Website Design & Development
Atex, a wholesale cleaning and restoration supply company, offers products and equipment to both residential and commercial cleaning companies. They also rent equipment and have one of the only IICRC-certified training schools for cleaning and restoration technicians. When Atex wanted to improve brand awareness for both their Austin and Houston locations, they turned to Design At Work.
Because Atex is the go-to company for products, equipment and training, they needed consistent collateral and a strong website presence to help them cross-sell. Design At Work developed an appealing and engaging campaign, “Supplying the Pros.”, which reinforces Atex’s ability to provide everything an individual or company would need to get their cleaning or restoration job done. A new, bold logo was also designed to attract customers and strengthen brand awareness.
To support Atex’s brand, Design At Work developed a new e-commerce website, organizing inventory for quick and easy customer purchases. Exterior and interior signage was also created for the showroom and classroom at both the Austin and Houston locations. Consistent email marketing, in the form of monthly training course registration emails and product highlight emails, further supported Atex’s goal of top-of-mind-awareness. The Design At Work team also enhanced Atex’s social media presence by engaging potential customers and driving them to the website.

Restaurant Branding
When Island Famous, a restaurant and hospitality company, originally came to Design At Work, they wanted to add a new venue to their existing bar and restaurant, The Spot, but knew they needed a unified brand and professional appearance to make it happen. Each added venue needed its own brand, but those brands had to fit together under one hospitality company. The result was Island Famous and "Five Venues. One Spot. All Beachfront."
Design At Work has seen Island Famous through six different venue launches in addition to rebranding their original restaurant. The team continues to grow the Island Famous brand through menu design, website programming, email marketing, signage and more. Graphics and content reflect the vibe of the well-known Galveston Seawall destination, where you’re encouraged to enjoy great food and drinks on Island time.

Advertisement for Finance Client
Commonwealth Funds manages five international funds investing in places around the world including Africa, Australia, New Zealand, and Japan, while also providing a variety of account options to meet all their clients’ needs. To make their brand as interesting as their unique investment opportunities, Commonwealth Funds relied on Design At Work to create a new campaign: "Bring it Home." The new tagline represents Commonwealth Funds’ worldwide investment options that help their Texas clients meet financial goals.

Tourism Marketing for Round Top, Texas
Round Top, Texas is a small town with a population of only 90, about halfway between Houston and Austin. While it’s known nationally for its bi-annual antiques show, the Round Top Area Chamber of Commerce wanted to capture the charm of the town and market it as more than just an antique-hunting destination. Design At Work quickly got to work on a brand new logo for the Chamber organization, a new tourism-focused website and a tagline that perfectly captured the spirit of Round Top: “Big Time Small.”
Design At Work built a campaign for the Round Top Area Chamber of Commerce centered around the idea of the town being “big time small” – a place where you can find all the amenities of the big city, but without the hustle and bustle. Focused on the local arts, shopping, dining and culture, the campaign included the launch of a brand new tourism website that allows guests to browse lodging options and view local events. With the help of promotional materials, local advertising and email marketing, Round Top is showing Texas how they do small-town living big.

Retail Marketing for Family-Owned Business
With nearly 30 years in business, Magpies Gifts, a family-owned gift shop with three locations around Houston, was ready to take their business to the next level. The shop maintained a loyal following, but without a full website — and an absence of marketing pieces that speak to who they are — found it difficult to reach new audiences. Design At Work came on board to develop a brand to get to the heart of the beloved shop.
Magpies prides itself on being more than a store. It’s a welcoming environment that encourages shoppers to visit, relax and enjoy the experience as they seek out their treasures. With a light, airy feel, clever verbiage and plenty of product pictures, their updated brand embraces and emphasizes the atmosphere Magpies has cultivated over time. Today, with help from a new eCommerce website, email marketing, promotional and holiday marketing, a strong social media presence, and targeted advertisements, the store continues to grow its customer base while maintaining its sweet Southern charm.

Marketing Collateral for Belvoir Commercial Real Estate
Belvoir is a commercial real estate firm that offers brokerage, development, management and investment services to commercial property owners, tenants and investors. Competing with large corporate firms, Belvoir counted on Design At Work to execute a comprehensive plan including website redesign, presentation collateral, social media management and email marketing to maximize exposure, attract qualified suitors, and build engagement and brand recognition. Their tagline "Going Places" is a nod to the company's expansion within local markets and is reflective of Belvoir’s ambitious growth goals.

Healthcare Marketing for Nexus Health Systems
Nexus Health Systems provides a comprehensive continuum of healthcare for patients as they progress through rehabilitation post injury, illness or disease. With multiple locations in Houston, Texas and Orange, California, Nexus relied on Design At Work’s marketing expertise to create a cohesive brand highlighting their unique care model. In addition to a new, overarching logo, Design At Work developed a new brand and tagline,"Mending Minds," to reinforce Nexus’ lasting impact on returning patients to productive, meaningful lives.

Branding for The Don'Key Mexican Restaurant
The Don'Key Mexican Food first came to Design At Work on the hunt for a website, marketing materials and overall brand that encompassed who they were — and made customers take note. Armed with bold colours, tongue-in-cheek headlines and a unique tagline, "No Passport Required," Design At Work helped the restaurant take Pasadena, Texas, by storm. Years later, when the eatery decided it was time for a refresh, they once again enlisted Design At Work's help. While the overall brand remained largely unchanged, modern design touches, updated verbiage and a recharged color palette came together to prove old donkeys can learn new tricks.

Retail Marketing - Product Packaging
YakGear, a manufacturer and distributor of quality paddlesport accessories, decided the time had come to take its established retail company to the next level. While the business maintained a loyal following among kayak and canoe enthusiasts, the company found itself struggling to strike the right balance when marketing both YakGear and the other products the company sold. Design At Work stepped in to create a cohesive look and feel that gives the individual entities the attention they deserve while still placing YakGear front and center. The result? "Your Rules."

Tradeshow Booth for Industrial Client
Longtime client Metallic Products initially came to our Houston marketing agency in search of industrial marketing to help their company — and ventilation products — really stand out. Design At Work developed a bold new brand and striking tagline, “Work that Flows,” to usher Metallic Products into its next exciting phase. The average brand has a lifespan of three to five years, however, so several years after that initial rollout, Design At Work approached Metallic Products about taking things to the next level.
With the goal of incorporating existing elements into an upgraded design, Design At Work created an elevated, yet still familiar, look. Impactful, one-word headlines and added breathing room placed the company’s products front and center in ads, email marketing and the like. Meanwhile, a new website with everything from added product information to video design elements made for an improved online experience. Metallic Products might look a bit more modern, but it remains the same quality company, providing work that flows.
