A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this client over the phone. Below is an edited transcript.
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m the owner of ModernView Renovations. We provide tiling installation and anything else to do with flooring. I have 10 employees, and we hire more based on need. We’re a local business in Toronto, Canada.
What challenge were you trying to address with DigiProjexel WebDesign?
COVID really affected our business. I was mainly getting business through referrals and print advertising, and I decided to go digital. We didn’t have the knowledge in-house, so we contacted DigiProjexel.
What was the scope of their involvement?
DigiProjexel designed our logo and developed our website on WordPress; we didn’t have a website before this. They did multiple consultations with us on how we could market ourselves. All I told them was that whatever they made, it should look good. I just specified the color, and that the website should have a contact form and contact number accessible from anywhere. I also sent them some of our pictures to post as well. Additionally, they worked on SEO and set up our Google advertising, teaching me how to manage the ad budget.
What is the team composition?
The project manager was my main point of contact.
How did you come to work with DigiProjexel WebDesign?
I called multiple local agencies, asking for an affordable solution that could be delivered within a month. We were about to go out of business, so we needed to move fast. Some of them our messages went straight to voicemail, others offered ridiculously high prices, and some were super cheap and wanted to do everything for $500. That sounded like really low-quality work.
When I talked to DigiProjexel, they focused more on the relationship than on the money. I found that to be a bit sketchy at first, but they offered us a free redesign as well. We’d pay only after we saw what they could do. We made a few revisions, but they really gave us more than what we asked for in the end.
How much have you invested with them?
The total cost of their services was $6,500 CAD (approximately $5,100 USD). They gave us multiple free consultations.
What is the status of this engagement?
We started working with DigiProjexel in December 2020, and the website was completed in early-January 2021. We’ve made a few small changes since then.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
Toronto is in emergency lockdown now, so the business is slow. I am getting calls about future appointments, though, which is really good. I’m getting an average of 70 visitors and three calls per day.
How did DigiProjexel WebDesign perform from a project management standpoint?
They taught me how to use Google Analytics on my phone. I don’t have much technical knowledge so seeing the performance of the site through that tool is pretty impressive to me. They’ve sent me multiple videos on SEO and how to use Google Analytics.
They delivered in two weeks instead of the estimated five. The work was extended a bit because of some changes I asked for, but they really did their part. Most of the communication was over the phone, and we had two video calls in the beginning to give them some information about the company and what I wanted the site to look like.
What did you find most impressive about them?
They were super responsive, answering me even outside of office hours. They were flexible with that, and I really liked the quality of their work. I wanted something clean, and they made it for me.
Are there any areas they could improve?
I first thought that it would be best if I met them in person, but they were working remotely because of COVID. I can’t fault them for that. It just doesn’t make sense to meet in person during these times.
Do you have any advice for future clients of theirs?
My advice is to not just call them and ask about their rates. Clients should talk to DigiProjexel about what they can do and how they can bring results. Money comes later.
Despite a COVID lockdown, the client is receiving multiple calls per day through the website. They praise DigiProjexel for their willingness to knowledge share, specifically regarding Google Ads and Analytics. Their responsive communication stands out, as does their adaptability and quality of work.
