Ultimaker is a 3D printer company, which is trusted by millions of users worldwide. Apart from the high-quality 3D printers, Ultimaker offers a range of software (Ultimaker Cura), materials and support.

For what projects/services did your company hire Dapper - the growth agency?

We hired Dapper for lead generation in the EMEA countries during the first half year of 2022. The goals were to reach the lead target (consisting of a certain amount of leads for a certain CPL) per country (group) in the EMEA region.

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

We were introduced to Dapper via another platform we were trying out. Their speed and mindset led us to run a test with them. The subsequent results led us to decide to pursue working with them further.

Describe the project in detail and walk through the stages of the project.

To generate the leads, Dapper has run 10 different lead magnets from Ultimaker in 10 different languages over 32 EMEA countries. 3 different channels have been used to generate leads: Facebook ad manager, LinkedIn campaign manager and Google search. To keep track of the performance, a dashboard has been made with Google Studio were we could keep track of the amount of leads that had been generated and the CPL per country and how much of the budget was spent.

Each week, we would have a meeting with Dapper were we would discuss the results and were they would give an update about the performance of the activated ads, inform us about the ads that would be launched in the near future and were they would let us know whether there was anything that needed to be done from our side. At the end of the project, Dapper presented the results and took a deep dive in the data they collected to present us the learnings of the past 2 quarters in which the lead generation advertisements had run.

During the project, four different Growth Hackers from Dapper and the Founder were involved.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

Dapper helped us to generate over 5.000 leads in more than 20 different countries over the course of one year. Through the experiments that Dapper ran, we also learned which channels and lead magnets resonate with and convert our target audience.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

Dapper manages client projects in a structured manner. We had weekly digital meetings where they would inform us about the ongoing activities in the project. During (but also outside) those meetings, they communicated very clear and were always being transparent. It was also very easy to give input and feedback to them since they were very open.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

The unique thing about Dapper is that they make collaborations more personal, low-key, and fun!

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

One point of improvement would be that we could have looked a bit more at the long-term strategy. Right now we generated the leads more in an ad hoc way rather than looking at the behaviour of the leads after they were generated or discovering the preferences of the leads in different countries. Both from Dapper's side and Ultimaker's side, it was difficult to change anything about the problem.

In collaboration with Dapper we improved and marketed the mobile app SnapJobs. They found and tested different digital marketing channels to approach the target audience. The main idea here was to execute small experiments in small timeframes to conclude what works and what does not.

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

We met Dapper in the early stages of developing Snapjobs and found that it would be really useful to have a partner that could help us efficiently acquire new customers to test the product. In our search for partners to work on this project, we chose Dapper over other agencies because of their track record and their ability to have professional discussions with us in regards to specific business decisions. Now that we are past the MVP stages of the product, we can say that Dapper has proven to handle the available resources above expectations.

The collaboration started with collecting all the ideas to then prioritise what was most important to implement first.

From their side, we were working with a pool of multiple growth hackers.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

One of the key results is that we became a trending mobile app in the App Store, with having more downloads than large financial institutions such as Rabobank or ING.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

The workflow and collaboration always happened smoothly. We had regular face-to-face and video calls to keep our teams updated. They have always been on top of things.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

Dapper - the growth agency has proven to be confident and very proficient in the world of growth hacking. They have been able to manage us as an account very well by always being focused and listening to our needs throughout the entire lifecycle of the product that we built.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

None to mention!

Our mission is to sell houses in a transparent, easy, quick, and affordable way. We do this by combining smart user-friendly technology with the expertise of local real estate agents and appraisers. I am the founder of the company.

Testing to generate our first client base.

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

I came into contact with the founder of Dapper.

Describe the project in detail and walk through the stages of the project.

We just launched our proposition and website and needed to get the first clients.

• Step 1: Research Dapper looked at the competitors in the market to find out how they were getting in clients and what kind of ads they were running. Also they researched the advertising cost for our target audience on different channels.
• Step 2: Rapid experimentation Dapper came up with experiments to run on several advertising platforms. Most of the experiments were run on Google and Facebook. De experiments were set up and run.
• Step 3: Kill or scale We found that especially the Google experiments proved to be successful, and decided to scale the campaigns that were run on this platform. As the Facebook campaigns weren’t getting the same ROI we ‘killed’ the experiments on this channel.

We worked together two days a week for half a year. The people that I was in contact with were one Growth Marketeer and the Founder of Dapper.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

We tested different channels and creative assets at the beginning, after a while, we found that SEA worked as a good channel to generate leads so we shifted our attention and resources to that channel.

Good! It resulted in more sales.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

Their young and driven team was outstanding!

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

Not for the moment.
