I work for an estate agency property company that operates in South Africa.

What challenge were you trying to address with Digital Applied?

The website we use to advertise our properties wasn't working well at all. It couldn't compete with other private property companies' platforms. The site wasn't user-friendly, and it featured an insufficient number of tiny, low-quality pictures. We needed to upgrade it.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Digital Applied redesigned and enhanced our website. They migrated all the useful information from our previous design and presented in a much more user-friendly and efficient way. The team added better quality photography and modernized the entire platform. They gave it a more appealing design to make it easier to navigate. 

Some of our properties have already been sold or been taken off the market. Updating can be done regularly and easily to show off the properties being marketed. The property portal is upgraded when needed.

How did you come to work with Digital Applied?

The previous vendor we used had created a system that became old-fashioned and outdated. Digital Applied reached out to offer their design services to rework our website. 

What is the status of this engagement?

We've been working together since March 2018. 

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

Could you share any evidence that would demonstrate the productivity, quality of work, or the impact of the engagement?

We haven't required much help or needed to communicate often lately because the system is running smoothly. Digital Applied's website redesign has notably impacted our business. Their work has given our clients much easier access to information about our properties and view photographs of each one. Our users have given us positive feedback about the site's new design. 

How did Digital Applied perform from a project management standpoint?

Digital Applied has maintained good communication. We have had telephonic meetings and use email. The time difference hasn't posed any problems at all. We make most of our arrangements online. They answer all our questions and provide the help me need.

What did you find most impressive about them?

For our purposes, Digital Applied has been absolutely fine. We've been very happy with their service.

I am the director of Biddulphs International. We are a company that is involved in various sectors in the transport industry—primarily the household and office relocation sector in Southern Africa. We also have a separate division that handles international moves worldwide to and from South Africa.

What challenge were you trying to address with Digital Applied?

We contracted with Digital Applied to make us more competitive in the digital space. We hoped to eliminate our traditional means of advertising in newspapers and advertising directories in favor of a more modern digital strategy.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Digital Applied updated our website to be more responsive, and they optimized the site so that it would be recognized more by Google, which would hopefully generate more leads. Further, they’ve coordinated our Google AdWords efforts and our utilization of social media—primarily Facebook. Digital Applied was also heavily involved in the restructuring of our CRM. It’s now a more comprehensive system that has been customized for us to monitor the conversion of leads. We can now follow the full life cycle of leads—from the initial quote through the completion of the move. Once a transaction has been generated, all of the documentation required for the customer’s relocated is generated in the system.

What is the team composition?

I’ve worked primarily with the CEO.

How did you come to work with Digital Applied?

One of their members used to work with us, and we knew they already had a solid understanding of our business.

How much have you invested with them?

We spend about $60,000 per year.

What is the status of this engagement?

Our engagement began in 2015 and remains ongoing.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We’ve seen a fairly significant increase in the number of leads we receive. Further, we are now better equipped to monitor the movement in the number of leads we receive, as well as how many conversions there are. The digital strategy they have created has been very successful.

How did Digital Applied perform from a project management standpoint?

We generally have fluid communication. We receive assistance at our main office or at our individual branches, if necessary. I’ve never received negative feedback regarding their involvement.

What did you find most impressive about them?

I’m particularly appreciative of their personalized attention and their continued support on an ongoing basis. We have worked with firms that provide similar services, and they’ll get off to a good start but then drift apart and not keep up with relevant practices. I’ve never had that concern with Digital Applied.

Are there any areas they could improve?

No. Our needs are generally addressed quite quickly.
