A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this client over the phone. Below is an edited transcript.
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I'm the president of an online platform that facilitates instant verifications for licensed beauty professionals.
What challenge were you trying to address with DevHired?
Originally, I hired them to create my website.
What was the scope of their involvement?
We started with the website, then expanded into different ways to utilize the code within the platform. They built everything from scratch, and they write code based on data from fifty states. They also work on my Shopify platform.
How did you come to work with DevHired?
The collaboration started some time ago, but I believe we found them on Upwork.
How much have you invested with them?
We've spent around $100,000 on their work.
What is the status of this engagement?
I think we started working together sometime in 2016, and they're currently a core member of the work I do.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
They completed the site and the platform, which work very well.
How did DevHired perform from a project management standpoint?
Even though there is a time difference, they're always there for us. They answer all my emails the day I send them, and often complete tasks within a couple of hours. They send monthly statements that outline the hours they spend on tasks.
What did you find most impressive about them?
They're incredibly easy to work with, and they grasp concepts immediately. Beyond just execution, they come up with better ways to make the work happen. They're honest and reliable.
Are there any areas they could improve?
I would love it if they were in their time zone and if they were willing to work on weekends, but there's nothing I can think of that they should improve.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
Treat them as a part of your team, and be clear with your instructions.

Web Dev for Furniture Rental Co
"DevHired has distinguished themselves by being extremely professional."

A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this client over the phone. Below is an edited transcript.
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I work for a furniture rental company based in Germany.
What challenge were you trying to address with DevHired?
We needed programming specialists to work on our main website specifically.
What was the scope of their involvement?
DevHired worked based on our WordPress website. The team developed custom APIs to build an e-commerce system within our WordPress website. The team connected specifically the website to other applications that we’re using including our CRM but also other software such as a ticketing system.
They’ve also done project management in relation to our graphic design projects. We had a couple of projects commissioned to work specifically on programming, but they’ve also helped with minor graphic design work too.
What is the team composition?
Up until now, we’ve worked with at least four members of the DevHired team. At least three of the four teammates who’ve supported our projects were developers. One person was a project manager.
How did you come to work with DevHired?
A previous partner recommended DevHired.
What is the status of this engagement?
We started working together between 2–3 years ago. We’ve collaborated with them on a monthly basis continuously, managing the same workload in terms of hours per month. We’re looking to continue working with them on a similar workload going forward.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
We’re extremely happy with the work they’ve produced. Their team has proven to be an important part of our business, providing high-quality work.
While their team has suggested more reliable tracking software, we’ve used rudimentary spreadsheets to follow the progress of their work. Since we’re a small company, we prefer to keep it pretty basic. In terms of success, we haven’t kept track of KPIs because software is a minimal part of our business.
How did DevHired perform from a project management standpoint?
Their team has been extremely responsive. From zero to ten—ten being the best—project management has been a nine out of ten.
What did you find most impressive about them?
They’re skilled programmers. Software development is their strong suit. Over the last eight to nine years, we’ve worked with many teams. DevHired has distinguished themselves by being extremely professional.
Are there any areas they could improve?
We wish we could work with them on more projects beyond website development. Since we’re really happy with them, our team wouldn’t mind if DevHired were to decide to do more for us.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
It isn’t specific to DevHired but be detailed about the project and divide the scope into sub-projects. Based on the experience we had with other providers, when we were too naïve there’s always been a bottleneck, which can hurt relationships with third-party developers.

Development for SaaS Content Management Platform
"Their technical and organizational skills are superior."

A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this client over the phone. Below is an edited transcript.
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m the CEO of QuickSilk; we’re a SaaS content management platform.
What challenge were you trying to address with DevHired?
We needed a development partner to work on various elements of our platform, as well as supporting client projects.
What was the scope of their involvement?
DevHired has worked with us extensively on our SaaS content management platform, which addresses a built-in compromise in the content management space. We also engage with DevHired on strategic client projects, as well as refer them directly to clients with smaller projects.
They have followed and contributed to our company’s technical vision, working on our framework, modules and API. For security reasons, we can’t discuss the specific technologies used, however, I can say that DevHired ensures their development efforts are in compliance with leading technology, privacy, accessibility, and payment card industry data security standards.
What is the team composition?
We’ve had as many as 10 team members working on the project at a time.
How did you come to work with DevHired?
I came to know the Founder of DevHired about 10 years ago, through several agency projects. We started working on smaller projects at first and over time have worked on a wide range of internal and client projects, serving an international list of organizations.
What is the status of this engagement?
We started working together in 2010 and the collaboration is ongoing.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
I would judge the success based upon the clients who use the platform. Clients include international financial institutions, al levels of Government, digital agencies, national nonprofits, and corporations.
As an example of their work quality, in November 2018 we had a 4-week penetration test performed on our CMS platform by a leading MSSP - no critical errors were found.
How did DevHired perform from a project management standpoint?
We follow an Agile methodology. DevHired is proactive with their suggestions and also accommodates changes that arise. As we work through a project, we adjust as necessary.
What did you find most impressive about them?
I worked with a dozen different providers before I started working with DevHired. Their technical and organizational skills are superior. Our teams were able to share the same vision quickly. They make suggestions and promote alternative solutions, which makes each of our projects a collaborative effort—which ultimately benefits our clients.
Are there any areas they could improve?
Honestly, any time I ask them for something their team finds a solution.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
As with any group, you need to provide them with well-defined deliverables, scope, and outcomes. You’re going to get what you ask for, which is true of any partnership. DevHired is going to build what’s given to them.
The site and the platform both work well. Though there is a time difference, DevHired is always available and usually completes requests within hours. They are honest and reliable, and they find efficient ways to complete the work.
