We went through a long design process with many iterations where CrestCroder provided valuable input. After the first stages of project development, we started to test functionality in an agile way and made adjustments as needed.

We also included various change requests in order to meet our high demands for functionality and design perfection. Once we were completely satisfied and had resolved all issues we launched our app to the stores.

We only worked with Maulik as the project manager. He managed the Android, iOS and backend developers in the background. This was we just had a single point of contact which made working together much easier and effective!

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

Only a week after release and we received only 5-star reviews in both the App and Play Store. No crashes are occurring so far and we are very happy to have a stable product that the users appreciate.

We almost communicated with the project manager daily and had skype calls when necessary. We had set up a software for logging and resolving tasks and issues which worked well.

Sometimes it took a few iterations to get things resolved, this could have been more efficient. Other than that we are very happy with the work delivered.

We hired Crest coder to create a custom insurance webapp and mobile app. The client wanted a simple solution to allow people to insure trucks and plant equipment.

But not only that, the client must be able to switch between comprehensive insurance (while the item is OUt of the yard, and limited insurance while the item is IN the yard.

We wanted a simple solution for the management of the insurance of Trucks and Plant equipment (construction eqipment). A solution that the end user could manage without having to even deal with a broker or underwriter.

I have worked with Crest coder in the past on other small projects. I knew they were right for this project because I get personal attention from start to end. And I know they always produce the goods!

We now have Laravel webapp which will manage the entire process from registration (of clients or brokers), to quoting for both limited and comprehensive insurance, to management of insured items.

We also have a native Android and iPhone app which will allow for the management of "comprehensive" or "limited" insurance, per insured item, at the click of a switch in the app.

What was the team composition?

From our side we had a designer who supplied the basic layouts. I designed the flow of the webapp and mobile app. Crest coder supplier the technical team to build the webapp and the mobile app.

This project has progressed exactly as planned from the start. Crest coder sticks to the schedule we agreed. well, actually they are usually a little ahead of where I expect hem to be!

The requirement describes that client wants to develop a mobile application to offer an “On Demand” advertising concept where an app user can browse categories and then select service provider to watch their promotional video.

Client Background Information The client has been in the media and advertising industry for most of his life. Since moving out of the corporate environment he has started his own business that create videos for advertising, promotion and brand awareness purposes.

The idea behind the mobile application is to offer an “On Demand” advertising application where app users can browse business categories and then select a service provider/business and watch their promotional video.

APP FUNCTIONALITY

Phase 1: 

The main purpose of the app is to provide advertising space for businesses within 20 business categories. One the landing screen after login in there must be space for the promotional videos of the day / week / month. It will be great if we could maybe add 3 – 6 videos in this section. On the landing screen the user must select “Business Categories”, which then opens up the 20 business categories.

When the app user clicks on a certain business category for example “Agricultural” the Agricultural business directory open up listing all the advertisers. At the top of each business category there must be space to either add a video advertisement or sliding banner advertisements (6 in total).

The businesses are then ordered either by date added or alphabetically. When the app user clicks on a business listing a screen needs to open up that has that company’s video at the top of the page along with information about that business, their contact details / website address and also a PDF attachment with their product or service catalogue.

Phase 2:

We need to think about reporting back to advertisers on how many times their advert has shown inside the app by reporting back on Impressions and Clicks. We need to collect the stats on how many impressions and clicks the advert received in each of these sections Advertising Space inside the app

3. The particular business page When an app user clicks on the video the app must direct the user to the business page inside the app. On this page I think we can show the number and the contact email, but these details must be hidden and only made visible upon click on it.

The app must then also count the number of times that app users clicks on the number and email in order to see the details, and on a monthly basis these statistics must be emailed to the advertiser. It will be great if the app could tracked logged in user….so each user must create an account on the app so that they can be tracked.

If the app user then visits the Insurance business category and spends a certain amount of time in this category, then the user must be captured and their contact details must be shown as well, along with the business category that their browsed, so that these “leads” an be passed onto some of the advertisers in the business directory.

Thus far the customer is extremely happy with the progress of the project. Everything is happening on time and according to schedule. Crest Coder communication and project management has been excellent thus far.

Well, we specialise in designing hence we were looking for partners with development capabilities. Our project's core idea was to help normal users design their own courts and play with the colours. They should be able to print them as well. Initially, we provided Crest Coder with detail specification document and schedule a call to discuss the understandings. After a single call, we found out that they have understood our requirement and were capable enough to complete the task. We both agreed to use WordPress CMS as it was more convenient to our end client.

We're still on an early stage of the launch of the website but so far we have received positive feedback from our customer and they are happy with the final product.

They divided the projects in sprints so that we can match the deadlines. They schedule a weekly call with us to discuss all the project progress and so far they have delivered the results and they're still working on the final sprint.

The project was to rewrite an existing app into React Native, so we handed over the old app codebase to CrestCoder, working versions of the app for Android & iOS, and we provided access to a test & production API, which was the same one used in our current App. We had to write up missing documentation for the API as the previous app was written in-house.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

The project was completed successfully to our requirements for an initial development round. Right after our first week of development we started receiving progress reports and development versions of the app, which reassured us that the work was being performed.

The workflow was very effective, perhaps one of the best aspects of this development effort was that the team was very hands off almost right from the start, with a minimal communications effort. The team understood our requirements and issues during development, sorting them out effectively.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

This was our first experience outsourcing development work, and we were very pleased about the effective communication between our team, and the way CrestCoder completed the work and solved issues during development.

Are there any areas for improvement?

As with any development work there is always some room for improvement. In this particular stage, as the project was a relatively straightforward assignment we hadn't implemented an error reporting process, which may have been useful in our last stages to improve team communications even further. Having said this we were very pleased in the way the Crest Coder team took responsibility for their work and addressed the issues as they were reported.
