Marketing, Advertising & Development for IT Company
the project
“Their level of dedication, commitment, expertise, and guidance has made the experience really pleasant.”
the reviewer
the review
A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this client over the phone. Below is an edited transcript.
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I am the director of business development for Seletex Solutions. We are a startup IT company with a presence in Canada. Our business model is a mix of adding value to resellers and providing a managed service to clients within the retail industry.
We also do procurement for hardware and software and provide professional services. My job is to ensure the growth of the company and make sure the right partnerships are in place to help us make decisions that will expand our client base, offerings, and brand presence in the US.
What challenge were you trying to address with Digital Ink?
We worked with another digital marketing agency when we were initially developing our brand a few years ago. At this point, we’ve been operating as a brand for about four years. Over time, our business model has changed, and our brand has evolved. We want to reflect that evolution in the way we present ourselves.
We are engaging Digital Ink to help us reformat the brand to better capture the essence of what we do. Our goal is to present a unique value proposition that we can promote to new and existing clients, that helps establish our brand’s online presence and beyond.
What was the scope of their involvement?
First, we worked together on a two-page advertising spread intended for publishing in their digital magazine, BOSS. From there, we decided to engage their expertise to evolve the brand. So far, they have worked on our branding evolution over three stages: brand assessment, market research, and the brand book.
To kick off the brand assessment phase, we had multiple stakeholder interviews. Digital Ink asked a plethora of questions to better get to know our business and gain an understanding of what we do and who we are. From that point on, they took the data and information we provided to begin conducting market research.
The research phase consisted of developing a market research report, which is approximately 60 pages. The report outlines meaningful data insights that back up the decisions we’re making to differentiate ourselves in this competitive landscape. They also focused on the market segment and have identified specific customers we need to target to maximize our brand’s likelihood of success.
After that, they created a brand book that captures the key features and aspects of our brand such as our values, goals, tagline, slogan, tone, logo, font, and color palette. The brand book is a very extensive document.
In terms of creative assets, they revamped our content and designs to capture the essence of our brand in a distinctive way. Currently, they are redesigning our logo and redeveloping our site using the information they gathered during the brand assessment stage. We intend to use their PPC or social media marketing capabilities in the future.
What is the team composition?
We worked with a handful of high-level decision-makers including Nick (CEO), Aaron (President & Founder), Nicola (Content & Creative Director), Sarah (Accounts Receivable Coordinator), and Anne-Frances (Associate Editor).
How did you come to work with Digital Ink?
They were a referral from one of our clients. The initial plan was to collaborate with this client on marketing, but eventually, we decided to keep our marketing strategies separate.
We relied on the referral initially but once we worked with Digital Ink on the advertising spread, we saw their value immediately. Working with them directly gave us enough confidence in their capabilities to justify engaging them as an ongoing partner for our brand evolution.
How much have you invested with them?
We have budgeted over $30,000.
What is the status of this engagement?
We started working together in November 2021 and the engagement is ongoing.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
Digital Ink has been wonderful throughout each project phase. We have certain performance metrics to determine whether their work meets our expectations, and they have been great. The tangible deliverables include the two-age ad, the market research report, and the brand book, and they’re working on our web redesign and development.
The two-page ad was a great first collaboration with them because we developed a healthy back and forth, to the point that they understood our vision and worked at our pace. The purpose of the ad spread was to put ourselves out there digitally and target a wider audience.
Even though it took some time, they have brought our vision to life, and they’re helping us finalize plans to achieve other goals. Working with them on the ad gave us the confidence to expand our relationship and leverage their expertise to help redesign our brand identity.
How did Digital Ink perform from a project management standpoint?
They perform well in terms of project management. We work directly with Nicola through email, phone calls, and text messages. They are open and transparent communicators, which has allowed us to build a close working relationship. They are very accessible, consistently answering questions and providing us with useful feedback.
As for tools, we use Teams for stakeholder video interviews and scheduled meetings. They also have an internal tool that provides access to PDFs and high-resolution graphics. We also utilize cloud storage to share resources securely.
What did you find most impressive about them?
I am most impressed with the level of expertise they bring to the table. After getting to know our business and the direction we are looking to take, they provided effective feedback and have paved the way for us to accomplish our goals.
Another big differentiator between Digital Ink and others is how easy they are to work with. We worked with another agency a few years ago that was hard to get in touch with, and they missed deadlines, which made the whole process unpleasant— even though we received our desired outcome with the other provider, we faced many obstacles.
The team members at Digital Ink are humble, and they operate with an effective and impactful process. Their level of dedication, commitment, expertise, and guidance has made the experience really pleasant.
Are there any areas they could improve?
I don’t know much about their internal business, so I’m not sure how they could improve. I know they’re looking to expand, and are hiring additional personnel. As they gain more projects, I think it’s important for them to retain their culture of working closely with clients and dedicating the same level of energy and effort that they have with us.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
My advice is to get on an introductory call first so that they can assess your branding or marketing needs. Most of the time the first call is free and you can use it as an opportunity to learn more about how they can provide value.

A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this client over the phone. Below is an edited transcript.
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m the VP of sales and marketing for a hydrogen lease company.
What challenge were you trying to address with Digital Ink?
We’re about to separate from our parent company to become a standalone organization, so we wanted to go through a rebranding process to take our business into the national spotlight.
What was the scope of their involvement?
Digital Ink has been doing marketing for us; they started by researching our marketplace to understand how we could bring our initiatives into that market. Their services have included logo development, tagline creation, and mission statement. We’re also about to move towards the website and video creation, among other marketing materials, like brochures and podcasts.
What is the team composition?
We’ve worked with around eight members of their staff, including their upper management and design team.
How did you come to work with Digital Ink?
They have a magazine where they published an article on us. We were impressed with that, so we reached out to them to see what they had to offer. After that, we decided that they were a good fit for us.
How much money have you invested in this partnership?
We’ve spent around $25,000 with them so far.
What is the status of this engagement?
We started working together in April 2022, and the engagement is ongoing.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
The quality of their work is sharp, professional, organized, and well-presented — they have passion for what they do. We also appreciate how they take their time to dive deep into the project to produce good art and design work. Overall, we give them a 10/10 because they’re great at what they do.
How did Digital Ink perform from a project management standpoint?
We have a shared folder to which both parties have access, including their senior designers, my assistant, our CEO, and me. We also communicate through Microsoft Teams, where they showcase what they’re working on, answer any questions, and ensure that we’re heading in the right direction. In addition, we use phone calls, emails, and in-person meetings — they even take a plane to come here to meet us!
What did you find most impressive about them?
I don’t think there’s anything they can improve on — I love working with them.
Are there any areas they could improve?
They’re easy to work with, friendly, and provide a breath of fresh air by adding their personal touch to our needs.

Web Design, Hosting & Graphic Design for Concrete Contractor
“Digital Ink is friendly, responsive, and easy to work with.”

the review
A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this client over the phone. Below is an edited transcript.
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m a senior content manager for a large concrete contractor.
What challenge were you trying to address with Digital Ink?
We wanted to change our website hosting and design. Additionally, we wanted to create a system to redesign our in-store presentations.
What was the scope of their involvement?
Initially, we met with Digital Ink to discuss the challenges we had with our previous vendor and the things we wanted to accomplish with them. We already had a website on WordPress, but they redesigned it and moved it into their own hosting service. Now, they’re in charge of updating and maintaining it. In addition to that, they’ve helped us redesign our presentations.
It is a pretty standard website where people can find information about our location and services. We also have a careers page where people can apply for open positions and a contact form. Additionally, we have a blog that works as a news section and a safety apparel store.
What is the team composition?
We work with three people from Digital Ink: Aaron (President & Founder), Nick (CEO), and a web developer.
How did you come to work with Digital Ink?
My manager had worked with Digital Ink on a different project and liked working with them. When this need came up, she wanted to give them the opportunity to be part of the project.
What is the status of this engagement?
We started working together in January 2022, and our engagement is ongoing.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
The most successful part of working with Digital Ink is the fact that we don’t have to micromanage them. Whenever we ask for something, they get it done quickly without the need for constant follow-ups, which is great because I don’t have to manage our relationship actively and can focus on my job.
How did Digital Ink perform from a project management standpoint?
Working with our previous vendor, we were struggling to get what we needed; they weren’t communicative, responsive, or great at following through. However, Digital Ink is great in those regards and does what we ask them for immediately.
Although I’m not directly involved in the budgeting side of things, Digital Ink’s costs are very reasonable, and they don’t charge us for little tasks. Most of what I ask them to do is included in the website maintenance agreement, which initially was a pleasant surprise because our previous vendor would charge us for every little task.
Around 99% of our communication with Digital Ink is via email. In the beginning, we had a couple of video calls, and later in the engagement, we had an additional video call for the design presentation.
What did you find most impressive about them?
Digital Ink is friendly, responsive, and easy to work with.
Are there any areas they could improve?
No.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
As in any other relationship, you will get what you put into it. Be clear about what you need and ensure that they’re the right partner for you based on those needs.

Branding, Web Design & Development for Men's Clothing Brand
"They’re top of the line with everything they’ve worked on for us."
the reviewer
the review
A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this client over the phone. Below is an edited transcript.
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m an executive at a men’s clothing brand.
What challenge were you trying to address with Digital Ink?
We had launched the company in Europe to start with, and as we prepared for expansion to the US, we wanted to make sure we were branding appropriately for the market.
What was the scope of their involvement?
Digital Ink first reevaluated our branding for the American market. They went through a series of research phases and assessed what our target audience should look like. From there, they came up with a branding and profile for us that they believed would resonate with consumers. They gave us suggestions for values and brand identity backed up with research. The output was a brand book with core values, imagery, brand identity, personality, and guidelines.
Our current project with Digital Ink is a complete website rebuild; they’re designing and developing our e-commerce website on WordPress. They’ve given recommendations on the site’s color scheme, layout, and display. The team is focusing the website on education, so our information comes across clearly, and on ease of use, so customers are funneled to make purchases.
After the site goes live, Digital Ink will help us with maintenance. The team will also work on marketing and implementing the brand book. They’ll be working on Facebook Ads, Instagram Ads, Google Ads, and potentially, influencer marketing campaigns.
What is the team composition?
We’ve worked with an account manager, a branding expert, and one developer. Our main points of contact are Nick (CEO) and Aaron (President & Founder), who have been very involved in the process.
How did you come to work with Digital Ink?
I found them through a Google search. We searched for a partner to help with this project, and we came across several options. After evaluating everyone, we really liked Digital Ink, their founders, and everyone from the team we met — they did a great job representing their company.
How much have you invested with them?
We’ve spent just under $30,000.
What is the status of this engagement?
We started working with them in December 2021, and our partnership is ongoing.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
Everything Digital Ink has produced has been extremely high quality, and the website looks great. We had certain ideas about where we might sit concerning branding, and they’ve gone above and beyond. Since we haven’t launched in the new market, we don’t have any metrics yet. However, we’ve had an overwhelmingly positive experience with them.
Our team is fairly demanding; we have specific ways we like to do things, so we hold deliverables to a very high standard, and The Digital Ink team has been more than willing to accommodate that. If they send us the first draft of something and we have any requests, they take it to heart and don’t just do surface-level work. We give them a piece of feedback, and they can internalize it and make meaningful changes.
Every member of their team is engaged and interested in the project. Digital Ink shows care for their clients, and they’re fairly priced, especially for the level of depth they go into. Overall, we’re 100% satisfied with their work; they’re delivering on their promise, and they’ve exceeded expectations regarding their level of care.
How did Digital Ink perform from a project management standpoint?
We’ve had no issues whatsoever with the budget, and they’ve been very good with timelines in most cases. Although the timeline might extend when we have multiple rounds of reviews, we don't consider this is missing a deadline because we’re simply going through different iterations. In fact, Digital Ink usually beats the timeline, turning in deliverables faster than they promised. We use Microsoft Teams, emails, phone calls, and text messages to communicate.
What did you find most impressive about them?
I’m impressed with Digital Ink’s ability to manage customer relationships. They can put a budget together, a plan in place, and understand what we’re looking for and what they need to do to achieve our goals, which really sets them apart.
The team is also amazing at communication; I never feel left out of the loop. Digital Ink is always there, keeping us informed about their progress and the project’s status. This makes us feel secure in what they’re delivering for us. Overall, they’re top of the line with everything they’ve worked on for us.
Are there any areas they could improve?
I don’t have any constructive feedback right now. I’ve been really satisfied with everything they’ve done so up until now.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
Be very clear about what you’re looking for in a partner. If you’re unsure where to start, be clear about what problem you’re looking to solve. If you can do either of those things, Digital Ink will be great at recommending a course of action.

the review
A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this client over the phone. Below is an edited transcript.
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m the owner of Masterfit, a property services company. We offer loft conversions and kitchen, bathrooms, and bedroom renovations and extensions.
What challenge were you trying to address with Digital Ink?
We were going in a new direction and needed a complete rebrand. We wanted to find a way to make our website look attractive and make us look like a friendly company.
What was the scope of their involvement?
Digital Ink designed our logo from scratch. They provided a lot of samples for us to provide feedback on — we picked elements from different designs until Digital Ink delivered a logo that fit our needs. Once the logo was complete, Digital Ink provided advice and feedback on our marketing talking points.
Then, Digital Ink designed and developed our website. I required that the site be user-friendly and easy to use — I didn't want my customers to be overwhelmed with pages of offerings. We also needed somewhere to post pictures of our work and reviews of our company.
What is the team composition?
We've worked with 2—3 teammates from Digital Ink, including a web designer, an editor, and the CEO.
How did you come to work with Digital Ink?
We searched online for marketing companies with websites that reflected our design aesthetic. I contacted several firms, but Digital Ink was the one that reached out to me with the most helpful advice.
How much have you invested with them?
We’ve spent around $8,000 with Digital Ink.
What is the status of this engagement?
We started working together in March 2022, and our engagement is ongoing.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
The website is ready to go live, but Digital Ink is still waiting on my feedback before they launch the site. The website looks absolutely brilliant. I'm satisfied with Digital Ink's services and I'm currently looking into utilizing more of Digital Ink's services, including website maintenance.
How did Digital Ink perform from a project management standpoint?
Digital Ink has exceeded my expectations with their project management. Their team has delivered most of the project within two weeks, which was excellent. Despite our time zone differences, Digital Ink has responded quickly to my emails. We've also occasionally had meetings over the phone.
What did you find most impressive about them?
Digital Ink is very professional, while still being friendly and helpful. They always have great ideas about my business that I've never thought of — they think outside of the box.
Are there any areas they could improve?
I have nothing for Digital Ink to improve.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
I'd advise customers to be open with Digital Ink and let their team be as creative as they want because they're good at what they do.
