BACKGROUND

Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m an IT manager at Clarion Bella Casa, a five-star hotel in the west part of Rajasthan, India. I look after all IT activities, including website maintenance and looking after bookings.

What challenge were you trying to address with Delphinium Softwares Private Limited?

We had a website, but we didn’t have the option to do online booking.

We’re located in an area that attracts a lot of tourists, with a lot of hotels in the same category as ours. We wanted the site to have a more competitive look and feel.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Delphinium gave us a short brief on how they’d develop our website. We showed them our website at the time, gave them our requirements, and Delphinium came up with 2–3 design proposals, including a logo. They started development after our management approved the UI/UX design — they built the site on WordPress.

Additionally, they did a lot of research on our market, and built the site to be SEO-friendly — it has a lot of information on places that tourists would want to see.

What is the team composition?

Three people were assigned to us initially, and we added two more later on. We had an initial discussion with a business analyst and he prepared a feature list and roadmap. We worked with one project manager, two developers, one designer, and a QA tester after that. The business analyst connected with us periodically to review the deliverables.

We’ve also gotten a chance to speak with the VP of the company. He spent time with us on a call to talk about their services.

How did you come to work with Delphinium Softwares Private Limited?

We found them through a reference, and we looked at their work. Delphinium gave us a presentation of their previous work, and we chose them based on the quality of the work and the estimated timeline — they also gave us a two-and-a-half-year support period.

I proposed giving them a try to my management, and we got good results at the end of the day.

How much have you invested with them?

We have a contract for $5,300, which covers the support period.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working with Delphinium in October or November 2019. We did some website changes in 2020, and they’re continuing to maintain the site.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We had an initial challenge regarding the room prices listed on the website. We told Delphinium that we change rates frequently, and they came up with a wonderful solution through which our team can make changes on a daily basis — being able to do this has given us a wonderful advantage.

They did a good job on the design part. We get a lot of celebrities at the hotel, and Delphinium gave us some good graphics and animations using pictures of those celebrities. They made a very good page on the tourism part as people can find a lot of information on places to visit, and they’re drawn to make reservations from there.

How did Delphinium Softwares Private Limited perform from a project management standpoint?

We’ve been working with them for almost two years now, and we haven’t had any challenges. The project manager continues to speak with us periodically, and they’re there to help us if there’s an issue on the backend.

Delphinium delivered under the specified timeline, and they prepared quality documentation — I’m not at the hotel all the time, and I have a team looking after everything. They tell me that it’s very easy to follow the documentation for website maintenance and everything else. Moreover, their project manager also organized a three-four-hour training for us.

It was a small and quick project. We mainly exchanged emails, and they visited us when there was an issue, since we’re located in the same city — they’re very fast in that respect. We can organize a Zoom call and have them take over the system, make the change, and give it back to us. They’ve worked during the night when we had urgent matters. Delphinium has a quality team of developers, and it’s been a great experience.

What did you find most impressive about them?

The commitment we got from them is outstanding — they’re still supporting the site, and they do everything they commit to. We’ve had bad experiences with other people in the segment, including with the previous website. Now, Delphinium is there for us whenever we need any kind of support.

Are there any areas they could improve?

There’s always something to improve. Delphinium could suggest more technological and design advancements to us.

I will surely recommend Delphinium. They deliver on their commitments, and they do quality work.
