

For what projects/services did your company hire Digital Marketing Gorillas?

We wanted to shift from a sales approach that was limited to outbound calling to one where we were able to gain organic leads on a regular basis.

What were your goals for this project?

We were looking to increase sales while reducing our fixed costs. The idea was that once we had an industry leading website that was able to address the majority of our clients' concerns, we could leverage it to bring in sales qualified leads.

We would also be able to initiate marketing campaigns to drive targeted traffic to our website- an option that wasn't feasible before.

How did you select Digital Marketing Gorillas?

We explored a number of options before signing on with Digital Marketing Gorillas. We are a small company, so the budget for a complete revamp was a major factor.

We also wanted a company that would be hands on during the process and had a dedicated account rep. Digital Marketing Gorillas really surprised us with their knowledge in the field and the level of support they were willing to provide to get us through the project.

Their drive to win us as a client was very clear in the effort they put into providing us with preliminary research on a strategic plan.

Describe the scope of their work in detail.

Digital Marketing Gorillas started with market research and a competitive landscape analysis. They used the findings to construct a marketing strategy for customer acquisition using digital channels, which is something we never did before.

A brand new customer friendly website was created along with the deployment of a full inbound marketing platform. Email marketing campaigns were curated and executed as well as SEM & SMM campaigns.

What was the team composition?

Our main point of contact is Kamal. He was supported by Kenny in our weekly meetings and, together, they reported out on the rest of their team.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

Digital has now become a viable marketing channel for us.

We were previously constrained to industry expos and tele-calling, but we now have a healthy amount of conversions coming in at a significantly lower CPA via digital.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

Their turnaround time on responses to queries was exceptional. They consistently performed well in providing deliverable either on time or ahead of schedule.

They took feedback very well and would provide data based recommendations when we were experiencing hurdles in decision making.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

I was really impressed by the level of initiative they take in managing our success. It almost feels as if we aren't working with an outside agency, but an in house business unit.

Are there any areas for improvement?

None that I can think of. They were able to advise us on areas we didn't even think to cover and presented opportunities we didn't know existed.

Introduce your business and what you do there.

Kenny Chadha: I’m a co-founder supporting Robby, helping with the production for event planning and event decor. The company provides decoration services for weddings and any other kind of events that a family or business would need.

What challenge were you trying to address with Digital Marketing Gorillas?

Robby Bawa: We were trying to get more clients, so we reached out to Digital Marketing Gorillas for help. 

KC: At that time, we were very much a word-of-mouth business. It wasn’t a constant stream of business, and we felt if we partnered with a vendor, we would see more opportunity.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

RB: To start, Digital Marketing Gorillas completely revamped our website. After that, they started managing our social media accounts on Instagram and Facebook and reaching out to publications like Wedding Wire. Essentially, they give us strategies on how to increase our business.

KC: Before they updated it, our site was pretty much static. They added contact forms, analytics, and other functionalities. 

What is the team composition?

RB: We work primarily with Kamal (Chief Mentor).

How did you come to work with Digital Marketing Gorillas?

KC: We’d heard about them through some of our acquaintances. We talked with Kamal and brought him on board.

How much have you invested with them?

RB: The cost of the website was around $2,000. For the ongoing social media, it’s around $500 per month.

What is the status of this engagement?

RB: We began working together in May of last year. 

KC: We’re on pause right now due to COVID-19. We’re looking to revamp our efforts as soon as we’re able.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

RB: We’ve seen a significant increase in clients since working with Digital Marketing Gorillas. We have an increase in phone calls, inquiries, and leads. 

KC: We’ve also been seeing the leads we get through their efforts convert much more. So it’s not just inquiries, it’s actual customers. We’ve seen an uptick of about 25%–30%.

How did Digital Marketing Gorillas perform from a project management standpoint?

KC: They provide us with a weekly analytic report, going over how everything’s performing and how we’re doing. Digital Marketing Gorillas is always on top of what’s going, and they can clearly explain the actions they took and what ramifications they had. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

KC: The care they take makes them stand out. The team is really detail-oriented and they give that personal touch. It doesn’t feel like I’m talking to a big firm, but rather a counterpart that can be frank with us. 

RB: They truly care about our work.

Are there any areas they could improve?

KC: We think they’ve done a pretty good job.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

KC: Keep an open mind and take their considerations into thought. It’s worked out well for us and it’ll probably work out well for you.
