We have worked with Davideo Company on various projects over a number of years. In this most recent project, they created a script for a how-to instructional video on using a new system we were implementing. They created and edited the script, filmed on-site, edited the video together, and created both a version to live on our website and a social media version with subtitles.

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

The video produced was concise, clear, and easy to understand. The video was produced professionally and allowed any individual to watch the video and understand exactly how to use the system. Davideos extreme attention to detail ensures that there are no questions or confusion left after watching the video.

Davideo Company works efficiently and has always produced their work in a timely manner. They are very organized and show up to the site ready to film and know exactly what they need.

Their level of attention to detail. When it comes to creating the concept, building the script, and setting up the shots - every part of the process is well thought out. They always had great ideas and input on how to amplify the quality of the video and ensured it came out as intended, if not better.

I don't have any critique for Davideo company - it is clear they have a passion for what they do and have been doing it for a long time. They have it down to science!

Over 1,000 EMS professionals have taken courses on the system. Email feedback from attendees has all been positive.

Please describe your company and your position there.

I was the Training Manager for a hyper-converged computer systems vendor. My responsibilities included the creation and management of technical classroom and eLearning for company personnel, partners, and customers.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

For what projects/services did your company hire Davideo Company?

We needed someone with professional video capture and production expertise. We had several system integrations with a number of computer vendors where we had to show partners how to install and replace our unique circuit board and other components into those vendors' computers.

What were your goals for this project?

Train partners on how to install and replace accelerator card, how to replace the boot drive, and how to relocate the boot drive.

SOLUTION

How did you select this vendor?

From past experience. I've worked with Davideo on multiple occasions over a 16 year period and have always been extremely happy with the results.

Describe the video(s) and the process in detail.

The project followed these steps:

1. I provided Davideo with the formal written procedures that needed to be captured, as well as background on the project audience and requirements.

2. Davideo created an initial script/flow and the specific shots needed for the various procedures. I reviewed and edited and returned it to Davideo for final edits.

3. We arranged shooting date/time and I reserved and arranged the facility, required computer equipment, and personnel to be filmed conducting the procedures.

4. Davideo captured the procedures following the formalized shooting script. It is impossible to envision the totality and complexity of a given procedure simply through the shooting script, so during the shooting we would collaborate to modify the script and take new shots as needed in real-time.

Davideo is VERY GOOD at understanding the training audiences' needs and identifying those 'gotchas' that are not properly documented in system collateral. Due diligence was given to ensure the finished product did not leave gotchas unaddressed.

5. Davideo edited the captures and provided initial copies for my review. We would then iterate as needed to get the final versions.

6. Davideo delivered downloadable versions of each produced video which I then uploaded to our learning management system for remote, online viewing.

What was your vendors' project management or feedback process?

Regular email or telephone calls. Davideo was very responsive throughout the project.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

Sure, we enabled our own global field personnel as well as partners on how to conduct these formal procedures, and we did so without having to conduct classroom training or ship equipment around the globe.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

Like a handshake. We communicated back and forth seamlessly throughout the project.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

Davideo's keen eye toward identifying and training the 'gotchas'. Things never go 'by the book' and with Davideo's help we were able to train fairly complex tasks while illuminating what can go wrong and how to react.

What challenge were you trying to address with Davideo Company?

We worked on multiple videography projects with Davideo Company. The main project was creating a video portfolio of our customers evangelizing our company and how we helped them.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement? 

For the video testimonial project, we chose some of our customers in the Boston area, where both our company and Davideo Company are based. They came with all the necessary equipment and gave us a guideline of what to expect.

They put the interviewee at ease and made the entire shoot comfortable. When they were figuring out angles for filming, you could feel the years of experience they had.

While filming, they got plenty of b-roll footage. That made the editing process easy, and we got a seamless, professional product.

They also did some other projects for us like filming users and our big user group conference that was hosted in Boston.

How did you come to work with Davideo Company?

They were one of the best-reviewed companies in our area.

How much have you invested with them?

Each project had its own budget. Their prices were pretty reasonable. I believe most projects cost around $1,600, with bigger projects costing closer to $5,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working with them sometime between 2014–2016. Our last project with them ended in 2018.

They did an unbelievable job. The user-testimonial video they made is still used today. It has had a very high ROI.

Everyone in our company, from our CEO down, has been really impressed with Davideo Company’s quality work. It was all excellent: their expertise, their opinions and advice, and the work they do from start to finish.

I’m the managing partner of Natick Coworking, a suburban coworking space located west of Boston, Massachusetts.

What challenge were you trying to address with Davideo Company?

We wanted to showcase the personality and character of our company which is derived from our members. We felt the best way to do that was through video testimonials. 

One of our concerns was that we had a limited budget, so we needed to work with someone who could fit our needs.

What was the scope of their involvement?

They came to the coworking space and interviewed four or five members using a conversational interview style. They knew how to make the interviewees feel comfortable as if they weren't being filmed. They also did some B-roll and stills of the space.

I worked with Peter (Executive Producer, Davideo Company) and Candice (Lead Editor, Davideo Company). 

How did you come to work with Davideo Company?

I initially met Peter through the Chamber of Commerce. We’ve established both a personal and professional relationship which is why I felt comfortable hiring him for this project.

We spent about $2,500 on this video. 

What is the status of this engagement?

The project lasted from February-April 2019.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

Peter is personable and intuitive. He was able to guide us on how to produce the best video within our budget, working strategically during the process. They were able to educate me on the production process so that I could get the most out of the project. 

They made all of our members feel comfortable when they came in for filming and left a positive impression. 

How did Davideo Company perform from a project management standpoint?

Peter was timely and organized. He was pushing me to stay on schedule more than me pushing him. He took the time to explain the process so that I could participate in scheduling and feedback more effectively. 

What did you find most impressive about them? 

Even though Davideo Company came into our workspace during the middle of the day, they made everyone feel at ease and were professional. I don’t think a lot of other companies make people feel as comfortable. This filming process could have been a huge disruption, but it wasn’t because of his professionalism and personability. 

Are there any areas they could improve?

No. There are ways the project could’ve been improved, but those shortcomings were a result of our budget constraints, not their abilities.

I’m a services marketing leader for a healthcare services company, so I manage content and promotional events for our brand.

We hired them to create a video that speaks to the importance of a new service brand we’re launching.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Their team has produced multiple videos for us, ranging from webcasts of townhall meetings to videos interviewing event attendees. For one video, they shot it at one of our executive’s meetings in Boston. They set-up the shot, teleprompter, and scenes for us, gathering all the footage and editing it together. 

A few months later, we hired a new vice president and needed to add them to that existing video, so they used a green screen to splice in the new team member’s piece into the video.

I’m unsure how we found them initially, but we’ve been very happy with their work over the years so we continue to use them.

For this project, we spent in the $6,000–$8,000 range and then a little more for the additional work in October. 

What is the status of this engagement?

We worked together on this video from March–October 2019, but we’ve used them for other projects outside of those dates and will continue to do so.

They’ve delivered exactly what we’re looking for every time. The quality of the work is great. 

How did Davideo Company perform from a project management standpoint?

They’re very responsive and accommodating to our needs. Our schedules work well together and they continuously produce what we ask for in a timely way. They’re always willing to meet with us and discuss logistics. Their suggestions are productive and help us figure out the best way to do things within our timeframe. I haven’t had any issues with their delivery times so I’m satisfied. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

Their team is full of professionals. They’re down-to-earth people who are easy to work with and deliver everything I ask them for. They offer great advice and suggestions. Regardless of anything that comes up, they make sure they have the right resources and are available to help us.

I have nothing negative to say about them. No matter what challenges we’ve faced, they put in the effort to work with us and make everything flow smoothly. For example, we have to arrange payments differently and they always make time to settle the bill with us after an event.
