Deployflow assisted with DevOps strategy, and implemented core microservices to ensure deployment was seamless. They added the necessary infrastructure to fit that architecture into an AWS or Azure environment.
Thanks to Deployflow’s strategy, time to market has been significantly reduced. The team ensured that the technology was set up well, and reduced the overall risk in the event of bugs. Their excellent communication and phenomenal budget management skills set them apart from other vendors.

BACKGROUND
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m the co-founder of Innovify, a product management firm. We build innovative products for startups and scaleups.
OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE
What challenge were you trying to address with Deployflow?
We work with many startups, scaleups, and enterprises. We needed help with DevOps and strategizing.
SOLUTION
What was the scope of their involvement?
We had a lead architect in-house that designed the whole architecture piece, but what we were missing was more infrastructure and how anything we build was placed onto the servers and how that microservice architecture, will fit into the whole AWS or Azure environment.
They helped us strategize the DevOps in terms of how the weekly cycles would work or the weekly reviews would look like. At the same time, they implemented the core microservices which were required to ensure that deployment was seamless. If there were any errors during development, it could be rolled back to its original state with IT consulting to develop a DevOps strategy. Also, they implemented a whole DevOps cycle from continuous integration to delivery. We are continuously involving them in other projects because of the work they’ve done.
What is the team composition?
I worked with Thomas (Head of IT, Deployflow) and one other person.
How did you come to work with Deployflow?
They were referred to us. One of my colleagues had previously worked with them and his review was excellent. One of the reasons we chose to work with them was to reduce risk inside the project.
How much have you invested with them?
We've invested over $100,000.
What is the status of this engagement?
We started working together in October 2018, and our engagement is ongoing.
RESULTS & FEEDBACK
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
They have reduced time to market by implementing this strategy. We have reduced our risk if there’s a bug. If we have to go back, they helped in placing that strategy and making us understand how important the DevOps is. Efficiency wise, they’ve done a very good job.
How did Deployflow perform from a project management standpoint?
They are excellent. They initially placed a plan and have stuck with the plan. They’ve been using our Jira. They use Confluence for making sure the strategies were saved on there. We use Slack.
What did you find most impressive about them?
They provide candidates that are effective. They take the risk from their end and have offset our risks to make sure the project goes as planned and delivers on time. This is one of the big reasons why we will continue working with them. From a technology point of view, their knowledge is outstanding. They are excellent communicators. They have always informed the dev at the right time if there was a delay or an impact.
Are there any areas they could improve?
We hired them for a specific purpose around technology and making sure the environment has been set up well. I can see they’ve done that. They’ve been very good with managing budgets as well. They’ve achieved all we wanted. There’s nothing I’d have them improve.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
They spent about two days really understanding where their value-add could be within the project. That helped us a lot. My recommendation is to spend two days to make sure they really get what the product is and what the strategy of the whole project is.

Deployflow acted as a consultant, taking project specifications and handling the procurement of hardware for end clients. They also took care of training and deployment, mostly for Windows-based projects.
Their team offers direction on the best technologies to use and can produce scalable and long-lasting infrastructures. Deployflow’s work hardly had any issues after deployments we made and would offer 24/7 support post-projects. They also stuck to their promises and resolved any concerns quickly.
A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this
client over the phone. Below is an edited
transcript.
BACKGROUND
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I have an IT consultancy office in Dubai. At the time of doing business with Deployflow, our main clients were government entities in Saudi Arabia. We do end-to-end custom software development, along with hardware procurement, installation, and deployment for these solutions.
OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE
What challenge were you trying to address with Deployflow?
Saudi Arabia is a hardware nation, meaning that we have no problems spending money on hardware, but we’re very limited when it comes to software. For dealing with clients, we had a skill gap in our consulting portfolio, so I reached out to Thomas (IT Director, Deployflow) specifically for him to come in and use his depth of knowledge on infrastructure, hardware, and whatever else our clients needed.
SOLUTION
What was the scope of their involvement?
When it came down to the hardware aspect of it, we asked Deployflow to come up with the specifications for each client. They'd come back with about six different vendors, quotes, and recommended specifications. We would gIve them broad requirements, covering how many thousands of users the platform would have, how scalable it needed to be long-term, and how many daily transactions it should handle. They would make calculations and research, and come back with hardware recommendations.
When it came to deployment, they were the ones who handled all of it. We’re a big Microsoft shop and usually assign Deployflow to deploy all Windows technologies end-to-end.
What is the team composition?
I only dealt with Thomas. A lot of work was being done off-site, and when Deployflow came on board, everything was ready. It was just a matter of training the on-site staff. Because we had fixed-price engagements with them, I didn’t have visibility into how many people they brought in for a project. I just sent commitments and deadlines to Thomas and he delivered.
How did you come to work with Deployflow?
We’re a small consultancy and didn't have the time to look around too much, so we considered only three vendors in total. I met Thomas while I was working for another company and knew that he did good work. When I realized that he started his company, I figured I’d give the project to him. He was able to deliver better than anyone else and at a great price as well, so there was no reason for me to keep looking around. Our clients have been impressed.
How much have you invested with them?
The total cost of their work was a bit below $1 million. It represented around 20% of our overall budget over the past few years.
What is the status of this engagement?
I’ve known Thomas since 2009 but we only started working with his company in June 2013. We’ve worked with them on a series of projects for multiple government agencies and continue to have them on retainer for consulting and other work.
RESULTS & FEEDBACK
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
Our clients like Deployflow because their work is actually solid. They provided 24/7 support after projects and reply within minutes when we log a request. Deployflow is a well-oiled machine.
There may be fewer variables here, compared to software development, but all end clients they’ve worked with will say that there weren’t too many problems after the deployment. Whenever I had an issue, it was typically diagnosed and resolved within an hour, including on weekends, during the summer, or outside working hours. Overall, Deployflow delivers solid work that stands the test of time. Even today, deployments we’ve done in 2014 continue to work with no issues.
How did Deployflow perform from a project management standpoint?
They weren’t involved in anything related to project management. Deployflow’s work has been specifically around infrastructure, procurement, deployment, training, and support. I usually don’t have visibility into how they track projects. All I know is that they’ve never missed a deadline for me and their estimates are usually spot on. Overall, there are never any surprises when it comes to them delivering what they promise.
What did you find most impressive about them?
If we come to them with a task in their area of expertise, they deliver. They’ve never been late and our clients are always happy. Thomas is our secret weapon. Whenever we bring him to a meeting, people don’t want him to leave. This is the general nature of our business relationship.
Are there any areas they could improve?
I wish they had more of a local presence in the region. Typically, their on-site time in Saudi Arabia is limited. I think I would’ve done more business with Deployflow had they been able to come to initial client meetings and things of that nature.
Do you have any advice for future clients of theirs?
Clients need to know what Deployflow is good at and what their strengths and specialties are. Someone in need of their skillset can go to Deployflow, even if the requirements are vague. One of their strengths is to steer the client in the right direction on which technologies to use and how to build a scalable infrastructure that can stand the test of time.
Beyond that, the actual procurement, installation, and deployment are relatively straightforward. Clients should get them in early in the process. Deployflow can help the client make decisions that’ll make them happy in the long term.

I'm the marketing and communications manager at TCNUK, a real estate agency.

They continue to provide customer support and training for our staff across different locations. They also provide on-site hardware and other IT support for some of our offices as needed.
What is the team composition?
We mainly work with two people, including Thomas (Founder, Deployflow).
How did you come to work with Deployflow?
A previous client of theirs recommended them. Compared to other vendors we considered, Deployflow impressed us the most with their presentation, knowledge, and ideas for solutions for our business. We also liked their personal approach and ability to quickly understand our challenges.
How much have you invested with them?
We've invested about $40,000 thus far.
What is the status of this engagement?
We've been working with them since June 2018.

How did Deployflow perform from a project management standpoint?
They're very responsive and good at keeping us informed about everything they're working on. They always heed deadlines. Even when transferring all our files over to Office 365 proved to be more complicated than anticipated, they worked night and day to deliver on time. We communicate through email and phone, but they also visit our offices on site when needed.
What did you find most impressive about them?
They're not only very knowledgeable in their sector, but also very personable, patient, and willing to explain technical processes in layman's terms. They're also good about providing different solutions and feedback about different technologies available to us, while staying open to our preferences and input.
Are there any areas they could improve?
No. I can't think of anything that's gone wrong.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
Be clear about project requirements, but also collaborative and open to their ideas as well.
