George Rodrigue Studios Website

In 2013, Rodrigue Studios, and owner George Rodrigue – an indelible figure in the Louisiana art scene – partnered with Design the Planet to translate his unique style and vision into an interactive online presence. The collaboration was a success, and we were able to launch a website to help showcase his iconic work with the world.

Over the years, we continued to assist Rodrigue Studio with their website,

adapting to the changes in George’s art. After George’s passing, the family turned to us to help transition the brand into something that would ensure a lasting legacy for the famous “Blue Dog” artist.

in 2018 - It was no small feat to elevate a brand that George had worked a lifetime to create, but we were able to take our original masterpiece and modernize it. The result is a complete redesign of the initial site – one that captures the spirit of the Rodrigue aesthetic, pays homage to the past, and looks far into the future.

How we did it:

Robust Ecommerce

We look forward to our next project with the Rodrigue family as they continue to promote George’s art, share his unique history, and advance his philanthropic goals.

Jefferson Door - Logo, Website, Fleet Graphics and more

Brand Identity

Jefferson Door Company already benefits from a great story and shared history with the community, and people identify with the local company in a positive way. Our role in creating a cohesive identity began with consolidating these positive attributes and shared history into a marketable and compelling look.

Once we were satisfied that our designs fully captured the Jefferson

Door story, we developed several marketing assets:
  • Company logo
  • Business cards
  • Letterhead
  • Yard-signage
  • Truck wraps
  • Brochures & more

Custom Responsive Website

Jefferson Door Company required a complete overhaul of their existing online presence. To ensure consistency, we used the same elements we designed for offline marketing collateral. Our work included building the visual elements that help showcase the products and projects of the company.

Additionally, a newly introduced “Learning Center” was constructed to offer customers free educational resources on a range of home-renovation topics. We also integrated the company’s social media channels, created a section for prospective employees to search for available careers, and highlighted the internal team.

LSU School of Dentistry Video and Anniversary logo - Celebrating 50 Years

Branding & Logo Design – “Making Louisiana Smile”

Over the years, the LSU School of Dentistry has amassed many milestone achievements. We realized the direct impact the school had in fostering a healthy, smiling Louisiana – approximately 80 % of the dental professionals in Louisiana are graduates of the school. For this reason, our first goal was to create a logo that symbolized this impact while

also honoring the 50 years of top-tier dental education producing nearly 6,000 dental professionals.

More about the full campaign here ::  https://www.designtheplanet.com/portfolio/lsu-school-of-dentistry/

Compendium Videos

Perhaps one of the best ways to share the story of the LSU School of Dentistry is to hear from its people: students, faculty and alumni. We successfully concepted, scouted, shot, directed and edited several videos to further highlight the state-of-the-art facilities, the dedication of the students, and the accomplishments of those who’ve graduated.

Interactive Timeline

Design the Planet developed a historical interactive timeline that captured some of the most important moments along the school’s 50 year journey. Starting from 1968, when Dean Jeansonne began to assemble the pieces needed to form an accredited school, and spanning through to present day, the timeline captures it all. It works on any device and is ready to accommodate future milestones.

River Road Coffees Rebrand

After 15 years in business, the leadership at River Road Coffees was changing. The founder was stepping down and handing the reigns to his son. While the business was being kept in the Melancon family, it’s transition from the founder’s philosophy to son’s was a big shift. The marketing and identity system had been stagnant for years with little focus on social media or online marketing. The new leadership was ready

to take a more aggressive approach to marketing for growth, and the old branding was holding the company back. We sat down with them to brew up a new and exciting direction for this already successful gourmet coffee roaster and service company.

A new River Road Coffees identity was needed to fully represent the new owner’s passionate focus on high-quality service and the freshest-roasted coffee. While RRC is focused on Coffee Service, expanding retail sales is vital to building demand. River Road Coffees is focused on delivering the highest quality Coffee and remarkable Service. The new identity ties together these ideas with a service “Wing” that flows into a coffee roaster. The logo was a big break from the past more conservative identities for this 18 year old company.

Design the Planet developed a video strategy and campaign to share the River Road Coffee passion for creating Great Coffee Breaks.

Custom WordPress Website:

We want customers to feel the delicious flavor and passion for perfection in coffee roasting throughout the website. https://www.riverroadcoffees.com

BACKGROUND

Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m chief development officer for the LSU Health Foundation. I manage all fundraising activity on campus.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

What challenge were you trying to address with Design The Planet?

We needed a website overhaul, as well as other basic marketing needs.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Design The Planet redesigned our website. I don't know the technology they used, but they had to integrate it with our giving database. They had to make sure it had the proper redundancies, so none of it crashed. They continue to provide ongoing digital marketing support and SEO. They also put some videos together that we use on our website and social media.

What is the team composition?

We have one main point of contact for each aspect of the project: video, digital marketing, and website development.

How did you come to work with Design The Planet?

A fellow staff member found them a few years ago. They came in as part of the bidding process to overhaul the website, and we continue to partner with them on lots of different projects.

How much have you invested with them?

In total, we’ve spent in the range of $50,000–$100,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working together around June 2016, and the engagement is ongoing.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Our old website wasn’t good at all. They've increased our social media presence as well as the number of website visitors. Fundraising is up 80% this year, which is amazing. Their customer service and flexibility makes it easy and enjoyable to work with them. We’ve mentioned their high-quality work to our colleagues, and now another department is going to use them to revamp their website.

How did Design The Planet perform from a project management standpoint?

Their team is highly professional and approachable. If something isn’t going in the right direction, they're very receptive to hearing that message. They're eager to make every aspect exactly as we envision it to be.

Communication is excellent. Depending on the project, we may do most of it by email or we might meet in person to execute a task. We've had monthly meetings to talk about their work and get progress updates. Our projects don't all look alike, and Design The Planet is just really flexible.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Their professionalism and accessibility stand out for me.

Are there any areas they could improve?

No, not at this time.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Be clear in your expectations. You may be great at envisioning exactly what you want, but you also need to convey it to Design The Planet. If they come to a different interpretation of things, then you have to be able to tell them that's not what you had in mind. They're very receptive to feedback. They don't get offended or become defensive, which I love.

Design The Planet is a trustworthy and talented long-term partner. The team is communicative and willing to take risks for the betterment of the creative deliverables. They are capable of leading a professional project and providing sustainable brand materials.

A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this client over the phone. Below is an edited transcript.

BACKGROUND

Introduce your business and what you do there.

I am the owner of River Road Coffees, an office coffee service that roasts its own coffee.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

What challenge were you trying to address with Design The Planet?

Design The Planet creates all of our branding materials and is responsible for our general brand awareness.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Over the years, we’ve relied on Design The Planet to create radio advertisement spots and promotional videos. They’ve developed our website and implemented an e-commerce element to facilitate online sales. Most recently, we’ve decided to produce our own K-Cups, and Design The Planet created all of the graphics for the packaging materials.

What is the team composition?

I work directly with Adrienne (Owner, Design the Planet) to develop our project plans. She also has 2–3 office staff members that I communicate with on occasion. They’re all very responsive.

How did you come to work with Design The Planet?

My father chose to work with them almost 20 years ago.

How much have you invested with them?

We spend between $30,000–$45,000 each year.

What is the status of this engagement?

We’ve worked together since February 2000. Our engagement is ongoing, and we just renewed their contract for another year.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Our e-commerce component brought about $50,000 in revenue last year, so that’s a nice addition to our business. We also receive promising feedback about our advertising efforts.

How did Design The Planet perform from a project management standpoint?

It’s my preference to meet in person, but we’ll sometimes hold web conferences and share screens to go over our projects.

What did you find most impressive about them?

I can be somewhat conservative with my ideas, but Adrienne tests and pushes me to find new angles. Her ability to guide me in the right direction has been very helpful.

Are there any areas they could improve?

My only wish is that New Orleans and Baton Rouge be a little closer together so that we could meet in person easier.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Don’t be afraid to let them guide you. They are professionals in what they do.
