Please describe your company and your position there.
I'm currently the Director of Software Engineering and Data Science at a financial services company and the teams I manage to focus on automated data extraction, generating insights for users, all through various machine learning services deployed in the cloud.
For what projects/services did your company hire Dead Horse Technologies, and what were your goals?
I had a custom software solution in mind and they helped me map it out and the various pieces to that solution.
How did you select Dead Horse Technologies and what were the deciding factors?
They were referred to me, after an initial consultation they seemed like a good fit. Great customer service!
Describe the scope of work in detail, including the project steps, key deliverables, and technologies used.
The initial consultation phase, they sent me a project management sheet with the various hours to build certain components, then they started building and letting me know progress along the way. It was a server-less cloud-based solution that we ultimately decided on.
How many people from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?
3 people: the founders of the company and they provided technical project management and the lead developer who got me what I needed.
Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?
I was very pleased with the overall experience in working with Dan and Vova
Describe their project management style, including communication tools and timelines.
GSheets, slack, Git and AWS. They are very flexible and willing to work with you.
What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?
They delivered up to their expectations, I expect to work with them again in the near future.
Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?
Nope!

Project manager, software architect, two back end developers, one front end developer, QA engineer, and a mobile engineer. 7 in total.
Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?
Our existing clients loved the stability, look-and-feel of the new platform. Some of them even decided to expand their operation with us. Within a year we acquired around 30 new clients thanks to the new platform.
Describe their project management style, including communication tools and timelines.
The project management style was agile and extremely convenient. The development process is split into 2-week iterations with engineering stand-ups held daily and a retrospective meeting at the end of each sprint. Along with it, Dead Horse guys engaged all stakeholders in a weekly meeting. After everything was set up, everybody involved in the project had crystal clear visibility which was very convenient.
What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?
I liked the way the team operated under pressure within tight timeframes. Somehow, despite overwhelming and somewhat rushed development, despite all drawbacks, the process of working on this project was actually enjoyable and all deadlines were met on time.
Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?
From my experience, bugs and mistakes are unavoidable. In a perfect world I, of course, would want to launch a product without any bugs on day 0, but these guys managed to handle everything that popped up on time, so no complaints here.
Stakeholders of the financial services firm expressed satisfaction with the team's output. Dead Horse Technologies was flexible, met the client's expectations, and provided great customer service.
