Daas Design created an MVP version of a fitness app for a fitness company. The team also created a clickable prototype and a design system and delivered a document for the client's developers.
Daas Design delivered a beautiful and functional MVP in just two weeks, which impressed the client. They also delivered the prototype in time for the client's funding round, and the client received positive feedback from users. The client was also happy with Daas Design's communication.
BACKGROUND
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m the founder of GymBuddy, a fitness company. We connect entry-level gym goers with experienced gym goers to help them feel comfortable, learn new techniques, and generally feel excited about moving their bodies.
OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE
What challenge were you trying to address with Daas Design?
I needed to get an MVP version of the app up and running quickly to test and validate the idea with users. Then, I needed a high-fidelity prototype so I could present the app to investors for funding.
SOLUTION
What was the scope of their involvement?
Daas Design created an MVP design for the app and a clickable prototype that shows how the app works to present to investors. They also created a design system for us from our branding and delivered a dev-specific document that showed our developers all the flows and how they should be coded.
What is the team composition?
We worked with Alyssa from Daas Design.
How did you come to work with Daas Design?
We found them through an online search. We chose them over other options because they had high ratings, their pricing fit our budget, they were a great culture fit, they offered good value for the cost, and their company values aligned with ours.
How much have you invested with them?
We spent between $10,000–$50,000.
What is the status of this engagement?
We worked together from March–April 2025.
RESULTS & FEEDBACK
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
We received a beautiful and functional MVP in two weeks, which was incredibly fast. Daas Design didn’t miss anything. We received the prototype one week later, which was perfect timing as our funding round started right after we validated the MVP with users. We tracked all user feedback. Of the 15 people we spoke to, all of them were able to move through the app with little to no confusion. Every one of our users understood the goal of the app. There were no major red flags that we came across during testing. Moreover, the prototype helped us secure funding and investor interest after our MVP testing. We received funding from three investors out of the five we spoke to.
How did Daas Design perform from a project management standpoint?
They delivered on time. I was skeptical about getting an MVP within two weeks, but they got it done! Our primary form of communication was virtual meetings, emails, and messaging apps.
What did you find most impressive about them?
I was impressed with how communicative Daas Design was. We worked with an agency before this, and it would be crickets for a week. Then, they’d present us with their designs that weren’t always accurate, with mistakes that could have been avoided if they had reached out sooner.Daas Design did the opposite and reached out every single time they had a question (over Slack or a quick video chat) so that we could discuss and iterate on their question.
Are there any areas they could improve?
No, there weren’t any. We were very happy with their work, and we’ll continue to work with them to refine the app.
