I work in trade marketing at a privately owned, global, spirits supplier.

For what projects/services did your company hire DEGO?

We needed resources to support our brand activation campaign, which included developing a site, filming a promotional video, and building a VR app for iOS. The activation needed to draw attention to the brand’s values and leave an imprint on customers.

SOLUTION

What were your goals for this project?

Initially, we wanted to cultivate brand recognition with a visually appealing website and promotional video. We then needed a VR app with an intuitive UI. Our goal was to allow consumers to experience the brand from anywhere via smartphone.

How did you select this vendor?

I was not involved in the vendor selection process. However, as DEGO completed the first phase of the project, we continued to work with them to evolve the VR app.

What was the team composition?

We primarily worked with two people, one of whom was an account manager. However, DEGO had a larger development team working behind the scenes.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

Can you go into detail about the services they provided and the scope of the project?

In the first phase of the project, they redesigned our site UI to incorporate our promotional aesthetic. They also filmed a promotional video and created custom Google Cardboard in preparation for the VR app. The Google Cardboards were used as consumer gifts.

In the second phase of the project, they refined the video and developed the mobile app for iOS. They ensured that the video could be downloaded so that the app would function offline. An intuitive interface allowed promotional staff and consumers to use the app without instruction.

Can you share any information that demonstrates the impact that this project has had on your business?

The campaign generated increased interest and customer appeal for our new brand. As a result, we increased brand distribution into new sales channels.

How was project management arranged and how effective was it?

The project was managed well. They met our deadlines and expectations. Despite the time zone difference and potential language barrier, communication was clear and responsive. We spoke exclusively through email.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

We appreciated DEGO’s quick turnaround. Even video production, which required overseas travel, happened very quickly.

Are there any areas where they can improve?

While they worked well to produce an app according to our specifications, they could have been better at communicating details about their deliverables. For example, they could have specified how the promotional video would be edited or clarified that the app would be initially be produced in Apple Test Flight.
