Introduce your business and what you do there.
I work for Li-Cycle, a resource recovery company in the clean technology and sustainability space. We recycle used lithium-ion batteries, which can be found in common items such as cell phones, laptops, e-readers, e-scooters, and vacuum cleaners. Li-Cycle extracts non-renewable, finite resources from these lithium-ion batteries — materials such as lithium, cobalt, and manganese.
What challenge were you trying to address with Dash Agency?
We hired Dash Agency to create our website. It was a mighty challenge because we had a fast-approaching deadline. Our company was about to announce that we were going public and we needed an awesome website that was engaging, modern, clean, and ready to go quickly.
What was the scope of their involvement?
Our WordPress site needed to be entirely revamped. Dash Agency modernized our site; they redesigned it to really amplify our story. They built an investors page, a corporate social responsibility (CSR) page, and a more robust newsroom section, which was instrumental in helping us to add third-party media coverage.
They also built a webpage for Community Engagement, which will help our team to easily provide information to residents living in an area where we are about to build a new plant. As our company continues to grow, we wanted these residents to be able to access a page on our website that would help them to learn about our environmentally friendly company and its new facilities – information that includes job opportunities and other positives that will impact these neighborhoods.
Working with Dash Agency was a gradual process — they didn’t roll out the brand new site in just one swoop; instead it was a project that evolved. It’s really come together on it piece by piece. First, they worked on the website revamp, then we tackled the CSR page, next Dash designed our new investor's page, and finally they tackled the Community Engagement page with supporting details about our new build (and new plant) in New York State.

How did you come to work with Dash Agency?
Dash Agency was recommended to our team. Our digital marketing specialist and CCO interviewed a few different agencies. It seemed to our team that Dash Agency would be able to turnaround the project as quickly as we needed – and faster than the others – so we went with them.
How much have you invested with them?
We’ve spent between $20,000–$60,000.
What is the status of this engagement?
We started working with them in August 2020 and our partnership is ongoing.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
We’ve had really positive feedback from stakeholders, board members, and potential investors – everything we’ve heard has been tremendously positive. Overall, I would say the revamp of our website was incredible thanks to Dash. Also worth noting, the new site is very easy to use.
How did Dash Agency perform from a project management standpoint?
We always have insight into what the revisions to the website look like because Cole sends us samples. He also sends our teams links – which gives us the chance to view the specific updates Dash has made. This is just one of the convenient tools we’re provided with that allows us to see the various steps of the webpage creations, as well as any edits.

Are there any areas they could improve?
They don’t need to improve anything – they’re phenomenal.

Be as communicative as possible about what your needs are – share as many details as you can. Dash has everything it takes to meet your requirements. They’re there to accommodate you and they won’t disappoint.
