We at Customlytics wanted to help BVG Jelbi to promote their app organically with App Store Optimization (ASO) because we believe in their service and as well care about sustainability.

Because the app is relatively new, it’s app store assets and keyword strategy were still fresh. This provided a rather unique

opportunity to structure from scratch a firm foundation for long-term organic app growth strategies with a perfect setup. To do this, we did the following:
  • Keyword optimization (KOW):
    We discovered and selected the most valuable and relevant keywords for the app to rank for in search results, and tried to make it rank as high as possible for them.

  • Conversion rate optimization (CRO):
    We researched and developed effective communication strategies using the app’s app store screenshots to persuade those who see it to install it, thus increasing it’s conversion rate (CVR).


We reached great results:

For the screenshots, we saw a near-instant uplift of 41% in CVR (store visits to downloads) after changing the screenshots on the App Store, and about 5%. On average, this was a 23% growth in organic CVR.


For the keywords, we reached an 80% uplift in search visibility in the App Store.

Improving app ranking with a design overhaul and A/B testing. 

In April 2019, COUP became our client and we developed and run App Store Optimization (ASO) campaigns for them

The goals were twofold: 

  • To increase the COUP e-scooter app’s organic visibility,
  • Increase its conversion rate (CVR) to make the boosted visibility turn into more
installs.


After a three-month AB testing project, we managed to help our client COUP learn a lot about their market and users. We also helped them establish a foundation for CRO.

In shorts, we could reach a +20% Initial Uplift in the CVR, we developed 3 Test Variants and had 1 Validated Strategy to Scale.

CVR & A/B Testing, Keyword Optimization

When our client CodeCheck was launching in a new region, they wanted to use this chance to refresh their app’s store presence as well. 

This is were we came in: We helped them to have an awesome presence on the App and Play Stores in order to transform all the publicity as well as organic traffic into actual app installs.

We

split our project for CodeCheck into 2 parts:
  • We optimized the conversion rate from all traffic enabled by the boosted public attention, and add the precious organic traffic from Search optimization to secure more organic installs. For conversion, we helped them set up the most scalable and testable app store asset – the screenshots  – then began AB testing with it.
  • For visibility, we developed a keyword optimization strategy that helps the client’s app get found by the right kind of users, who are more likely to keep using the app, interact more with it, and become paying users.

After a one-month project, we managed to help our client CodeCheck improve both keyword ranking improvement and conversion rate growth. In shorts, our results include: +45% Search Visibility, +3% CVR.
